Alcohol Should Be Illegal Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of whether alcohol should be illegal is undoubtedly a challenging
endeavor. The subject is multifaceted, involving a complex interplay of social, economic, and
health-related factors. As a writer, one must navigate through a myriad of perspectives, taking
into account historical contexts, cultural nuances, and the potential consequences of such a
drastic policy change.
Addressing this topic requires a delicate balance, as it involves tackling deeply ingrained societal
norms and individual freedoms. Presenting a compelling argument involves extensive research to
understand the historical trajectory of alcohol regulation, the impact of prohibition in the past,
and the potential ramifications of implementing a similar policy today.
Moreover, the essay must delve into the social implications, considering issues like public health,
crime rates, and the functioning of the economy. Scrutinizing the various stances on this matter,
ranging from public health advocates to defenders of personal liberties, adds an additional layer
of complexity.
The challenge lies not only in presenting a well-reasoned argument but also in addressing
counterarguments effectively. Anticipating and responding to opposing viewpoints demands
thorough research and a nuanced understanding of the complexities surrounding the issue.
Furthermore, the emotional aspect of the topic cannot be overlooked. Alcohol consumption is
deeply ingrained in many cultures, and discussions around its legality often evoke strong
emotions. Crafting an essay that maintains objectivity while acknowledging these emotional
dimensions requires a skilled and empathetic approach.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the proposition that alcohol should be illegal is a formidable
task that demands meticulous research, a nuanced understanding of various perspectives, and the
ability to navigate the emotional landscape surrounding the topic. Only with a comprehensive
grasp of the subject matter can one present a well-rounded and persuasive argument.

Problem of Congestion in Cellular Network
Shiva Nageswara Rao Bandereddy (sbandere@hawk.iit.edu)
College of Science Department
Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA.
Abstract In the next few years there will be an exponential grow in mobile data
traffic due to the tremendous growth in mobile data like audio, video kind of
different multimedia application. Cellular network operators invest huge amount to
make their infrastructure better like installing new cell tower and offloading data
traffic from cellular to the Wi Fi so that they can efficiently prevent congestion. We
all have observed call drops during the conversation at some time which is very
annoying and so this congestion problem gives hard time to customer and so the
service provider too. In this project, I want to research what are the main reason for
the congestion of the cellular network and how it can be avoided or minimized.
Index Terms Mobile, CAGR, Cisco, Congestion
I.INTRODUCTION
Congestion of networks is a network state where a node of link carries huge amount
of data that may deteriorate network service quality, resulting in queuing delay,
frame or data packet loss and the blocking of new connections. There could be a
possible reason for a congestion like insufficient bandwidth, when network data
exceeds its capacity.
Wireless mobile network is independent?
When we think of a cellular network it is not a completely wireless network. No one
has completely independent wireless network.

There are several stories that have monkey as an important character. In Hindu
culture, the most famous monkey character is Hanuman, from the great
Ramayana. Similar to Lutung, Hanuman is also a son of a goddess. The different
is that Lutung is actually born in a human form, while Hanuman is originally born
as a monkey. Another story that has monkey as its character is Journey to the West
. The character is a monkey, which is also named Monkey. Same with Lutung,
Monkey in this story goes to a place which is not his origin place. Monkey is also
shown to be a good leader in his society. Lutung is also a good leader for all other
animals and pohaci in the forest where Purbasari is exiled. The major different
between these two characters, Hanuman and Monkey, with Lutung is their behavior.
Lutung is a very well behaved and virtuous character, while Hanuman is considered
naughty as the gods, that he is punished by not being able to remember his ability,
and Monkey often brings chaos, that he is punished by his
Origin And Nature Of Anthrax
Origin and nature The earliest appearance of Anthrax occurred around 700 BC
mostly affecting cattle, sheep, horses, and oxen. The people of Egypt and
Mesopotamia at the time called it the 5th plague and the name Anthrax derives from
the word coal, similar to the black skin leisures it produces. The first clinical cases of
Anthraxwere described around 1752 and 1769 by Maret and Fournier respectively
(Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2016). Scientist Robert Kochwas the first
to study Bacillusanthracis in a clinical setting, in 1877 he developed the first
microbial etiology. It was in the 1800 s that Anthrax was titled the woolsorters
disease due to its relation with animal hair or wool from sheep (Center for Disease
Control and Prevention, 2016). Bacillus anthracis is an aerobic, spore forming,
nonmotile, monomorphic bacteria with little to no genetic diversity. Anthrax
spores are able to lay dormant for long periods of time allowing it to survive more
than 40 years in the soil, 80 years in a vial, and 200 years in bones (Friedlander,
336). Bacillus anthracis is therefore known as a risk group 3 organism (Agren et al.,
2014). This is part of what makes Anthrax such a risk, but more commonly Anthrax
contamination in the soil only lasts for a few months and rarely for more than a few
years when microbial competition exists in that soil (Friedlander, 336). It was
without this information that traders, shipped infected sheep, cattle and other
animals around
Designing A Mousetrap Powered Device
The purpose of this project is to design and construct a mousetrap powered device
that could move a hacky sack along a rectangular track 2 meters wide x 15 meter
long. The device must not be powered by any outside source. It must be a product of
creative and innovative solution with the application of the fundamentals of
engineering. The device must also incorporate the five solution criteria; novel
solution (device must be surprising), effective solution (hacky sack should travel at
least 15 meters), elegant solution (device should be simple and understandable),
germinal solution (opens up new ideas) and lastly the creativity of the device. This
project also aims to help develop the capabilities of each student as a team member
in a group work activity.
2Creativity in Design
The team started the process by doing individual research and drawing a design plan
for the most ideal device to build. We started brainstorming and suggested several
ideas of devices, such as, a three wheel and a four wheel car, a catapult device and a
flying mousetrap device. Afterwards we have come up with several factors to
consider in choosing which device to build. These are as follows;
It is simple and easy to build
Must have enough force to carry the hacky sack for more than 15 meters
The materials needed are cheap and easy to find
The device must be aesthetically pleasing but must remain to provide sufficient
functionality
Most of all, must incorporate the five solution criteria
The Cruelty of Female Circumcision
According to The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, It is estimated
that between 100 million and 140 million girls and women worldwide have
received FGC. There are more than 3 million girls at risk of having FGC each year
(DHHS). Circumcision can be preformed on both males and females. It is common a
common practice among western cultures to preform circumcisions on males. Female
circumcision is uncommon and is illegal in most countries and considered a violation
of human rights.
Male circumcision is done by removing the foreskin around the head of the penis and
is usually done 1 2 days after birth. According to the Centers for Disease Control,
Male circumcision reduces the risk that a man will acquire HIV from an infected
female partner, and also lowers the risk of other STDs, penile cancer, and infant
urinary tract infection. For female partners, male circumcision reduces the risk of
cervical cancer, genital ulceration, bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, and HPV.
Although male circumcision has risks including pain, bleeding, and infection, more
serious complications are rare (1). Another risk includes, decrease in sensitivity. In
other words, there are both benefits and risks to male circumcision. The cause of
male circumcision is health benefits and religious reasons.
Female circumcision is also known as female genital mutilation, it is illegal in the
United States of America and many other countries. There are two main ways that is
preformed. The first
Zombie Apocalypse Disasters
There are all kinds of emergencies that we can prepare for; a zombie apocalypse is
one of them. Zombies may be fictional, but natural disasters are a very real concern
in which we would take the same precautions. To prepare for those kinds of
outbreaks, you should have a well structured plan.
During a disaster such as a zombie apocalypse, shelter is a vital part in surviving.
With zombies running rampant across the city, we must have a safe and secure
shelter for all citizens to hide out until the apocalypse is over. With that being said,
what kind of building should we provide, and where should these types of shelters be
placed? These buildings will be placed underground, so that the zombies are unable to
reach the citizens and resources we have packed inside. To enter these types of
buildings, all people will have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cell phones and the internet will quickly become useless. This leaves Amateur
Radios as the most reliable form of communication in a disaster. Amateur Radios,
also known as ham radios, are able to work on a frequency that cannot be taken
down due to towers falling or electricity failing. Through these, you can
communicate with other groups that are functioning far away from you. There is
also a list of emergency radio frequencies that are extremely useful in case of a
disaster. For example, frequency 39.46 is use or state police forces, 154.28 is used
for the fire department, and 462.675 is used for a General Mobile Radio Service.
This can also be used to communicate with other groups and task forces within the
town. It is possible to do so by sending inter departmental messages to the
frequencies above. By sending these messages you can not only communicate to the
leaders of each group, but can also communicate to the public. Communication is a
vital resource to use in the survival of a zombie

