2. i) Political history
• This is the type of history which concentrates on leaders and
political events such as wars and invasions that influence
society.
• it gives you past political events that happened in your
village
- The history of the chieftainship of your village in terms of
how it started and who was the first village head person is
good example.
- Another good example of political history is the history of
Mwenemutapa Kingdom
3. ii) Economic history
• concentrates on how people used to make money and support
yourselves
• the political system of your village or community to grow you and
other people were involved in activities that supported your families
like trade, farming and hunting
• the Trans-Atlantic slave trade where some people and kingdoms
became rich because of taking part in slave trade is a good example of
economic history
4. iii) Social history
• Deals with how ordinary people lived their lived their life in the past.
• Their way of life is quite different from what is happening today.
• some of the aspects of ordinary people’s lives that have changed over
time in your community include:
- food, dressing, music, games and culture. This type of history, which,
is social history.
- people lived by hunting, metal working, farming and rearing animals
during the Iron Age period in Central Africa.
