• Why are you tweeting?
• What outcome will result?
• Write down your content
marketing strategy.
• Identify core themes.
• Log your time invested.
Time-saver #2: Use auto-
scheduling software.
• Help yourself. Program in
advance evergreen material.
• Always have someone deputized
to “turn it off” or re-schedule if a
news event changes the
situation.
Time-saver #3: Use lists
strategically.
• Use twitter lists (public or private).
• Curate your favorite 10-25 active accounts.
• Use lists to strategically monitor
competitors, allies, newsmakers.
• Re-visit and review your lists periodically.
• Set up easy monitoring for the list with a
column in Hootsuite or other software.

and current posts.
• Develop seasonal posts. Schedule in advance.
• “Break up” seasonal posts with current news.
• Mix up photos on evergreen posts.

so you can easily resize for Instagram,
Facebook, etc.
Time-saver #5: Recycle
graphics.
• Infographics can have longevity.
• Re-runs are ok, just don’t label them
new.
• Refresh seasonal library so you have
variety.
• Update stats and websites.
Time-saver #6: Look at your
analytics monthly.
• Use free analytic tools in Twitter.
• What worked? What didn’t?
• Evaluate monthly for trends and
outcomes.
• Graph over time impressions,
engagements (by month) and look
for trends.
Time-saver #7: Invest time in
engagement.
• Use contests but limit time span so
you aren’t stressed.
• Set checkins daily to engage on
twitter, re-tweet your allies, respond.
• Re-tweet, comment and respond to
others.
5 Things to Never Do
• Auto-response to follows.
• Extreme self-promotion.
• Abandon ship during a live event.
• Ignore your analytics.
• Appropriate a hashtag without
reading it.

  • 5. Time-saver #1: Be intentional • Why are you tweeting? • What outcome will result? • Write down your content marketing strategy. • Identify core themes. • Log your time invested.
  • 6. Time-saver #2: Use auto- scheduling software. • Help yourself. Program in advance evergreen material. • Always have someone deputized to “turn it off” or re-schedule if a news event changes the situation.
  • 7. Time-saver #3: Use lists strategically. • Use twitter lists (public or private). • Curate your favorite 10-25 active accounts. • Use lists to strategically monitor competitors, allies, newsmakers. • Re-visit and review your lists periodically. • Set up easy monitoring for the list with a column in Hootsuite or other software.

Schedule in advance. • “Break up” seasonal posts with current news. • Mix up photos on evergreen posts. • Schedule judiciously. • Do memes in professional software like Canva, so you can easily resize for Instagram, Facebook, etc.
  • 10. Time-saver #5: Recycle graphics. • Infographics can have longevity. • Re-runs are ok, just don’t label them new. • Refresh seasonal library so you have variety. • Update stats and websites.
  • 11. Time-saver #6: Look at your analytics monthly. • Use free analytic tools in Twitter. • What worked? What didn’t? • Evaluate monthly for trends and outcomes. • Graph over time impressions, engagements (by month) and look for trends.
  • 12. Time-saver #7: Invest time in engagement. • Use contests but limit time span so you aren’t stressed. • Set checkins daily to engage on twitter, re-tweet your allies, respond. • Re-tweet, comment and respond to others.
  • 13. 5 Things to Never Do • Auto-response to follows. • Extreme self-promotion. • Abandon ship during a live event. • Ignore your analytics. • Appropriate a hashtag without reading it.