Benefits of Indian Gaming and its role in Global Development of Tribal Nations
Indigenous peoples throughout the world have suffered and continue to suffer ever
since white people stepped foot onto their lands. In the Americas, countless incidents
of genocide and blatant violations of human rights have occurred time and time again.
Those indigenous to North America, known commonly as Indians or Native
Americans, have faced an immense amount of racism, hatred, and oppression on the
very same land that was once their own, before it was stolen by the colonists. Native
Americans have faced economic hardships that are unmatched by any other race in
the United States; the statistics are absolutely staggering and horrifying to know that

There is a myth that the native peoples of the Americas were ever conquered,
assimilated, wiped out, or that they never even existed. The fact is that Native
Americans have been consistent with their refusal to assimilate into white culture and
to trade in their traditional values for capitalistic materialism, and they have
continued to survive in a country that essentially tried to kill off their race through
various means of termination, relocation, genocide, and other policies that at one
time or another were implemented by the federal government. The American
government viewed Native Americans as a problem that had to be dealt with from
the moment they arrived on this continent. Still today, many federal officials and
bureaucrats continue to view Native Americans as a problem that must be dealt with
accordingly. Tribal nationshave suffered centuries of turmoil, as the federal
government implemented a series of policies to deal with the Indian problem and
drive Natives close to extinction. Around 1900 is when the Native American
population in the United States reached its nadir with a total American Indian
population of only about 125,000, which had been reduced in a few centuries from 5+
million. Removal, reservations, and allotment contributed to the declining

learners As a teacher and trainer I have found that one of the simplest ways to
make learning accessible to both myself and to those I am teaching is by relating
to real life situations and circumstances that I have faced. If one takes the approach
of trying to memorise lists of facts of how to deal with First Aid situations the
information becomes more difficult to absorb and less likely to be retained.
Context can help provide a more intuitive framework for people s skills, whether it
is as simple as telling a story that can be recalled if and when relevant or even if it

All literature for the course can be checked beforehand (if necessary) to confirm
the level of literacy. Basic numeracy skills are essential to any professional career,
though having a calculator on hand can assist if a trainer does come into
numerical difficulty. People skills are really the most important and pressing skills
to have as a teacher and I would suggest that a degree of psychological
understanding is implied within the definition of being a teacher/trainer. There is
however, a big difference between a nervous student and one with a medical
condition that needs more specialised help and in extreme cases referral to a
medical professional would be required. Mentoring and being a role model is
equally implicit and should extend to all values of being a human being and not
just those related to First Aid. I believe that, in this regard, there can not be any real
boundary to how a teacher/trainer can act. List and describe the points of referral to
meet the needs of the learners There should be no need to signpost learners to
someone with greater knowledge of First Aid, nor should there be another trainer
with more appropriate teaching style, as different teaching styles can be used by
anyone. If someone is struggling with a language barrier that seems insurmountable,
a trainer can recommend a different teacher who may be better able to communicate
with a learner (perhaps in a different language, by signing for a deaf student etc.)

St. Augustine s Confessions And Dante s Inferno
In St. Augustine s Confessions and Dante s Inferno, the central characters in their
respective narratives are presented a message from which induces distinct reactions.
More importantly, their reactions are reflections of their perspective concerning the
Christian outlook towards life and passion.
In Book VIII.xi (29) the reader finds St. Augustine in a state of despair and anguish
because of his ongoing internal struggle between his mind and body. Afterwards, he
undergoes a surreal experience that ultimately leads to the climax of Confessions, his
conversion to Christianity.
The catalyst for his conversion rests upon none other than a boy or a girl who might
be chanting, per St. Augustine, some sort of children s game (152). The ... Show more

St. Augustine may be referencing the contrast of his experience to that of Noah s by
mentioning flood . While Noah immediately obeyed the given detailed instructions,
St. Augustine is given four words, yet he delays action as he reflects on the example
of Antony, the father of all monks, for guidance. Even though he delays taking action,
the mention of the adverb solely suggest that St. Augustine does take the choice to
perceive, with no reserves, the message as divine. He could have merely attributed
the command as the nursery rhyme, but he did not. Instead, he shows faith and belief
that Noah would not have to demonstrate as the latter directly hears the voice of God.
After he reads Romans 13:13 14, St. Augustine neither wished nor needed to read
further...All the shadows of doubt were dispelled. The conclusion is a four lined
passage which serves as the conclusion of this intense and surreal experience. Once
St. Augustine finally converts, the complexities of his troubles seemingly dissipate.
The reader is left with the understanding that all of St. Augustine s troubles ( the
shadows of doubt ) could have easily been resolved had he been more simple minded
by having had faith ( the light of relief ) earlier in his life. In Dante s Inferno, the
reader witnesses Dante undergo his journey through the nine circles

Othello sweet words changed into sharp ones and he has begun to accuse her of

Rocky 1976
Sports films are one of the most common genres in the movie industry. They
usually have a simple plot leading to a huge sporting event. There are several
different ways to write a sports story: sports, biography, comedy, drama, or even
family movies. The 1976 film Rocky is an excellent example of a sports drama. A
sports drama incorporates dramatic elements into a sports storyline. 1 Rocky is a
classic sports drama. It influenced the filmindustry through its success,
cinematography, and plot. Rocky changed the film industry through its success.

This created a sense of realism that filmmakers try to copy to this day. With such a
low budget, Alvidsen had to make do with what he had so he was forced to film a
small group of people crowded together multiple times to create the feeling of a
large crowd. He also had to ask Stallone to re write some scenes because of their
lack of funds for extras and equipment. This acted as a way to show how gritty and
raw this story really was. Due to the low budget of the film; Alvidsen had to make
do with the resources they had and then incorporated the situation into the plot of
the film. It made the film very realistic and believable. For example, the ice rink
scene was supposed to have a crowded rink. But, they couldn t afford all the extras
so they had to change the script, and it became a closed rink in which the camera
stayed focused on only Rocky and Adrian the whole time. Rocky influenced the film
industry through its plot. The main plot of Rocky is the main character s desire to
make his or her life better. This theme is one of the most common themes in films.
Rocky s effect on this type of theme was monumental though because it was one of
the first of its kind to be made with a small budget, unknown cast, and limited
resources. This proves that this film is unique by showing how differently the

Mrs. Wright As A Woman s Culture Of Social Isolation
Essay
Mrs. Wright in Trifles, Emily in A Rose for Emily, and Mildred in The Hairy Ape
exemplified a woman s culture of social isolation. Condemned in a house alone to
worry only about her wifely duties, Mrs. Wright s husband isolated her from the
community and past self. Pressured by her father, lover, and her own fear of
abandonment, Emily lived a life of isolation from love and her community. Caused
by her many years living in the higher class, Mildred felt isolated from the rest of
society and the lower class. Mrs. Wright, Miss Emily, and Mildred have all been
pushed into seclusion away from general society, in turn causing all three of women
to take drastic measures to break their isolation. The three females in Triffles, A Rose
for Emily, and The Hairy Ape demonstrated the negative effect of social isolation.
Mrs. Wright suffered from social isolation caused by her husband. When Mr. Hale
suggested the family go in with me on a party telephone, Mr. Wright defended
himself by saying he only wanted peace and quiet and seemed to not care what his
wife wanted. Even when Mr. Hale explained to Mrs. Wright the reason behind his
visit was to ask about the telephone, she laughed, but then looked scared. As if she
had been conditioned to suppress her true wishes and desires, unless she wished for
grief. Without the agency and ability to reach out to the other women, Mr. Wright
isolated Mrs. Wright from potential hobbies, social groups, and activities. Before she

