SCHOOL CHOICE - Questionnaire 
Purpose 
The tool guides students on their choice of higher secondary school/labour market and 
stimulates discussion between students and families in order to facilitate the students’ 
choice. 
Target Group 
Students of the last year of lower secondary school (14 years old) 
Questionnaire 
QUESTIONNAIRE N°2 
1) EXPLORATION OF ONSELF’: “HOW AM I?” 
o Which are your favorite subjects, where do you succeed better? why? 
o Which subjects do you neglect? why? 
o Which are your strong points? 
o Which are yourweaknesses? 
o Which aspects of yourself could you improve? 
o Which aspects about yourself do you want to improve? 
o Which are your qualities and attitudes, your interests? 
o How do you imagine yourself “as grown-up”? 
o Your “ideal job” should be…should have… 
o People that know you well (family, friends, teachers) think that … 
o Do you agree with the view they have about you? yes, why? no, why? 
o Are you willing to accept the suggestions and indications supplied by your teachers 
and parents? 
2) INQUIRING ABOUT CAREERS AND SCHOOLS 
A. Careers: 
o Which professional environments do you know? 
o Are there any that you would like to get to know better? 
o Are there any that interest you most? why? 
o Do you know which activities are carried out in these careers? 
B. Schools
o Are you aware of the schools that there are on your territory? 
o Do you know the educational and training orientation they have? 
o Do you know which training and working possibilities the different schools have? 
o Are you willing to participate to “open days” organized by high schools? 
o Are you willing to move as long as you can attend a school that is really of your 
interest and that is “made for you”? 
3) PLAN YOURSELF: “GIVE YOUR IDEAS AN ORDER AND TRY TO ELABORATE A 
STUDY AND WORK PROJECT?” 
o Are you able to correlate the knowledge that you have about yourself and the 
information acquired in the guidance course that you have done up to now? 
o Are you able to correlate the knowledge that you have about yourself and the 
information acquired for a conscious choice of high school? 
o Are you able to correlate the professional environment that interests you and the 
information gathered to understand which training course can bring you closer to 
the professional fields you have greater interest in ? 
o Are you able to correlate the knowledge you have about yourself and the 
information acquired to understand in which professional environment you would be 
interested in working in when you “grow up”? 
o Are you able to identify the strengths and the constraints concerning the 
professional environment that you are interested in?
