100th Day of School Math Activity
2. Pattern Block Math Activity
• Students were asked to create something with 100 pattern blocks of
their choice.
• After they created their shape or object, they completed a chart with
all the shapes they used. They identified the name of the shape, the
line segments, angles and vertices.
• They were then asked to give their creation a name. They were asked
to write a few sentences about their creation as well.
• Their final task, was to present their creation to the class.

The Shapester
The sides have different shapes.
They are not the same. The top
and bottom are parallel. There is
a pattern in the middle. There
are 2 blues, 2 greens and 3 reds.
The Shapester shape shifts into
anything. It can turn into a
vehicle, boat or an animal! It is
made out of shapes like
hexagons, trapezoids,
rhombuses, parrellograms and
squares.

The Burning Sunset
The burning sunset is supposed
to be a sun. It looks over the
whole world. It protects the
land and water. It can make
more of itself. It is made out of
hexagons, rhombuses,
parrellograms, and triangles.
There are also see squares.

Star
Star was created from one
hexagon, 6 trapezoids, 67
parrellograms and 36 rhombuses.
We named it Star because it looks
like a star. In the middle, it looks
like a flower. It can turn into a
planet, sun jellyfish or a squid. At
night, Star is the first star out. If it
is dark out, it comes out and
shines. It is the brightest star.

Colaro
Colaro is a big shape made
out of rainbow colors. It
protects the Universe and all
the planets, especially Earth.
It is made out of hexagons,
trapezoids, rhombuses and
triangles. If anybody tries to
get near it, they will instantly
be caught in a rainbow ball
and will float around space
forever.

Rob
Rob is a creation of shapes. It
can be a fish and it can be
Mickey Mouse. It could be a
robot and it can turn into a
car. It is made out of
hexagons, rhombuses,
parrellograms, triangles and
squares.
8. Preston and Tyler
The Sword Ship
The Sword Ship got its name
because it looks like a rocket
ship shaped like a sword. It
can go into the sea and in to
volcanos. It can turn into a
flame thrower. It is made out
of a lot of squares, triangles,
rhombuses and a hexagon.
The orange, red and yellow
stuff on the bottom is fire.

The Mighty Eye of
Wisdom
It lives in the center of the
Universe. It created lots of things
we have on Earth today, such as
rocks, leaves and grass. He can
turn into a turtle or a dragon. He
looks over all the planets. He can
fly around. His favorite food is
peanut butter. He dips pickles into
peanut butter. He is made out of
squares, hexagons, trapezoids,
parrellograms, triangles and
rhombuses.
10. Michael and Cam
Hexy
Hexy is an alien. He has tiny
wings and three eyes. He is
made out of mostly hexagons.
That is why he is named Hexy.
He can pinch a planet to death
with his pinchers. He is so
giant, he can do that. He has a
giant crown on his head. He has
really tiny wings. He has a big,
chubby mouth. He is made out
of hexagons, trapezoids,
rhombuses, triangles and
parrellograms.
