This document compares the performance of a PI controller and fuzzy logic controller for power factor correction and total harmonic distortion (THD) minimization using a two-phase interleaved boost converter. Simulation results show that the fuzzy logic controller provides faster settling time, lower overshoot, higher power factor (0.9999 vs 0.9988), and lower THD (2.21% vs 5.70%) compared to the PI controller. Therefore, the fuzzy logic controller provides better control and performance than the conventional PI controller for this application.
