There are different types of learning which may
require different teaching and study procedures.
While theoretically there is unity in learning and much
interplay and overlapping of one type with one
another, at least three types are commonly used

3 types of learning
16
1. Cognitive Learning
Concerned with the development of ideas
and concepts. It covers much of what
academic learning demands. It includes
everything from associations between
stimuli and responses (referred to as
associative learning} to the development
of problem-solving skills.
3 types of learning
17
1. Cognitive Learning
*ASSOCIATIVE LEARNING – involves the
development of associative patterns by
which ideas and experiences are stored
in memory

1. Cognitive Learning
*Problem-solving learning – involves a
process of overcoming difficulties that
appear to interfere with the attainment of
a goal. It is the framework or pattern
within which creative thinking and
reasoning takes place.

. Sensory-motor learning
Involves understanding the external
world through the senses and muscles.
The chief outcome is the development
of movement as reaction to stimuli
resulting in speed and precision in
performance. It may vary from large
muscular to fine motor skills

CONCLUSION
In teaching, it is recognize that a different technique
is needed to educate appreciation from that used to
teach skills and knowledge. Teaching for appreciation
may involve several factors. The most important
factor is the teacher. Unless the teacher is fully able
to appreciate what is being taught, students cannot
be expected to develop appreciation well.

IMPLICATIONTO EDUCATION
In this time of pandemic where in all of us are
doing online classes and others modular, it is
very hard on the part of the teacher if the
students were really able to learn because we
did not really identified the different learning
styles of our students unlike during face to face
classes but we as teachers have tried our very
best to connect with our students and
encourage them to participate in our classes.
