Treatment - Opening sequences By Stacey, Nancy, Robyn and Sam
Product Our opening sequence will run for 2 minutes The opening will be an teen action film based in the heart of London The plot – A 17 year old girl who is attending college is an undercover agent, and her Dad runs MI5. She finds out he is working for the enemy and her mission is to save London.
Target Audience Will be 16-20's, male and female gender. Will be at school or at college possibly UNI. Attitudes of the audience will be visiting the cinema and being thrilled by the action genre. But will enjoy the humour and light hearted side of the teen genre. They will respond by enjoying the opening part of the film. As a group we have researched into the action genre being influenced with the classic titles such as the James Bond films.
Context Our product will be shown to fellow class members 6 th Formers in our year group This will effect the design by showing them the opening sequence that is based around a girl of there age, someone they can relate to, feel what she may be feeling or have felt. In a country where they live, with landmarks they have seen
Media Languages What will the style of product be? How will you use forms and conventions? (lighting, camerawork, sound, structure of trailer) To get a good mark, whatever you produce should actually use the forms and conventions in an imaginative and visually appealing way - try to plan something extraordinary and eye-catching. Make you content rich in connotation.
Institutions The distributor of our film will be ‘Insomniac Pictures’ Our production company is called: ‘ Just Press Play’ The way in which we came up with this name was through an interactive approach to film making. As we would be making this film the four of us, on a low budget.
Representations We will not be using stereotypical representations of an action genre with a girl playing the heroin. As she is a school girl and an undercover agent, which in most action films you would normally have a male playing the lead part. The other 2 characters the Mother and Father, are very dysfunctional characters. Which is contrasted in most films from being the norm.
Genre We will include the usual genre conventions but instead of a man 'hero' we will be using woman. To make a different impression on the audience. We will include typical iconography like pictures settings of London including the MI5 building and London scenery. Again we have researched into the action genre by analysing codes and conventions in the James Bond films.