Aestheticism In The Decay Of Lying By Oscar Wilde
The literary landscape is a fertile ground for the discussion of many topics, be it
taboos or ordinary subjects, that are seen worthy of representation, drama as a
literary genre is no exception. Being a controversial character known for his
strange if not deviant style of life, Oscar Wilde offers the English literary legacy a
bunch of dramatic works that are still read and subjected to scrutiny till the present
time. His drama holds the seeds of harsh criticism to a certain portion of the society,
namely the upper class of Britain. These targets are selectively chosen to highlight the
codes that govern the social conducts within the aristocrats of the British Society. It is

Mrs. Erlynne, an extremely controversial character who is depicted as being a

characteristics of the Victorian virtuous female; she does not represent the chase

she is rather the model of the fallen woman ( Bose 86). Regardless of her past,
Wilde related the character of Mrs. Erlynne with the most chase figure in the world

There are particular assumptions regarding the racial identity and unique challenges
of multiracial individuals of mixed African American and European American descent
that have arisen based on historical trends. For example, it is assumed that multiracial
individuals have been expected to identify as mono racial African Americans as a
result of legal and social constructions (Monahan, 2014). In addition, theoretical
literature suggests that this group of individuals have faced challenges in their racial
identity development, struggling with various possible racial identities. Racial
identity development and self concept formation begins in childhood and is greatly
affected by the attitudes and interaction of adults. The present study, researched

Even with my personal losses, I can relate to O Brien s views of loss and the

necessary to sometimes remember the happy times lived before the loss, to slowly fill
up the hole that it created in the heart. It s true, losing something is rarely anything to

Similarities Between Roman And Greek Gods
There are many similarities between the Romans and the Greeks such as, how they
worship their gods, their social classes, their arts, and many more.In this paper, I will
be explaining the similarities between the Greek and the Romans.
In both Rome and Greece, the religion was most likely Polytheism or Christianity.
That is, the people that were polytheistic believed in either Roman or Greek gods.
The Roman gods were inspired by the Greek gods, but Greek and Roman
mythology have the same Gods but with different names, because many Roman
Gods are borrowed from Greek mythology. A lot of the stories told about the Roman
gods are somewhat the same as the Greek gods. For example, the story of Jupiter

Instead the women would stay home and raise the kids. In Roman culture, they
allowed their women to get an education, to join the army, and they didn t become

Another reason way to that Greek and Rome have similar culture is through the
social classes. Social classes are a division of a society based on social and
economic status. In Greece, the society was divided into slaves, freedmen, metics,
citizens, and women. Rome had slaves, freedmen, plebeians, and patricians. In
ancient Greece, it was said that slavery was natural and nessacary. According to
Aristotle, the slave whole day was sum up in three work work, discipline, and
feeding . The reason for why I think that they similar is because of the way they

The Martha Rules By Martha Stewart
The Martha Rules follows in the footsteps of Martha Stewart, where she analyzes and
suggests many strong features in the business world and in life as well. Looking into
the business world, I saw it from a student point of view; scary, intimidating, and
uneasy to figure out. Analyzing the title, The Martha Rules, I expected a book with a
multitude of rules that would be explained minimally with little experience and
background. From watching Martha Stewart, I understood her fame account and her
role in television shows, news, and cooking. The Martha Rules brought to my
attention the impact Martha Stewart brought to the business world as well as
television, real estate, and other areas while learning through different experiences

In my personal life, I have experience with promoting events of my church,
Northridge Fellowship church in Rogers, Mn. When I decided to organize and host
a Girl s Night for the girls in the youth group, I had to be creative in how I was
promoting my audience to attend the event because I needed to reach a specific
audience of various ages. Using creativity and also common sense, I promoted
through various forms of social media, email, posters, and other products that
brought fifty girls to the event with over half of the girls being brand new to
Northridge Fellowship church. In conclusion, being creative when thinking of ways
to promote information needs to be used in all tactics of a strategy. Key concepts
such as getting an audience s opinion on products and/or companies is essential for
keeping a relationship intact between the public and a company. On page 9 of The
Martha Rules, Martha Stewart (Stewart) explains the importance of having an
audience trust a business and how engaging with the audience brought a better
relationship with a company and the public (Stewart, 9). An example in life is from
the new Amazon football television program, Amazon gains daily customers and with
their trust, the customers will pay for the football program to save money on
watching the game rather than on television or in person (Novy Williams). Amazon

Benefits and Methods of Achieving Home Energy Efficiency
Achieving Home Energy Efficiency: The achievement of home energy efficiency is a
process that basically entails the reduction of unnecessary energy consumption,
lessening the emissions of greenhouse gases, and lowering the demands of non
renewable energy resources. Such efforts are taken to ensure energy efficiency, which
in turn provides healthier living conditions and resulting in considerable money
savings. Furthermore, the achievement of home energy efficiency is beneficial to the
nation because it promotes cleaner air and a healthier living environment. Through
these initiatives, the nation can effectively protect the climate from diverse effects
by lowering greenhouse gases. While there are various measures suggested for
reducing energy use, homeowners can be involved in the process by embracing
energy efficient initiatives in daily practices. Energy efficient processes at home
include behavioral changes, managing electrical appliances efficiently, investing in
home weatherization, and education. Behavioral Measures: Behavioral measures
towards achieving home energy efficiency can be described as the necessary
lifestyle changes that an individual should take. The first process in the behavioral
approach towards energy efficiency is to identify any energy loss taking place
through conducting an inspection (Tremblay, 2012). The inspection will help in
identifying the problem areas for inefficient energy use or loss and prioritizing these
areas based on the

1.0 Introduction
The majority of world s economies prosper on the availability and affordability of
fossil fuels such as petroleum to drive machineries and cars. The utilisation of high
density carbon fuel has accelerated the productivity of the human race since the
industrial revolution. However, the dependence on a finite energy resource has led to
the development of the peak oil theory and the ongoing debate of whether the oil
industry has reached the production peak. As the oil production dwindles, looking for
an energy source that will drive the prosperity of the human race in the future became
one of the highest priorities.

and the men were the bread winners in the family. Mr. Smith has witnessed some
incredible changes in society over his lifetime, most of which he believes is for the

The Best Practices For Addressing Refugee Adjustment
Q: What are the Best Practices for Addressing Refugee Adjustment Issues while they
are Living in Transition Camps?
(Krishna Prasad Subedi)
Literature Review
War refugees are defined in many ways. Those people who have been forced to flee
his or her country due to the war, violence, persecution crime and murder they called
refugee. They have a kind of fear of persecution because of religion, race, nationality,
political ideology or support in particular social groups or parties. Wessels, W. K.
(2014, p.9) has mentioned that refugees are no longer able to live safely in their
home countries due to a well founded fear of being persecuted for their religion,
nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion (United
Nations, 2008, p.4). In turn, refugees are forcibly displaced to countries outside of
their country of origin seeking safety and protection (2008). Refugees are defined
as people who experienced or are at risk of experiencing persecution so much so that
a person s freedom and life would be or was threatened by the threat of death, or the
threat of torture, or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment (2008, p. 3) .
Capps, R., Newland, K. (2015) have discussed refugee resettlement policy in USA
from different perspectives such for example how to address the primarily pre and
post migration issue. In this seminal work the author has discussed the increasing
diversity of large US refugee populations may be making it more
How Did Paul Klee Influence Contemporary Artists
Paul Klee s artwork remains a constant controversy in subject matter and validity of
uniqueness. In order for one to analyze and critique his work, one would have to
understand the metamorphosis of his life experiences, which influenced his creative
philosophy and images he chose to express. His diverse body of work cannot be
confined to any particular artistic movement. In seeking to develop his personal style,
he produced a body of work embodying Impressionism, Cubism, Constructivism, and
abstraction which influenced the works of 20th century contemporary artists. Evident
throughout his oeuvre, the inspiration of contemporary artists and his ideologies of
rhythmic structures and the spiritual nature of artistic expression determined the art...

