Male turtles will court females by circling and biting them, while shy males may hiss or growl. The males and females will interact through bobbing, swaying, touching, and smelling each other. After finding a mate, the female digs a nest, lays eggs that the male then fertilizes, and she covers the nest before leaving and never returning.

Sea turtles can remain underwater for up to 5 hours without surfacing and can survive for up to 365 days without eating if food is scarce. They emit a foul odor when threatened. Male and female sea turtles are difficult to distinguish except during breeding seasons. Snapping turtles hibernate in mud during winter and males remain in water at all times while females leave water only to lay eggs on land. Robots
Robots are machines that are programmed to act like humans. They have sensors that scan their environment and collect information. Some robots compete in soccer games, explore the ocean floor and deep ocean areas to search for mines, sunken ships, and coral reefs. Other robots work in space, both inside and outside of space stations, using tools to do repairs or help astronauts move around. Space probes are robots that collect data as they explore distant parts of space, land on unexplored planets, or drift for long periods.

Although the eye of the hurricane may seem calm, it is dangerous because the full force of the storm surrounds it and will return. The most powerful hurricane on record is Sandy, which caused a large fire when it hit one town. Hurricanes are capable of destroying homes, buildings, and anything in their paths, which is why evacuation and shelter are important during these strong storms.
Chocolate
Chocolate comes from cacao trees that are grown on plantations near the equator. While chocolate was first used as a drink by ancient Mexicans and Central Americans, today it is popular worldwide and consumed in many forms like ice cream, cake, and candy. The process of making chocolate involves harvesting ripe cacao pods, roasting and shelling the beans, grinding them into a smooth paste, mixing in other ingredients through conching, and pouring the mixture into molds.
Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty is a sculpture of a lady holding a torch that has stood as a symbol of American freedom for over 100 years. It was a gift from France that represents a strong, united United States and has been used to raise money during times of war by showing pictures of the massive statue, which at 300 feet tall weighs as much as 45 elephants and holds a torch in one hand and a tablet in the other.

Octopi use jet propulsion and ink to evade predators. They can suck in water through a siphon and shoot it out quickly to propel themselves away or release ink to blind and confuse predators. Octopi have many offspring but the mother dies after laying her eggs. The babies are very small but have instincts to survive on their own. Octopi come in many varieties and can change color, produce venomous ink, and eat a wide range of prey from crabs to fish and sharks.
Hawks2
Hawks are carnivorous birds that eat other birds, rats, insects, and small animals. They swoop down from trees or rooftops to catch prey in their talons or beaks. Hawks mate for life after performing a courtship dance, and females lay 2-5 eggs that both parents take turns incubating like penguins. Hawks live worldwide in warm climates and build nests in trees, on rooftops, or directly on the ground.
Bass

Students were asked to create an object using 100 pattern blocks and present their creation to the class. Several groups presented unique creations such as The Shapester, The Burning Sunset, Star, Colaro, Rob, The Sword Ship, The Mighty Eye of Wisdom, and Hexy. Each creation was given a name and described in terms of the pattern blocks used and what shapes or things the creation could transform into.
Alaska
Alaska has a diverse array of wildlife that have adapted to survive the harsh climate, including the state bird willow ptarmigan which changes color with the seasons. Native Americans were the first humans in Alaska over 10,000 years ago, hunting sea mammals and traveling by kayak and dog sled. Alaska has a long history, becoming a US state after being purchased from Russia in 1859. The state experiences extreme temperatures from -50 degrees F in winter to 32 degrees F in summer. Alaska also has immense natural beauty with mountains, glaciers, and plants like the state flower Alpine forget-me-not.

The Statue of Liberty was originally constructed in parts, including a 20 foot tall hand holding a torch, created by Bartholdi. When fully assembled, the statue weighed as much as 45 elephants and held a tablet in her head commemorating July 4, 1776. The statue was built over time with different sections, eventually forming the iconic figure welcoming immigrants to New York Harbor.
Baseball
Baseball has a long history, with the first printed baseball dating back to 1744. It grew tremendously in popularity during the American Civil War, as soldiers would play for leisure during their free time. The first organized little league team was formed by Carl Stotz, who scheduled the first official little league games. Today, over 100,000 youth teams compete in little league divisions across different age groups and locations, with only 16 teams left competing by August each year in the Little League World Series.
Tornados
A tornado causes destruction with very strong winds that can destroy buildings and pick up cars, throwing them through the air. Tornadoes usually only affect a narrow area but can hurl icy hailstones that hurt people and animals. It is important to take shelter and never stay in a car when a tornado warning is issued because the powerful winds can easily pick up and throw vehicles high into the sky.
Gorillas
A gorilla's body is adapted for survival in the dense jungle environment. Gorillas have longer arms than legs to help them balance their heavy weight and swing through trees as they travel, and strong teeth to grind food, rip vines, protect young, and defend themselves. Their opposable thumbs and toes assist in carrying babies and eating food.
American flag
The American flag has gone through several revisions throughout history. The first official flag had 13 stars and stripes and was created in 1777, though it is now believed Francis Hopkinson designed it rather than Betsy Ross. Over time, acts were passed establishing guidelines for caring for the flag and rituals like the Pledge of Allegiance. The modern 50-star flag was designed by a 17-year old boy. Early flags also included symbols of rattlesnakes representing American courage.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. Box turtles eat snakes, Fish, bugs, plants, fungi and mushrooms. Snapping turtles eat turtles, salamanders, bugs, frogs, water birds, fish and allege.
- 5. A turtle shell on its back. The shell is colorful The shell is extremely hard almost unbreakable! The shell is so hard because it protects its self from predators. Turtles also have claws to help them dig. Turtles are reptiles that means they are cold blooded.
