Drama comes from the Greek word meaning "to do" and is defined as an "imitation of action." It is different from fiction in that it is meant to be performed on stage. Plays tell a story through dialogue and description like fiction, but are written to be performed in front of an audience. Drama imitates human life and experiences through the speech and movements of actors on stage. It shows human interactions and relationships in a meaningful way. Drama makes use of other art forms like architecture, lighting, music and sound to enhance the interpretation of performances.