He studied art at the Munich Academy training in conventional figure and landscape

Rome and studied the Old Masters in the Louvre. In Germany he was attentive of the
Munich exhibitions of Impressionists and Post Impressionists painting and was
particularly intrigued by the works of van Gogh, CГ©zanne, and Matisse
(Temkin). In 1912, he viewed the work of Cubists and Italian Futurists in
exhibitions and was compelled by the color theories of Robert Delaunay s art

Bacterial vaginosis has a lactobacilli dominant environment that is located in the
vagina. The microbes that are associated with bacterial vaginosis are anaerobes.
Anaerobes is an organism that live without oxygen and can still grow. The anaerobes
in bacterial vaginosis are Prevotella, Peptostreptococcus, Eubacterium, Mobiluncus,
Mycoplasma, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus, and Gardnerella
(Livoti,Topp). The anaerobe that is most responsible for BV is Gardnerella.
Gardnerella is the bacteria that dominates the vagina and it has gram negative rods.
The bacterium alerts the PH, odor, and secrets thick discharge from the vagina. The
symptoms are itching, burning during urination, inflammation. The bacteria can
cause complications and it can increase risk of other diseases (Sefcik). BV can be
associated with pelvic inflammatory disease and it can allow organisms that cause

Josephine Baker Analysis
Josephine Baker reached the height of her fame during the 1920s, however, she
still was not able to speak about her work and explain what her performances were
trying to convey. This left the audience to decipher the performances for
themselves, while doing so this highlighted the racism that was still apparent in
France. In Phyllis Rose s book Jazz Cleopatra: Josephine Baker in Her Time She
shows quotes from the tabloids saying, We can t find a way to tie the scenes
together, but everything we ve ever read flashes across our enchanted
minds...glimpses of enormous steamboats swallowing clusters of Negros who

Negre interpreted her show based on what they understood Africa to be. Baker was
able to make a lasting impact with her unique look and style and was able to
entertain crowds with her rubber legs (Rose, 1991) and crossed eyes (Rose, 1991)
during a time in which racism was the norm. While she did not exercise complete
control over her own image (Jules Rosette 2007) she used the stage as a way of
expressing herself which she could not do with her voice. In doing so Baker has
influenced many performers today. Most notably she inspired BeyoncГ©

What Does It Mean You Be Well Educated By Alfie Kohn
Essay
In his essay What Does It Mean To Be Well Educated, Alfie Kohn challenges the
current standards that people consider crucial in order for a person to be considered
well educated and explores some interesting questions that help provide the reader
with a completely different understanding, perspective, and possibility for standards
of good education. At the beginning, Kohn explains how people can argue about
the purpose of education, but then fail to realize and recognize whether or not
education has truly been successful. Then, Kohn provides the reader with an
example of his wife, a successful physician who completed her study for doctoral
dissertation in anthropology from Harvard, yet still lacks some educational basics
that people consider necessary factors to possess in order for a person to fit in the
defined group of well educated individuals. (Kohn 231 232). After that, Kohn
explores some definitions that people set as essential measurements for determining
whether or not a person is well educated and explains why all these standard
definitions fail to either evaluate a person s knowledgeor make a person
knowledgeable. For example, many people consider test scores, seat time, job skills,
and memorization of facts as indicators of well education. However, Kohn explains
that sitting in class for a certain amount of time, reducing schooling to vocational
preparation...to suit the demands of employers, receiving high results on tests, and
memorization of pieces of

Gravity Vs. To Build A Fire
Andrei Cozma
Gravity
Gravity is a science fiction movie directed by Alfonso CuarГіn, having as central
themes the fragility, vulnerability of the humans facing the harsh, ruthless outer
space, as well as mankind s ability to survive and recover from disasters, and after
all, to restart its evolution. Gravity can be compared to Jack London s tale To Build
a Fire transposed into space, a man versus nature story, because Gravity is not a
movie about space, but about the way humans, frail and vulnerable, adapt to it. The
dependence of humans on Earth is also depicted in The World Below the Brine . The
astronauts are ambitious characters far away from Earth and from everything that
means a normal life. The same ambition and detachment from society ... Show more

The concept of mankind s ability to rebirth and continue its evolution are presented
in many scenes in the movie. A suggestive imagery related to the formation of life
is found in the scene where Dr. Stone rests in a position similar to a fetus before
birth. The film ends with an allegory of the emergence of mankind, when Dr. Stone
struggles to get out of the ocean after landing on Earth, looking like a primitive
creature, then grabs the soil with her hands and gradually regains her ability to stand
upright and walk like humans. Another imagery, related to Creation, is the
breathtakingly beautiful sunrise shown by the astronauts over the Earth. These
imageries have been included in the movie to convey a couple of messages to the
public in an artistic manner. The filmmakers tried to emphasize that Earth is a
marvelous place, the Garden of Eden for humankind, warm and protective compared
to the harsh, dangerous space, and they also tried to induce confidence in humans
ability to recover and to restart its evolution after a potential
The Battle Of Team Desobry At The Town Of Noville
INTRODUCTION
This mission command analysis evaluates the battle of Team Desobry at the town of
Noville, Belgium. These events took place 18 19 December 1944, and later impacted
the battle fought at Bastogne during World War II. It is the goal of this review to
discuss and analyze three mission command principles displayed during this battle:
Create shared understanding, exercise disciplined initiative, and the acceptance of
prudent risk. One of the main characters that took part in this story was the 20th
Armored Infantry Battalion, 10th Armored Division. The commanding officer of this
element was Major William R. Desobry. During the events of World War II, the
German forces were trying to gain control of the Ardennes to cut off the allies
supply lines in order to isolate British forces from the American troops. A pivotal
task for German forces to attain this goal was to gain access and take control of the
Belgian town of Bastogne. However, an important strategic stepping stone to get
there was Noville, which is just seven kilometers northeast of Bastogne. Two main
reasons made Noville such a critical location for the Germans: First, it had a junction
of roads that were important for displacement of German forces to the West. Second,
it provided an alternative road to access Bastogne from the north.1
DESCRIPTION OF THE BATTLE On 17 December, 1944, five German divisions
were able to push through the VIII Corps defensive line 100 miles east of Bastogne

Axis Powers By Himaruya Hidekaz
It comes as no surprise that a manga personifying the world s nations using
stereotypes and history has been controversial since its creation in 2006. Perhaps
one of the most controversial aspects of this manga, Hetalia: Axis Powers by
Himaruya Hidekaz, is the personification of the nation of Korea and the depiction of
this character. Hetalia: Axis Powers depiction of Koreacan be seen as problematic
and racist in its characterization of Korea and the character s relationships with other
characters. Korea is depicted as an annoying, disliked, and sexually deviant character.
This depiction is problematic because of the colonial history between the nations of
Korea and Japan. Furthermore, Korea constantly copies Japan s inventions and
claims everything originated from Korea. This is a common stereotype of Koreans in
Japanese media, implying that Korea, the nation, is not capable of creating anything
original.
In the strips of Hetalia: Axis Powers that feature Korea, he is depicted as generally
disliked and an annoyance to the characters around him. For example, in the strip
Britannia Angel , Korea appears yelling and jumping around happily, with crossed
eyes showing excitement. The neighbouring countries and older brothers , China and
Japan, look upon him with annoyed expressions and sweat drops (iconography for
nervousness or exhaustion). Japan says, I want to move somewhere quieter while
China responds with I can t believe I share a border with [South Korea] .
The Yellow And A Cold Blue Color
There is a glass door reflecting a soft yellow and a cold blue color. A heavy music is
playing in the background, releasing terror upon every motion. Across the corridor,
a piano is opened which may be the reason of the eerie noise. Two people are sitting
on the opposite sides of a rectangular table facing each other. It is dark, only one

After slamming shut his fiery cigarette lighter, the masked person gently tightens
his glove. Knowing it is his last chance to save his life, The Weeknd tries to escape

plastic. A few seconds after a horrific struggle, The Weeknd is left lifeless; he is

Archetypes Of Tennessee Williams
Tennessee Williams is one of the most influential dramatist and playwright in the
history of American theatre and literature. From his works like A Streetcar Named
Desire, to the works like Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Williams exemplified his own
artistic and distinct style that still stands as the forefront of the classic American
Theatre (Bloom, 2000). Born and raised in the South, the plays of Williams used the
quirks and characters of the region. His plays portrayed his gift of beautiful
language, and his boldness to explore the untapped themes such as sexuality,
madness and addiction (Heintzelman Smith Howard, 2005). The issues and themes
that have been projected in his work are also the ones which he faced in his real life
(Heintzelman Smith Howard, 2005). The archetypes of Williams s plays emotionally
absent fathers, domineering southern matriarchs, and child look women engulfed
with madness, are themes which are taken from the life of his own family members
(Heintzelman Smith Howard, 2005). He was open about the fact that he was gay, and

Washington Square Catherine Sloper Quotes
In Washington Square, James creates a convincing perception of the character that
is Catherine Sloper and the story revolving around her emotional and psychological
development throughout. He is very persuasive in the sense that he manipulates the
reader into having the same views and beliefs of this story s heroine and whether
or not we see Catherine to be vulnerable or dull witted is not left to the readers own
perceptions. In my opinion, I believe Catherine to possess more depth and
knowledge than the authorial voice leads on which is why I agree with the given
statement: I did not find Catherine dull witted...I don t think it was such a sad story;
Which appeared in the New York Times.
It has been said that a common theme that runs through James s novels is that of
awakening female consciousness. While reading Washington Square, I can detect the
moments in Catherine s story that are perhaps crucial in her development and the

Our heroine is not as stupendous and awe inspiring as those of perhaps more
modern, dystopian worlds however, her strong willpower and growth is something
that more than just young women can take away from this story. I think that now
more than ever, characters with a sense of determination and clear development in a
story are more inspiring, as it has a more likely chance of being relatable to an
everyday person, instead of that everyday reader perhaps just admiring that heroine
and never being able to measure themselves to her. In conclusion, I think that the
given statement about Catherine is honest and true to her character. It helps me feel
more confident in my perception of her role in the story and that the authorial voices

Aluminum Bats vs. Wooden Bats Essay
Aluminum Bats vs. Wooden Bats
Is baseball America s pastime? For the major leaguers maybe, but for college
athletes it seems more like a new age video game. The introduction of high dollared
aluminum bats produce football like scores, higher statistics, and a percentage of
danger to each and every player on the field. The NCAA has changed the regulations
of the bats so far and should look further into to making another change to wooden
bats.
High tech aluminum baseball bats aren t quite as new to the game as many people
may think. Author, Patrick Hruby, wrote in Sports Illustrated, introduced in the mid
1970 s... metal bats have become increasingly potent, forged with alloys... pressurized
air chambers (Hruby 42). Over the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Besides the velocity of the ball coming off of the bat there is also the reaction time
to look at. Baseball Rules Committee believe that a collegiate pitcher needs
approximately .4 seconds to react and move to avoid being struck...a pitcher is
between 51 and 52 feet away from the point of impact between the bat and ball at
the time of impact (3). Dempsey also states that at 94 mph the ball will travel 52
feet in approximately .371 seconds... with high power aluminum bats speeds well in
excess of 100 mph the ball will travel 52 feet in .354 seconds... at 110 mph, a ball
will travel 52 feet in .321 seconds (3).
Baseball bats aren t the only things that are changing; in fact it is the aluminum
bats that are changing the game. If you asked players who only played with
wooden bats, like the legendary Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, or even Willie Keeler
they would all say that these aluminum bats are taking away from the real game of
baseball. These Hall of Fame players aren t the only ones thinking that it takes
away from the game, Bill Thurston, Amherst College s baseball coach said All you
have to do is talk to pro scout,...They think the college game is ridiculous (Hruby
42). They think that it is ridiculous because the bats that collegiate players use are
helping turn baseball scores into football like scores. A perfect example of this is the

A Report On The Free Piston Stirling
There are two types of Stirling engines to be considered the kinematic engine and
the free piston engine. Most of the military missions would use Lhe kinematic
Stirling that produces mechanical work directly; and this is the one that has
received nearly all the development work to date. The free piston Stirling is a
sealed engine which uses a magnetized power piston to activate alternator coils
outside the pressure walls of the engine, thus producing an electrical output. This
configuration avoids the working fluid leakage problems associated with the
moving seals in a kinematic engine, but may be somewhat less efficient.
GENERATOR SETS (MOBILE Electrical power) General Purpose Sets There are
a wide variety of military needs for portable gcneration of electric power to support
weapons systems, communications, housekeeping power, environmental control,
and many other functions. In order to avoid proliferation of makes, models, and
sizes, a DoD Standard Family of Mobile Electric Power Sets has been established
from which all users of electric power in the field must choose to support their
system requirements. This family is shown in Table ES 2. It will be noted that
while the power range is 0.5 to 750 kilowatts (kw), the majority of sets are in the
1.5 to 60 kw range, with the smaller end of the range (under 15 kw) being most
numerous. With the exception of the very small power range, all the engines used
are commercially available diesel engines, and there is a desire
Theory of Neurosis from Karen Horney
The following is an essay is based on the theory of neurosis from Karen Horney, and
applied to the lead character of the movie Precious. Precious, the movie is based on
the life and times of a character, Clarisse Precious Jones, who was raised in Harlem
in the late 1980 s. She was raped by her father from an early age, which is revealed
closer to the end of the movie, and ends up having two children from him; one of
which is a mongoloid . Her relationship with her mother is also on rocky round and
her school isn t accepting of who she is. As the movie progresses we see that Clarisse
prefers to be called by her second name, Precious, as the movie is titled.
The term personality refers to the characteristics that one is made up of, the
influences over time, and overall reactions that occur through different stimuli. It
has been defined by different people as the theatrical mask we put on, the social
dimension of the individual and the reference to who one really is. Scientifically it
has been defined as the study of those things that make us individuals, or a pattern of
relatively stable traits. Theorists such as Carl Rogers and Sigmund Freud, amongst
others, focused on different aspects of what personality is and what it is made up of.
Karen Horney s theory of personality focuses around neurosis, which develops over
time and is influenced by other factors in a person s life. Neurosis is defined as a
relatively mild mental illness that is not caused by organic disease,
What I Learned During This Counseling And
Communication...
Communication and dialogue can be challenging. I learned a lot about
communication and it s subtleties in COUN 506. During this course I worked on
acquiring basic counseling and communication skills, have an awareness of
multicultural differences, awareness of professional identity and have a basic
understanding of the dynamics in psychotherapy. Each week I was asked to hold
counseling sessions with my peers and other week we taped our counseling session
for review and transcription. During these tapings I was asked to demonstrate
communication and counseling skills learned in this course. I was also expected to
transcribe five minutes of taping as well as submit a reflection paper with my
transcription and tape. In this paper, I will discuss some of the things I learned during
this counseling and communications class. My experience coming into this class,
some of the skills I learned, and a few of the things I found helpful.
Experience
Coming into this counseling course I had little practice in the counseling role with
adults. I was nervous and uncomfortable coming into this class. Knowing that I was
to be analyzed and taped during counseling sessions was the source of my
nervousness and discomfort. My counseling skills were minimal and I was
conscious of the fact that I was a complete novice in the counseling role. I needed to
learn basic therapeutic factors (Young, 2013) and gain practice in order to feel
comfortable in my counseling skills with adults. Furthermore,

The Story Of A Short Story
Our story starts off in a small, war ravaged greek village. It is not technologically
advanced, nor do they know a lot about science and how the world functions. Here,
we find Ventra, a young teenage boy, using his wind powers to destroy a small
market to steal the delicious fruits. As Ventra is on the run, he bumps into a middle
aged woman named Brite. She thought he did it on purpose, so she blinded him
with her light powers, knocked him out, and took him to her hideout. When Ventra
woke up all he could hear is a woman walking towards him. The room was pitch
black, until many torches were lit to light up the room. Who are you? Why do you
have fruits in your bag? Why were you running like a madman? , Aa curious Brite
asked. Ventra explained what happened and why he did it, I come from a poor
family, and I have these powers. I know it is not right to use them in this way, but I
must feed my little sister! Brite felt sympathetic for Ventra and introduced him to
other outcasts like themselves. I want to introduce you to Raydin, Boomer, and
Polaris. , said Brite. Ventra was confused and just wanted to leave, but Raydin
caught his attention by throwing a lightning strike to the exit. They all explained
how they had powers as well. They were like Ventra. Only a handful of people that
weren t gods had powers as well. Raydin here has lightning powers. Pretty cool
right? Boomer has these weird powers that make these really loud noises. Hurts, so
don t get her mad because she is ruthless. And, Polaris here has cold powers. He can
freeze you up in a second. We ve been looking for two other members like us for the
war. We must defeat the evil Godof Rain. No one knows who he really is , Ventra
interrupted Brite arguing about the situation, Let me stop you right there. The
God of Rain? Evil? Why would he be evil? He s a god! Gods are supposed to be
good. Whatever war hero thing you want me to participate in, I m out. I just need
to feed my sister. I ll show myself out. Ventra started towards the door, so Raidyn
another lightning strike towards the exit, but Ventra blew it back to him. Don t get
me mad. You know I have powers too right? Even though I can only throw gusts of
winds, I can do serious damage Raid.

