UCL has engaged in several local policy collaborations in London: 1. UCL supported a workshop and advisory board for Waltham Forest's state of the borough report and equity approach. 2. UCL delivered roundtables on good work for Islington's agenda and scoped a policy challenge. 3. UCL partnered with Camden Council on an internship program. UCL also brokered connections for academics to contribute to climate initiatives in Hackney and Harrow. UCL delivered a roundtable for Newham Council's 15 minute neighborhoods plan. CAPE is developing a fellowship program to enhance evidence-based decision making for local authorities through interaction with other universities and mobilizing

delivery – UCL Public Policy supported a workshop, provided feedback on the report
and sat on the advisory board
•Islington ‘Good work agenda’ – CAPE delivered three roundtables looking at good
work and has scoped a policy challenge, to provide academic evidence and insight to
support Islington’s work on community unionism
•Camden Council internships – UCL Public Policy partnered with Camden Council
on the summer school and internship programme to deliver policy internships
•London Councils Climate Programme – UCL Pro-Provost (London) Office brokered
connections for academics to contribute to climate and net zero long term initiatives in
Hackney and Harrow
•Newham Council ‘15 Minute Neighbourhoods’ – UCL East delivered a roundtable
with academics and contributed to Citizen Assembly ahead of ongoing consultation

3. CAPE – London/Regional Fellowships
•Supporting the development of soft infrastructure to enhance evidence-based
decision making for local and regional authorities through its fellowship programme
•Looking to develop a systemic approach to academic-policy engagement and
ensure EDI is embedded at every stage…through:
1. Inward fellows – interaction with academics at five partner universities
2. Policy Fellowships – mobilising academic knowledge in London and beyond
