Twitter has the potential to be used as an "electronic grapevine" for both positive and negative outcomes. [1] Positively, it can help spread accurate and useful information to help customer support, small businesses, and improve employee efficiency. [2] However, there are also latent negative impacts like spreading misinformation that can damage customer confidence or break interpersonal bonds. [3] Managers must draw clear lines on appropriate use, such as only using Twitter personally outside work hours and not disclosing confidential information. They should also monitor content for privacy and legal compliance. [4] While archiving tweets in libraries and Google provides historical value, some users are concerned it could infringe on privacy if past tweets are accessible
Business India May 2010 - Twitter Cover StoryIffort
Business India recently did a cover story about Twitter & Life in 140 characters.
Data from Iffort Consulting's research was referenced in the report and Daksh Sharma, Co-Founder & Delivery Head was interviewed.
We know it's hard for small businesses to choose the social networks to focus on, which is why we put together this presentation. It breaks down the social networks by demographics and common interests so your business can choose the most effective networks to drive sales.
A decade ago, the higher education Web experience was segmented into walled gardens -- the public Web site, the course management system, online transactions, alumni communities, events calendars. The legacy of that structure was that our lifelong relationships with the college were interrupted as we students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni moved from system to system.
The next-generation online ecosystem will let us re-organize these experiences, allowing for deepening engagement throughout our lives: from prospective student to elder alum. How will software like WordPress fit in? How can we evaluate, select, and configure systems to support our users' needs, rather than the other way around?
Connectr8 - Exploding The Barriers To Social Computing (UKLUG 2009)Stuart McIntyre
My presentation to the UK Lotus User Group (UKLUG) in Edinburgh, 8 October 2009.
Aimed at relative newcomers to Enterprise 2.0 and Social Software, I spoke about the reasons why social computing is important, some of the challenges to gaining investment in the tools and driving adoption, and how to break through these barriers.
I try to make my presentations very visual, so these slides may not make a huge amount of sense on their own, so if you need any additional information, please get in touch!

Putting the SPARK into Virtual Training.pptxCynthia Clay
This 60-minute webinar, sponsored by Adobe, was delivered for the Training Mag Network. It explored the five elements of SPARK: Storytelling, Purpose, Action, Relationships, and Kudos. Knowing how to tell a well-structured story is key to building long-term memory. Stating a clear purpose that doesn't take away from the discovery learning process is critical. Ensuring that people move from theory to practical application is imperative. Creating strong social learning is the key to commitment and engagement. Validating and affirming participants' comments is the way to create a positive learning environment.
Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

7. Naoh Glass
• Glass developed an application that allowed a user to enter an audio blog
entry from a remote cell phone location. His small start-up, known as
AudBlog, was eventually folded into a partnership with Evan Williams, of
Blogger.com fame to create the company Odeo.
• In 2006, while with Odeo, Glass helped to create and develop the seed
idea for what would eventually become known as Twitter. Not only was
Glass the prime motivating force leading to its eventual development, he
is acknowledged as being responsible for coining the name "twttr", the
earliest form of the company's name.
