WORLD
Michelin starred chef
• A Michelin starred chef is a head chef who is awarded 1 to 3 stars in the Guide Rouge by
Michelin.
• Michelin is a tyre producing company issuing a restaurant guide each year.
• Back in 1900 the company started to issue a restaurant guide to give recommendations
to car owners in France, then Belgium, other countries followed. In 1909, an English
version was available.
• Listing only restaurants worth a stop, Michelin began to award fine dining restaurants
with a star (which looks rather like a flower) in the 20s and introduced a three star
ranking in the 30s which was defined in 1936 as the following:
• 1 star "A very good restaurant in its category"
• 2 stars "Excellent cooking, worth a detour"
• 3 stars "Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey"
• A Michelin star is bound to the head chef of that restaurant and is valid for approx
1 year until the next issue is released or the head chef leaves the restaurant.
CHEF GORDON JAMES RAMSAY
• Gordon James Ramsay is a
British chef, restaurateur, writer
and television personality.
• He was born in Scotland, and
raised in England.
• His restaurants have been
awarded 16 Michelin stars in
total and currently hold a total
of seven.
CHEF THOMAS KELLER
• Thomas Keller is an American
chef, restaurateur, and cookbook
writer.
• COOKING STYLE- FRENCH
• He and his landmark Napa Valley
restaurant, The French Laundry
in Yountville, California, have
won multiple awards
CHEF JAMES TREVER OLIVER
• James Trevor Oliver is a British
chef and restaurateur.
• COOKING STYLE- ITALIAN,

• He is known for his
approachable cuisine, which has
led him to front numerous
television shows and open many
restaurants.
CHEF MARCO PIERRE WHITE
• Marco Pierre White is a British
chef, restaurateur, and television
personality.
• White has been dubbed the first
celebrity chef, and the enfant
terrible of the UK restaurant
scene.
• In 1994, at age 32, White
became both the youngest chef
and the first British chef to be
awarded three Michelin stars.

Michelin starred chef • A Michelin starred chef is a head chef who is awarded 1 to 3 stars in the Guide Rouge by Michelin. • Michelin is a tyre producing company issuing a restaurant guide each year. • Back in 1900 the company started to issue a restaurant guide to give recommendations to car owners in France, then Belgium, other countries followed. In 1909, an English version was available. • Listing only restaurants worth a stop, Michelin began to award fine dining restaurants with a star (which looks rather like a flower) in the 20s and introduced a three star ranking in the 30s which was defined in 1936 as the following: • 1 star "A very good restaurant in its category" • 2 stars "Excellent cooking, worth a detour" • 3 stars "Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey" • A Michelin star is bound to the head chef of that restaurant and is valid for approx 1 year until the next issue is released or the head chef leaves the restaurant.
