Reported Questions

When we want to report questions, we
have to remember:
1. There is no inversion of subject and
auxiliary verb.
2. We don’t use auxiliary words: did / do /
does.
3. We don’t use a question mark: ?

4. We use the reported verb ASK.
5. We use IF / WHETHER when there is no question
word (WH – question)
6. When there is a question word, we use the
question word in the reported question but the
word order remains the same as in affirmative
sentences.

Remember we have two kind of questions:
Yes/ No questions and Wh- questions
