Key benefits
• Comments are displayed using a bar graph in relationship to the timeline
• Comments can be targeted:
– Private comments
– Course comments
– Feedback comments
– Public (World) comments
• User’s can reply to comments
• Interface is horizontally aware

Lessons learned
• Graphical user interface design is not easy
• Adding more functionality makes workflow more difficult
• Success of current system has led user’s to want to expand use of the system
• Get techies to talk to techies directly where possible, but be involved!

  • #5 - Media Collection activity was commissioned with Blackboard to enable our users to upload, submit and share images, video, audio and related files in a single activity - Trialled in 3 Faculties in Semester 1, 2014 - Implemented across UNSW in Semester 2, 2014 - Integrated with a media management solution, theBox, in Semester 1, 2015 - Migrated all media files from Media Collections in Moodle to theBox - Media Collection is available from the list of plugins on Moodle HQ site UNSW Australia identified a need for a media activity in Moodle The existing lightbox didn’t support all the media types required Initial version developed by UNSW Australia and Netspot (Blackboard) Media was stored in Moodle UNSW Australia identified a need for a media activity in Moodle The existing lightbox didn’t support all the media types required Enhanced version developed by UNSW Australia, Netspot (Blackboard) and Daemon Identified need to
