2. The development of culture of the later
Middle Ages is related to what people were
inspired by the City of God. The
development of today’s society is related to
the fact that people are inspired by the City
of Development. Let us show you how the
educational development of our town,
Saranda, is connected closely with the
name of our high school, “HASAN
TAHSINI”.

But these ideas were not enough, just
like a large number of stones are not
enough to build a house. With lots of
effort and support “Hasan Tahsini” High
School opened the doors of knowledge in
1964.It started its work with a number
of 107 students and only 9 teachers.
From year to year, the school was
enriched with the basic materials which
raised the quality of teaching. As the
years were passing by,the students and
the staff was growing in number.
5. On
October 1997 began the project for the
creation of the Students’ Government. This
project was enthusiastically accepted, and
this is why the students were involved in
this big project. It is an element of
democracy, which changed the way of
thinking in our school. Besides the
teachers’ department and the heading
department which consist the State
Educational mechanism, a new element
was attached, and that was the School
Board .
6. The
Senate represents the voice of
students, on which is concentrated the
whole school educational work. During the
school year1999-2000,the other reform in
the educational system was brought in.
Students had the opportunity to choose
between humanities and sciences.
7. HASAN TAHSINI high school is notable not only
for its name in the educational achievements
field, but also for a wide range of educational,
cultural and sport activities. There have been
achieved high results during the sport activities
of the last 49 years.
8. It were the students of our school that have continuously filled the
representative sport teams of our region. The most popular sports are football,
athletics, volleyball, basketball and swimming.

Among the large variety of the cultural and
artistic activities distinguish:
Artistic Folkloric Group
Artistic Concerts (Albanian and other

Encyclopedia Quiz
Participation in educational competitions

These activities have appeared
useful to hundreds of students to
show their talents, thus making our
town abound in life, sprightliness
and success; giving it the absolutely
meriting name it has nowadays.

During its 49 years of existence our
school has been awarded a lot of
prizes by the local community. The
most notable of this prizes are the:
“Urdhri i Punes” in 1968 and 1974
and the “Urdhri Naim Frasheri” in
1987.

From this school have graduated excellent
students of which eight have been
awarded a golden medal. Teachers have
given a great contribution for the
estimation of our school. Four of our
teachers, have been awarded the prize
“Mesues I Merituar”, for their untiring work
with several generations of students.

Our students have taken part in different
subject competitions such as in
mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology
etc who have won many prizes and no
longer than March 2009,a student of the
3rd grade won the first prize in the National
Competition of Physics.

The greatest achievement of our school
was in 2006 when our school was
awarded the “Prizmi I Arte” (Golden
Prism) having the best seniors in the
Republic of Albania. That year our
school was awarded the second prize in
the National Competition of the Essay.
This tradition continues, when a year
later we took the first prize, and in
2009, awarding the second one.

Another thing to be mentioned is that, in
addition to these achievements, the
2008’s best senior of the Albanian
Republic graduated from our school. Apart
from the above prizes in the educational
field, we have been awarded several
prizes in sports, such as:
