I chose to follow Shannon Smith. She is a principal in Ottawa, Canada. She mostly
tweets about new ideas. She wants to improve the academic atmosphere by letting
students ask questions. Improving study skill and optimizing learning are also
important to Principal Smith. She tweets about new books to read and how to make
children divergent in all of their studies. She also talks about the difference between
grades and descriptive feedback. I think Principal Smith is a very bright woman that
has wonderful and innovative ideas to further the education of children in Ottawa,
Canada.

I chose to follow George Couros. He is a Principal of Innovative Teaching and
Learning. He has a large number of people that follow him. Unlike Principal Smith,
he doesn’t always tweet about educational things. He sometimes tweets about cats
and how to use hashtags. However, he seems to reply to educators and answers
their questions about some of his tweets. He is all about improving productivity in
the classroom. He also tweets inspiring quotes to motivate educators to do their
best everyday. I think that many people in the education field would enjoy following
him because he tries to encourage educators by quotes and links that can help them
in their classrooms.

I chose to follow Steven Anderson. He is an educator. He is inspiring educators to
require student participation by critical thinking and project- based learning. Like
Principal Couros, Steven Anderson inspires educators by quotes and books they can
read. He tweets about how to “Reinvent the classroom” and social media tips that

2. you can use in the classroom. He follows other educators and replies when people
ask questions about certain topics that he tweets about. Critical Thinking is also
important to Steven Anderson. He wants the children to enjoy what they learn by
using 21st Century Education, and is helping educators accomplish this by giving
them tools that they will need to accomplish this.

I chose to follow David Truss. Like Steven Anderson, David Truss is an educator. He
tweets videos and links to books for teachers and educators to watch and comment
on. He replies to people’s comments and ideas and encourages them to speak out
and voice their opinions. David Truss also tweets links to activities and ideas about
new assessments that can be used in the classroom. Like the other three people I
followed, he also posts encouraging quotes to educators. I think that encouraging
others is important, especially in the education field. It is so easy to get discouraged
about certain things, and encouragement from people who know what you’re going
through can be a great help in times of need.

I followed Harold Blanco. He is my professor for my CI-350 class. He tweets many
things about exercise and fitness. He also posts educational topics as well. He posts
videos and how teachers can use technology in the classroom. He has many
resources that will help teachers and educators incorporate technology in their
daily curriculum. Like the other four people I have followed, he doesn’t post
encouraging quotes, phrases, or links to encouraging things. He doesn’t follow
anyone, but seems to have over 400 followers. I think that Harold Blanco should
incorporate blogs, pictures, and links to websites in his tweets.