His distinguishing feature is, of course, his round head with two round ears on top
(which stay the same no matter what profile he appears in). The silhouette of the ears
and head are just as recognizable as Mickey himself and are used as the Official
Disney Mascot. Mickey is even able to boast a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
His best friends include Goofy and Donald Duck and he has a dog named Pluto. He
usually wears short white gloves and red clothing; most commonly a pair of red

Minnie Mouse
Mickey s girlfriend Minnie Mouse is a star in her own right. Her basic appearance is
similar to Mickey s and her dress style is very pretty and feminine. She s usually
depicted in either a pink or red flapper dress (on occasion orange as well) with a
matching bow between her ears. Her shoes are visually oversized high heel pumps
that clatter as she walks.
Tattoo Designs
Outlines and Silhouettes The outline of their profile (circle with two circles on
either side) is a popular design for Mickey and Minnie Mouse tattoos. Some clients
will only want the simple outline but others may add a bow to the outline to
represent Minnie or chose to have the outlines filled in to form
Methamphetamine Research Paper
Domestic violence and substance abuse reached new depths with the availability of
crystal methamphetamine as the new leisure drug of the masses. Going by various
street names such as speed, crank, glass, and ice, this demon drug knows no race,
creed, or status and is all pervasive in its abuse. Unlike marijuana or cocaine that
needs to be harvested and then processed to reach the markets, meth can be
synthesized in make shift labs in the basement or the garage with ingredients
available in the neighborhood supermarkets.
In addition to this it is also smuggled across the borders by the powerful drug cartels

The effects of the drug are not limited to the user but spills over to include each and
every member of the family.
Social service agencies have revealed how out of home placements of children have
become increased due to meth addiction in care givers. Thousands of children are
abused and neglected. The National Conference of State Legislatures found the
distressing fact that about 10 percent of meth users were introduced to the drug by
their parents or close relatives. The Drug Enforcement Administration reports that in
20 percent of drug busts made last year, children were present. Domestic violence
statistics have begun to consider the implications of meth abuse in their compilations.
Meth is also the drug of choice for women who choose this lifestyle. Besides
helping to keep up with the multi tasking required of a working mother, it is also
known to help with weight loss. A startling fact reported by a federal survey of all
people arrested for crimes reveals that over 11 percent of women had used meth, as
opposed to 4.7 percent of men. What starts as a low intensity use and a harmless
pastime can quickly slip into the danger zone. Both domestic violence victims as
well as abusers can be meth addicts. This puts the lives of innocent children at great
risks according to police
Martha Lum V. Touregee Case
On June 7, 1892, the law was tested again, when Homer Adolph Plessey, an
octoroon , a very fair person with white features, purchased a ticket and boarded
the Louisiana railroad with the consent of the Citizens Committee with the express
purpose of violating the Separate Car Act. He sat in the whites only section and
when his ticket was collected by the conductor, Homer Adolph Plessey informed
the conductor that he was 7/8 white and was not going to sit in the black only car.
Arrested and jailed, Plessey as released on $500 bail the next day. A White New
York lawyer, Albion Winegar Tourgee, was retained. Plessey s case was heard one
month later before John Howard Ferguson. Tourgee argued the violation of the 13th
and 14th amendments before Justice Ferguson. Tourgee s argument was for absolute
equality of all races. However, on May 18, 1896, Justice Brown, by a vote of 7 to 1,
ruled in favor of the State of Louisiana upholding the constitutionality of state laws
under the doctrine of separate but equal that justified a system of... Show more

Thesis Statement For The Dust Bowl

The dust storm was a hard decade for most people. People struggling to survive in
the dark dust flying around, making everyone sick and causing people to get
serious diseases. My opinion is that, The Dust Bowl negatively affected people who
lived there in a personal way. The reasons are that diseases spread around and dust
was everywhere, life was hard during the Dust Bowl, and it was a depressing,
stressful time for people in the Dust Bowl and it was the worst man made disaster.

The Type of Liquid on Growth of Jelly Marble
The reason for the experiment is to see which liquid makes the Jelly Marble grow
the most. Jelly Marbles are clear spheres made from an superabsorbent polymer and
about 99% water. This makes it so that it absorbs water very quickly. If the jelly
marbles are soaked in 70% rubbing alcohol then the growth will decrease.

Review Of Dracula By Bram Stoker
Blood Lust The amount of crazed vampire stories within this world continuously
grows despite the amount of creativity that can go into the description, and
characterization of said vampires being quite limited. There would only be so many
possibilities for scenes, situations, and character designs if authors went by nothing
more than the characteristics of the vampires in Bram Stokers Dracula. Because of
this, authors continue to create more and more ridiculous scenarios as well as
more and more advanced vampires. The comparison of the way vampires look,
respond to environmental stimuli, and act in social situations in books like Dracula
or The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod, as well as book series such as Blood Lad and
Twilight, is quite drastic. Every vampirein movies or novels essentially has the same
cold body functions of the dead pale, chilled flesh, lack of a heartbeat. Dracula had
these characteristics, along with being clad in black... who is clean shaven aside
from a long, white moustache. Dracula lived in a Gothic era where he wore a
double breasted vest, white shirt, black slacks, fancy shoes, a pocket watch, and a
fake smile on his face. These kind looks, as well as his charisma, made people trust
him more. In the novel, it is written that ...The count s greeting is so warm that the
Englishman s fears vanish. Modern vampires, unlike Dracula, tend to typically look
and act more like teenagers. They are clothed in hooded sweaters, t shirts, and jeans.

  • 2. Problem Of Congestion Of Cellular Network Essay пЂ Problem of Congestion in Cellular Network Shiva Nageswara Rao Bandereddy (sbandere@hawk.iit.edu) College of Science Department Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA. Abstract In the next few years there will be an exponential grow in mobile data traffic due to the tremendous growth in mobile data like audio, video kind of different multimedia application. Cellular network operators invest huge amount to make their infrastructure better like installing new cell tower and offloading data traffic from cellular to the Wi Fi so that they can efficiently prevent congestion. We all have observed call drops during the conversation at some time which is very annoying and so this congestion problem gives hard time to customer and so the service provider too. In this project, I want to research what are the main reason for the congestion of the cellular network and how it can be avoided or minimized. Index Terms Mobile, CAGR, Cisco, Congestion I.INTRODUCTION Congestion of networks is a network state where a node of link carries huge amount of data that may deteriorate network service quality, resulting in queuing delay, frame or data packet loss and the blocking of new connections. There could be a possible reason for a congestion like insufficient bandwidth, when network data exceeds its capacity. Wireless mobile network is independent? When we think of a cellular network it is not a completely wireless network. No one has completely independent wireless network.

