2. The History of the School
The most different fairy tale in the world!
Once upon a time, there was a Greek Prime Minister who
ordered the Minister of Education to build a new school
on the beautiful island of Mytilene, in 1931.
The first school year began in 1934. It cost 1,7 million drachmas. A
company called “Tavanli Bonjour” helped to build the school. It had
a tile roof and it was the biggest and most beautiful school anyone
had ever seen, with good teachers, antique furniture and more!
On 6th April 2006, there was an earthquake and the school closed
down. It was moved opposite in a playing field. The building was
abandoned for 6 years.
One day, the Mayor of Mytilene said he would build the school from
the beginning.
The school was rebuilt (and the story from this point on is our wish for
the future…..) and lots of children went there. It was the biggest, the
prettiest and the most popular in Mytilene. So, the students lived
happily ever after!

5. Before the earthquake……….

6. After the earthquake it was evacuated, abandoned
and then vandalised…………

7. Since then….for 6 years we have containers as
classrooms !! There are 170 students in our school.

11. There are also a computer room, a music room, a
canteen and a classroom for children with special
needs. We are involved in many projects and take
part in many competitions and athletic events.
