5. Front office - as defined in the
financial dictionary provided by Wall
Street Oasis (WSO), is a business term
that pertains to the client-facing part
of the firm and focuses on working
with guests.
6. The front office of a hotel, aside from
welcoming the guests, generally performs
several basic services such as processing
advance reservation, registering guests,
room guests, handling guest luggage,
issuing room keys, providing information,
handling guest mail and parcel,
administering telephone service accounting
(making payments and billings), and
checking out guest.
7. In other words, the front office can be
called the “showcase window” of the hotel
because it is where all the information and
messages are communicated to the different
departments and personnel.
8. The guest cycle consists of all the activities that
each guest undergoes from the moment he or she
calls for a reservation inquiry until he or she departs
from the hotel. In fact, the guest cycle encompasses
four different stages and these are the pre-arrival,