There are several stories that have monkey as an important character. In Hindu culture, the most famous monkey character is Hanuman, from the great Ramayana. Similar to Lutung, Hanuman is also a son of a goddess. The different is that Lutung is actually born in a human form, while Hanuman is originally born as a monkey. Another story that has monkey as its character is Journey to the West . The character is a monkey, which is also named Monkey. Same with Lutung, Monkey in this story goes to a place which is not his origin place. Monkey is also shown to be a good leader in his society. Lutung is also a good leader for all other animals and pohaci in the forest where Purbasari is exiled. The major different between these two characters, Hanuman and Monkey, with Lutung is their behavior. Lutung is a very well behaved and virtuous character, while Hanuman is considered naughty as the gods, that he is punished by not being able to remember his ability, and Monkey often brings chaos, that he is punished by his
  • 4. Origin And Nature Of Anthrax Origin and nature The earliest appearance of Anthrax occurred around 700 BC mostly affecting cattle, sheep, horses, and oxen. The people of Egypt and Mesopotamia at the time called it the 5th plague and the name Anthrax derives from the word coal, similar to the black skin leisures it produces. The first clinical cases of Anthraxwere described around 1752 and 1769 by Maret and Fournier respectively (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2016). Scientist Robert Kochwas the first to study Bacillusanthracis in a clinical setting, in 1877 he developed the first microbial etiology. It was in the 1800 s that Anthrax was titled the woolsorters disease due to its relation with animal hair or wool from sheep (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2016). Bacillus anthracis is an aerobic, spore forming, nonmotile, monomorphic bacteria with little to no genetic diversity. Anthrax spores are able to lay dormant for long periods of time allowing it to survive more than 40 years in the soil, 80 years in a vial, and 200 years in bones (Friedlander, 336). Bacillus anthracis is therefore known as a risk group 3 organism (Agren et al., 2014). This is part of what makes Anthrax such a risk, but more commonly Anthrax contamination in the soil only lasts for a few months and rarely for more than a few years when microbial competition exists in that soil (Friedlander, 336). It was without this information that traders, shipped infected sheep, cattle and other animals around
  • 5. Designing A Mousetrap Powered Device The purpose of this project is to design and construct a mousetrap powered device that could move a hacky sack along a rectangular track 2 meters wide x 15 meter long. The device must not be powered by any outside source. It must be a product of creative and innovative solution with the application of the fundamentals of engineering. The device must also incorporate the five solution criteria; novel solution (device must be surprising), effective solution (hacky sack should travel at least 15 meters), elegant solution (device should be simple and understandable), germinal solution (opens up new ideas) and lastly the creativity of the device. This project also aims to help develop the capabilities of each student as a team member in a group work activity. 2Creativity in Design The team started the process by doing individual research and drawing a design plan for the most ideal device to build. We started brainstorming and suggested several ideas of devices, such as, a three wheel and a four wheel car, a catapult device and a flying mousetrap device. Afterwards we have come up with several factors to consider in choosing which device to build. These are as follows; It is simple and easy to build Must have enough force to carry the hacky sack for more than 15 meters The materials needed are cheap and easy to find The device must be aesthetically pleasing but must remain to provide sufficient functionality Most of all, must incorporate the five solution criteria
  • 6. The Cruelty of Female Circumcision According to The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, It is estimated that between 100 million and 140 million girls and women worldwide have received FGC. There are more than 3 million girls at risk of having FGC each year (DHHS). Circumcision can be preformed on both males and females. It is common a common practice among western cultures to preform circumcisions on males. Female circumcision is uncommon and is illegal in most countries and considered a violation of human rights. Male circumcision is done by removing the foreskin around the head of the penis and is usually done 1 2 days after birth. According to the Centers for Disease Control, Male circumcision reduces the risk that a man will acquire HIV from an infected female partner, and also lowers the risk of other STDs, penile cancer, and infant urinary tract infection. For female partners, male circumcision reduces the risk of cervical cancer, genital ulceration, bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, and HPV. Although male circumcision has risks including pain, bleeding, and infection, more serious complications are rare (1). Another risk includes, decrease in sensitivity. In other words, there are both benefits and risks to male circumcision. The cause of male circumcision is health benefits and religious reasons. Female circumcision is also known as female genital mutilation, it is illegal in the United States of America and many other countries. There are two main ways that is preformed. The first

Zombies may be fictional, but natural disasters are a very real concern in which we would take the same precautions. To prepare for those kinds of outbreaks, you should have a well structured plan. During a disaster such as a zombie apocalypse, shelter is a vital part in surviving. With zombies running rampant across the city, we must have a safe and secure shelter for all citizens to hide out until the apocalypse is over. With that being said, what kind of building should we provide, and where should these types of shelters be placed? These buildings will be placed underground, so that the zombies are unable to reach the citizens and resources we have packed inside. To enter these types of buildings, all people will have ... Benefits of Indian Gaming and its role in Global Development of Tribal Nations Indigenous peoples throughout the world have suffered and continue to suffer ever since white people stepped foot onto their lands. In the Americas, countless incidents of genocide and blatant violations of human rights have occurred time and time again. Those indigenous to North America, known commonly as Indians or Native Americans, have faced an immense amount of racism, hatred, and oppression on the very same land that was once their own, before it was stolen by the colonists. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is a myth that the native peoples of the Americas were ever conquered, assimilated, wiped out, or that they never even existed. The fact is that Native Americans have been consistent with their refusal to assimilate into white culture and to trade in their traditional values for capitalistic materialism, and they have continued to survive in a country that essentially tried to kill off their race through various means of termination, relocation, genocide, and other policies that at one time or another were implemented by the federal government. The American government viewed Native Americans as a problem that had to be dealt with from the moment they arrived on this continent. Still today, many federal officials and bureaucrats continue to view Native Americans as a problem that must be dealt with accordingly. Tribal nationshave suffered centuries of turmoil, as the federal government implemented a series of policies to deal with the Indian problem and drive Natives close to extinction. Around 1900 is when the Native American population in the United States reached its nadir with a total American Indian population of only about 125,000, which had been reduced in a few centuries from 5+ million. Explain own role and responsibilities in identifying and meeting the needs of the learners As a teacher and trainer I have found that one of the simplest ways to make learning accessible to both myself and to those I am teaching is by relating to real life situations and circumstances that I have faced. If one takes the approach of trying to memorise lists of facts of how to deal with First Aid situations the information becomes more difficult to absorb and less likely to be retained. Context can help provide a more intuitive framework for people s skills, whether it is as simple as telling a story that can be recalled if and when relevant or even if it delves deeply enough to understand why certain techniques are used in First Aid... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All literature for the course can be checked beforehand (if necessary) to confirm the level of literacy. Basic numeracy skills are essential to any professional career, though having a calculator on hand can assist if a trainer does come into numerical difficulty. People skills are really the most important and pressing skills to have as a teacher and I would suggest that a degree of psychological understanding is implied within the definition of being a teacher/trainer. There is however, a big difference between a nervous student and one with a medical condition that needs more specialised help and in extreme cases referral to a medical professional would be required. Mentoring and being a role model is equally implicit and should extend to all values of being a human being and not just those related to First Aid. I believe that, in this regard, there can not be any real boundary to how a teacher/trainer can act. List and describe the points of referral to meet the needs of the learners There should be no need to signpost learners to someone with greater knowledge of First Aid, nor should there be another trainer with more appropriate teaching style, as different teaching styles can be used by anyone. If someone is struggling with a language barrier that seems insurmountable, a trainer can recommend a different teacher who may be better able to communicate with a learner (perhaps in a different language, by signing for a deaf student etc.) Religious restrictions may

