3. A shot list is simply that – a list of all of the shots in your film. When you
have completed your screenplay, a shot list is a great way to imagine how
it will look on the screen. You simply make a list of all the shots in your
film from beginning to end.
The production process is very important as we can transform words on
paper into colour, emotion and life on screen.
There are many aspects to pre-production planning, but we're just going
to focus on two of them here: the storyboard and the shot list. As we are
working on a small production, then we will be doing everything ourselves.
Saba and I decided to create a rough shot list so when it comes to filming
our trailer it is much clearer as well as saving more time as we will know
what shots to use which can limit disagreements as well as making our
thought process more clearer and so this then can lead to us both not
wasting time on making various shot lists whilst filming and so this can
benefit us both as we are more likely to make a better trailer as a result of
early and clear decision making.
