It helps the reader to remember

the reader reads preface, contents,
introduction and conclusion and then
he decides whether the book is worth
reading in detail.

Studying is essentially a process of
thinking. It requires repeated reading and
taking notes of the essential point
of the discourse.

7. SKIMMING
It means looking at a text or
Chapter quickly in order to have
a journal or rough idea of
the content. In this reading the
reader does not fixed his eye on
each and every word.

8. SCANNING
Scanning means looking at a text
to find some particular information.
It is like making our eye see all but stay
no where. The scanning method of
reading means reading quickly in order
to grasp the meaning.
