EDU 650 Week 1 Assignment Education Philosophy
Module 1 of Grade 11 Career Guidance Manual entitled “Road to the Right Choice” covers different professions and life choices for Grade 11 learners. It provides information on the different senior high school curriculum exits and regulated professions that will facilitate their career decision making as they pursue college. This module also tackles the different factors affecting learners’ life and career choices considering that deciding for career and life is not an easy task for Grade 11 learners.
As facilitator of this module, you will help the learners identify these factors and lead them to appreciate how these factors affect their choices of profession.

Purpose
The tool guides students on their choice of higher secondary school/labour market and
stimulates discussion between students and families in order to facilitate the students’
choice.

Students of the last year of lower secondary school (14 years old)

o Which aspects about yourself do you want to improve?
o Which are your qualities and attitudes, your interests?
o How do you imagine yourself “as grown-up”?

3) PLAN YOURSELF: “GIVE YOUR IDEAS AN ORDER AND TRY TO ELABORATE A
STUDY AND WORK PROJECT?”
o Are you able to correlate the knowledge that you have about yourself and the
information acquired in the guidance course that you have done up to now?
o Are you able to correlate the knowledge that you have about yourself and the
information acquired for a conscious choice of high school?

information gathered to understand which training course can bring you closer to
the professional fields you have greater interest in ?
