Feedback from students calling for a consistent look and feel in Blackboard (Interact 2) subject sites has resulted in Charles Sturt University (CSU) investigating the development and implementation of a standardised template. The University of Wollongong and Blackboard have collaborated to develop an exemplary course for staff that demonstrates best practice for digital learning within Moodle. In 2015, the University implemented a set of minimum expectations and good practice elements called the Digital Learning Thresholds (DLT). The DLT strategy supports the principle that all students will have access to digital learning and both staff and students have clear expectations about the use of digital learning within the curriculum. This session will be co-presented by Lynley Clark from Blackboard and Denise Spanswick from the University of Wollongong (UOW). It will discuss how Lynley and a small team of Educational Designers from UOW worked together to incorporate the DLT elements into examples of activities and resources within a Moodle site with the aim of providing a model or exemplar to develop staff’s understanding of digital learning in a way that could more easily translate to their own subject development and an exceptional learning experience for UOW students.

This allows comments and likes to be added to audio, video and image files in Moodle Media Collections. With audio and video files, comments can be added to specific points in the media item's timeline. Different comment types allow you to control who sees your comments. This includes the whole course, just you or a person you send feedback to and you.

Australian Higher education is facing the demands of new and rapidly changing student demographics, an increasingly competitive global environment and tighter funding and accountability constraints. Now, in 2016, it is an important time to understand the issues the sector is facing and consolidate the ways we are responding. We sought the perspectives of Australian university education leaders on current learning and teaching challenges, trends likely to influence the future of learning and teaching at Australian Universities and the ways our universities are responding. This presentation reports on the findings of our research thus far and some of the ways that Blackboard Strategic and other Consultancy Services are positioned to assist our institutions going forward.

Enhancing faculty-librarian collaboration: The Al Akhawayn University model. Library and Faculty collaboration is key to the university’s learning and research process. So how can library teams take the initiative to activate this process? This presentation shows the AUI model. Today, it is understood that information literacy efforts cannot succeed without serious collaboration between faculty and librarians – yet collaboration can be both an opportunity and a challenge for libraries and university communities. Mohammed VI Library at Al Akhawayn University recognizes the need and importance of this collaboration, and so its librarians have developed a strategy to highlight and provide easy access to all library resources available for AUI faculty members and students, and to promote information literacy skills.
