- #3 Blackboard has announced that they will no longer be supporting WebCT Vista the system behind Oasisplus as of January 2013, we would be required to move to the new Blackboard product – this has given us opportunity to review technology that’s supports our supports our learning and teaching and assessment
- #4 What do we actually mean by the term Virtual learning environment .We are using the term virtual learning environment to mean the process of “virtualisation of learning, teaching and assessment activity” rather than an established propriety system such as Oasisplus/Blackboard. That is simply the method of delivery
- #5 Oasis plus used as a repository but now much greater use embedded within some modules, eassessment -efeedback as well as purely DE programmes now being delivered
- #6 There are a number of factors that may influence the choice we make. What kind of students do we want to produce, what kind of graduate skills will they need, links in with employability agenda. The recent emphasis given to part-time study using flexible modes of delivery (distance education, blended learning) for a global market will inevitably impact on our learning, teaching and assessment practices, as will the prior experience of our students of learning in a digital age.