St. Augustine s Confessions And Dante s Inferno In St. Augustine s Confessions and Dante s Inferno, the central characters in their respective narratives are presented a message from which induces distinct reactions. More importantly, their reactions are reflections of their perspective concerning the Christian outlook towards life and passion. In Book VIII.xi (29) the reader finds St. Augustine in a state of despair and anguish because of his ongoing internal struggle between his mind and body. Even though he delays taking action, the mention of the adverb solely suggest that St. Augustine does take the choice to perceive, with no reserves, the message as divine. He could have merely attributed the command as the nursery rhyme, but he did not. Instead, he shows faith and belief that Noah would not have to demonstrate as the latter directly hears the voice of God. After he reads Romans 13:13 14, St. Augustine neither wished nor needed to read further...All the shadows of doubt were dispelled. Once St. Augustine finally converts, the complexities of his troubles seemingly dissipate. The reader is left with the understanding that all of St. Augustine s troubles ( the shadows of doubt ) could have easily been resolved had he been more simple minded by having had faith ( the light of relief ) earlier in his life. This created a sense of realism that filmmakers try to copy to this day. With such a low budget, Alvidsen had to make do with what he had so he was forced to film a small group of people crowded together multiple times to create the feeling of a large crowd. He also had to ask Stallone to re write some scenes because of their lack of funds for extras and equipment. This acted as a way to show how gritty and raw this story really was. Due to the low budget of the film; Alvidsen had to make do with the resources they had and then incorporated the situation into the plot of the film. It made the film very realistic and believable. For example, the ice rink scene was supposed to have a crowded rink. But, they couldn t afford all the extras so they had to change the script, and it became a closed rink in which the camera stayed focused on only Rocky and Adrian the whole time. Rocky influenced the film industry through its plot. The main plot of Rocky is the main character s desire to make his or her life better. This theme is one of the most common themes in films. Rocky s effect on this type of theme was monumental though because it was one of the first of its kind to be made with a small budget, unknown cast, and limited resources. • 15. Mrs. Wright As A Woman s Culture Of Social Isolation Essay Mrs. Wright in Trifles, Emily in A Rose for Emily, and Mildred in The Hairy Ape exemplified a woman s culture of social isolation. Condemned in a house alone to worry only about her wifely duties, Mrs. Wright s husband isolated her from the community and past self. Pressured by her father, lover, and her own fear of abandonment, Emily lived a life of isolation from love and her community. Caused by her many years living in the higher class, Mildred felt isolated from the rest of society and the lower class. Mrs. Wright, Miss Emily, and Mildred have all been pushed into seclusion away from general society, in turn causing all three of women to take drastic measures to break their isolation. The three females in Triffles, A Rose for Emily, and The Hairy Ape demonstrated the negative effect of social isolation. Mrs. Wright suffered from social isolation caused by her husband. When Mr. Hale suggested the family go in with me on a party telephone, Mr. Wright defended himself by saying he only wanted peace and quiet and seemed to not care what his wife wanted. Even when Mr. Hale explained to Mrs. Wright the reason behind his visit was to ask about the telephone, she laughed, but then looked scared. As if she had been conditioned to suppress her true wishes and desires, unless she wished for grief. Without the agency and ability to reach out to the other women, Mr. Wright isolated Mrs. Wright from potential hobbies, social groups, and activities. Before she became

I gave up on doing the rest of my homework, so I put my headphones on and turned on my Spotify Daily Mix to listen to the rest of the way there. • 21. Similarities Between Roman And Greek Gods There are many similarities between the Romans and the Greeks such as, how they worship their gods, their social classes, their arts, and many more.In this paper, I will be explaining the similarities between the Greek and the Romans. In both Rome and Greece, the religion was most likely Polytheism or Christianity. That is, the people that were polytheistic believed in either Roman or Greek gods. The Roman gods were inspired by the Greek gods, but Greek and Roman mythology have the same Gods but with different names, because many Roman Gods are borrowed from Greek mythology. A lot of the stories told about the Roman gods are somewhat the same as the Greek gods. For example, the story of Jupiter and his father Saturn is the same as the story of Zeus and his father Cronos. That is in Greece, women don t have that much right in the city states and there were controlled and under the protection of their husband, father, or any male relative they have in there life. Also, in Greece, women had no part or role in politics, Instead the women would stay home and raise the kids. In Roman culture, they allowed their women to get an education, to join the army, and they didn t become properties of the men the like the Greeks women became. Another reason way to that Greek and Rome have similar culture is through the social classes. Social classes are a division of a society based on social and economic status. In Greece, the society was divided into slaves, freedmen, metics, citizens, and women. Rome had slaves, freedmen, plebeians, and patricians. In ancient Greece, it was said that slavery was natural and nessacary. According to Aristotle, the slave whole day was sum up in three work work, discipline, and feeding . The reason for why I think that they similar is because of the way they treated the group

One of the main characters that took part in this story was the 20th Armored Infantry Battalion, 10th Armored Division. The commanding officer of this element was Major William R. Desobry. During the events of World War II, the German forces were trying to gain control of the Ardennes to cut off the allies supply lines in order to isolate British forces from the American troops. A pivotal task for German forces to attain this goal was to gain access and take control of the Belgian town of Bastogne. However, an important strategic stepping stone to get there was Noville, which is just seven kilometers northeast of Bastogne. Perhaps one of the most controversial aspects of this manga, Hetalia: Axis Powers by Himaruya Hidekaz, is the personification of the nation of Korea and the depiction of this character. Hetalia: Axis Powers depiction of Koreacan be seen as problematic and racist in its characterization of Korea and the character s relationships with other characters. Korea is depicted as an annoying, disliked, and sexually deviant character. This depiction is problematic because of the colonial history between the nations of Korea and Japan. Furthermore, Korea constantly copies Japan s inventions and claims everything originated from Korea. This is a common stereotype of Koreans in Japanese media, implying that Korea, the nation, is not capable of creating anything original. In the strips of Hetalia: Axis Powers that feature Korea, he is depicted as generally disliked and an annoyance to the characters around him. The neighbouring countries and older brothers , China and Japan, look upon him with annoyed expressions and sweat drops (iconography for nervousness or exhaustion). Washington Square Catherine Sloper Quotes In Washington Square, James creates a convincing perception of the character that is Catherine Sloper and the story revolving around her emotional and psychological development throughout. He is very persuasive in the sense that he manipulates the reader into having the same views and beliefs of this story s heroine and whether or not we see Catherine to be vulnerable or dull witted is not left to the readers own perceptions. In my opinion, I believe Catherine to possess more depth and knowledge than the authorial voice leads on which is why I agree with the given statement: I did not find Catherine dull witted...I don t think it was such a sad story; Which appeared in the New York Times. Our heroine is not as stupendous and awe inspiring as those of perhaps more modern, dystopian worlds however, her strong willpower and growth is something that more than just young women can take away from this story. I think that now more than ever, characters with a sense of determination and clear development in a story are more inspiring, as it has a more likely chance of being relatable to an everyday person, instead of that everyday reader perhaps just admiring that heroine and never being able to measure themselves to her. In conclusion, I think that the given statement about Catherine is honest and true to her character. For the major leaguers maybe, but for college athletes it seems more like a new age video game. The introduction of high dollared aluminum bats produce football like scores, higher statistics, and a percentage of danger to each and every player on the field. The NCAA has changed the regulations of the bats so far and should look further into to making another change to wooden bats. High tech aluminum baseball bats aren t quite as new to the game as many people may think. Most of the military missions would use Lhe kinematic Stirling that produces mechanical work directly; and this is the one that has received nearly all the development work to date. The free piston Stirling is a sealed engine which uses a magnetized power piston to activate alternator coils outside the pressure walls of the engine, thus producing an electrical output. This configuration avoids the working fluid leakage problems associated with the moving seals in a kinematic engine, but may be somewhat less efficient. GENERATOR SETS (MOBILE Electrical power) General Purpose Sets There are a wide variety of military needs for portable gcneration of electric power to support weapons systems, communications, housekeeping power, environmental control, and many other functions. In order to avoid proliferation of makes, models, and sizes, a DoD Standard Family of Mobile Electric Power Sets has been established from which all users of electric power in the field must choose to support their system requirements. This family is shown in Table ES 2. It will be noted that while the power range is 0.5 to 750 kilowatts (kw), the majority of sets are in the 1.5 to 60 kw range, with the smaller end of the range (under 15 kw) being most numerous. During this course I worked on acquiring basic counseling and communication skills, have an awareness of multicultural differences, awareness of professional identity and have a basic understanding of the dynamics in psychotherapy. Each week I was asked to hold counseling sessions with my peers and other week we taped our counseling session for review and transcription. During these tapings I was asked to demonstrate communication and counseling skills learned in this course.
