Student Justification 1
• This target is need because after deliberation between myself and Sam’s
coach, we chose the 4 traits of excellence he was weakest at, after testing
these 4, muscular endurance was highlighter as one of the too he was weakest
at. Therefore we are going to work on a training program to improve this trait
to improve overall football performance.
• Muscular endurance allows a player to performer for a longer period of time
at a high intensity, which is important in football due to the duration of the
game. If Sam's muscular endurance improve it may benefit him in team
selection.
• Sam is a striker so he needs to constantly be running after the ball, in order to
be near if the opportunity to shoot and hopefully score. So it will benefit the
team, in increasing the likely hood of scoring.

The aim is to improve his muscular endurance, attempting to go from
average on the normative data chart to above average.
Measurable I will measure it by retesting using the wall squat test on weeks 4 and
8 on the training program.
Agreed Upon Sam agrees with that by working on this it will improve his football
performance.
Realistic I believe it is realistic to improve by the amount stated because it
only requires Sam to hold his wall squat for a few seconds longer.

Student Justification 2
• This target is needed because a good footballer
needs to be able to sustain physically exercise for
a prolonged period of time, which at the moment
is one of Sam's weakest traits.
• By improving this it will help in team selection as
he will be able to sustain high intensity exercise
for the duration of the same and will be an asset
to the team.
• It will benefit the whole team in that as a striker
he will be more likely to score goals, winning the
game.

data tablet for the astrand treadmill test.
Measurable I will measure it by retesting using the astrand treadmill test on weeks 4
and 8 on the training program.

Realistic It is realistic target if he sticks to the training program and commits
100%

Student Justification 1 • This target is need because after deliberation between myself and Sam’s coach, we chose the 4 traits of excellence he was weakest at, after testing these 4, muscular endurance was highlighter as one of the too he was weakest at. Therefore we are going to work on a training program to improve this trait to improve overall football performance. • Muscular endurance allows a player to performer for a longer period of time at a high intensity, which is important in football due to the duration of the game. If Sam's muscular endurance improve it may benefit him in team selection. • Sam is a striker so he needs to constantly be running after the ball, in order to be near if the opportunity to shoot and hopefully score. So it will benefit the team, in increasing the likely hood of scoring.

Improvement Target 1 (P6) Priority Excellence Trait/Result Muscular Endurance Specific Target The aim is to improve his muscular endurance, attempting to go from average on the normative data chart to above average. Measurable I will measure it by retesting using the wall squat test on weeks 4 and 8 on the training program. Agreed Upon Sam agrees with that by working on this it will improve his football performance. Realistic I believe it is realistic to improve by the amount stated because it only requires Sam to hold his wall squat for a few seconds longer. Time Based Baseline test (WB 12/01): Review (WB 09/02): Complete (WB 09/03):
  • 8. Student Justification 2 • This target is needed because a good footballer needs to be able to sustain physically exercise for a prolonged period of time, which at the moment is one of Sam's weakest traits. • By improving this it will help in team selection as he will be able to sustain high intensity exercise for the duration of the same and will be an asset to the team. • It will benefit the whole team in that as a striker he will be more likely to score goals, winning the game.
  • 9. Improvement Target 2 (P6) Priority Excellence Trait/Result Stamina Specific Target The target is to improve stamina to a score of good on the normative data tablet for the astrand treadmill test. Measurable I will measure it by retesting using the astrand treadmill test on weeks 4 and 8 on the training program. Agreed Upon Sam has agreed improving stamina will help overall performance. Realistic It is realistic target if he sticks to the training program and commits 100% Time Based Baseline test (WB 12/01): Review (WB 09/02): Complete (WB 09/03):
