What is the best way to tell what time it is?
Different kinds of clocks
Time on an analogue clock. Time on the analogue clock is represented by numbers.  They have hour hands and minute hands to tell the time.
Parts of the face of the clock Face-the front of the clock: clear Numbers:1-12: stand for the hour Marks: represent the minutes:  there are 60 Little hand: points to the hour Big hand: points to the minute Second hand: long and thin, ticks for every second
Time on a digital clock Digital clocks tell time with numbers.  First they tell the hour , then they tell the minutes. This clock reads: eight o’clock
Hour An hour is sixty minutes It  takes an hour for the big hand to go all the way round the clock. When the big hand points at the 12, and the little hand is on a number, that is the hour!

When the long hand (the minute hand) points to the 3,the long hand is one-fourth (or one-quarter) of the way around the clock or past the hour.  1:15 digital clock
