In this day and age, it's probably a good idea to get your WLAN ready for voice and video. And it's also a good idea to classify and prioritize web applications based on policies you set. Protecting your mobile devices and network infrastructure against outside or inside attacks needs to be part of the plan, too.

The Internet of Things can deliver smart spaces — intelligent meeting areas, location services, and real time monitoring are just a few applications that make the workplace more efficient and productive. When installed with care, the IoT infrastructure offers great business benefits and improved operations. Join us to learn why organizations are taking the next step in enabling smart buildings.
The presentation is ideal for people who needs to know how Bluecoat packetshaper could be beneficial to any organization. Especially with organizations having problems with Data network visibility traversing across WAN/LAN traffic.
The DAN or Data Access Network is a newly emerging “best practice” for passive monitoring of mission critical networks that solves real access problems, improves network performance and uptime, and saves capital, operation and maintenance costs. A DAN is a combination of out-of-band data access switching plus passive monitoring instrumentation to enable required security, compliance, forensics review, application performance, VoIP QoS, uptime and other network management tasks. Data is acquired from multiple SPAN ports or taps and multicast to multiple tools, aggregated to a few consolidated tools, and filtered or divided across many instances of the same tools. The DAN may be thought of as a “data socket” providing immediate access for ad hoc tool deployment without impact to the production network and outside of the scope of configuration management policies. Data Access Networking is a concept whose time has come due to a recent confluence of factors including enhanced fiduciary responsibilities, heightened threats to network security, real convergence of voice, video and data networks, plus greater economic dependency on network uptime and performance. This Podcast recommends the DAN as a solution to those who suffer real problems like too many tools and not enough span ports, too many links to monitor and not enough money to deploy distributed tools, or too much traffic that threatens to overflow even the highest capacity tool. Is your wireless network more secure than your wired network? In this session, we'll discuss how to use industry standard techniques to provide secure wired access. This includes using policies and RADIUS/RADIUS CoA to ensure that ports used for Wi-Fi APs, IoT devices, printers and IP phones are protected against unwanted use by employees, guests, and contractors. The days of dedicated ports assigned to VLANs are over! By using a 'universal ports tied to policies’ model, network access is based on dynamic enforcement rules. These techniques work across popular wired infrastructure from HPE, Cisco, and others.
One of the most difficult challenges facing Security, VoIP, and Network Management Solutions is how to implement network tools onto enterprise networks. Enterprise networks are becoming more complex when looking at how to monitor and capture data. It can be difficult or impossible to gain access to network SPAN Ports or inserting In-line Devices like Intrusion Prevention Systems into enterprise networks. Contention for network access is a major problem. Learn how to design a network access solution that meets the requirements for security, network monitoring, and overall network access solutions. We help solve the questions, How do I get secure access to the network for capturing data or monitoring data traffic? Why TAP your network?
Enhance your network security by introducing Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) into new or existing use cases. New threats, risks, and vulnerabilities as well as evolving business requirements underscore to the need for a strong authentication approach based on simple service delivery, choice, and future-forward scalability. Learn how to create time, location and event driven policies to trigger new MFA workflows. Managed or unmanaged devices can be leveraged using secure MFA solutions from a variety of 3rd party providers and when combined with SSO, provides a much simpler and secure user experience versus traditional two-factor authentication methods..

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

LF Energy Webinar: Electrical Grid Modelling and Simulation Through PowSyBl -...DanBrown980551
Do you want to learn how to model and simulate an electrical network from scratch in under an hour?
Then welcome to this PowSyBl workshop, hosted by Rte, the French Transmission System Operator (TSO)!
During the webinar, you will discover the PowSyBl ecosystem as well as handle and study an electrical network through an interactive Python notebook.
PowSyBl is an open source project hosted by LF Energy, which offers a comprehensive set of features for electrical grid modelling and simulation. Among other advanced features, PowSyBl provides:
- A fully editable and extendable library for grid component modelling;
- Visualization tools to display your network;
- Grid simulation tools, such as power flows, security analyses (with or without remedial actions) and sensitivity analyses;
The framework is mostly written in Java, with a Python binding so that Python developers can access PowSyBl functionalities as well.
What you will learn during the webinar:
- For beginners: discover PowSyBl's functionalities through a quick general presentation and the notebook, without needing any expert coding skills;
- For advanced developers: master the skills to efficiently apply PowSyBl functionalities to your real-world scenarios.

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.
