INTRODUCTION
 It has become very important in today’s time to
keep in touch with the latest technology for the
smooth function of any department in the hotel
industry.
 Hence, one should know properly the latest
tools and equipment's used in the front office
area and most important the use of them.
TELEPHONE EXCHANGE
The telecommunications industry has developed
rapidly with new innovations every six months.
They have hotel telecommunications as follows:
 Satellite connections have made cumbersome
telephone exchanges redundant
 Electronic exchanges can be operated from
desktops requiring minimal space
 Mobile phones make communication easier
reducing the use of the telephone exchange
There are many types of calls a guest may place
during a hotel stay:
 Local calls
 Domestic long distance calls
 International calls
 Calling card calls
 Credit cards calls
 Conference calls
 Toll free calls
The hotel is obliged to charge for these services
and thereby earn subsidiary revenue for the
establishment

INTRODUCTION  It has become very important in today’s time to keep in touch with the latest technology for the smooth function of any department in the hotel industry.  Hence, one should know properly the latest tools and equipment's used in the front office area and most important the use of them.
  • 3. TELEPHONE EXCHANGE The telecommunications industry has developed rapidly with new innovations every six months. They have hotel telecommunications as follows:  Satellite connections have made cumbersome telephone exchanges redundant  Electronic exchanges can be operated from desktops requiring minimal space  Mobile phones make communication easier reducing the use of the telephone exchange

There are many types of calls a guest may place during a hotel stay:  Local calls  Domestic long distance calls  International calls  Calling card calls  Credit cards calls  Conference calls  Toll free calls The hotel is obliged to charge for these services and thereby earn subsidiary revenue for the establishment
