A device which works on touchscreen technology is coined as Touchscreen. A touchscreen is an electronic visual display capable of 'detecting' and effectively 'locating' a touch over its display area. It is sensitive to the touch of a human finger, hand, pointed finger nail and passive objects like stylus.

7. Dr. Samuel Hurst
The father of the touch screen
technology is Dr. Samuel Hurst. In
1971, while he was working as an
instructor at the University of
Kentucky Research Foundation, he
had to read a great volume of
information during the graduation
exams. In an effort to save some
time he invented the first touch
sensor that he called “Еlo
graph”(electronic graphics), which
allowed him to enter data faster.
