Implication of Educational Technology on Quality Teaching Appraisal from the ...ijtsrd
The purpose of this research paper was to find out the implications of educational technology on quality teaching in secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. The study had just one objective and was carried out in six divisions in the south west region. The survey research design was used and the sample was selected using the simple random sampling and the appropriate stratified random sampling technique. The sample consisted of 330 students and 100 teachers. The questionnaire and the interview were instruments used in the study to collect data. The descriptive statistics comprised tables, percentages, bars and pie charts while for inferential statistics, chi square test of independence was used to verify hypothesis. The results show that the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative retained. Some recommendations were made to better the use of ICTs in the teaching and learning process to both teachers and students Mbah Emmanuel Teke "Implication of Educational Technology on Quality Teaching: Appraisal from the Perspective of Secondary Schools in the South West Region of Cameroon" Published in International Journal of Trend in Scientific Research and Development (ijtsrd), ISSN: 2456-6470, Volume-3 | Issue-2 , February 2019, URL: https://www.ijtsrd.com/papers/ijtsrd21338.pdf

ICT can be used effectively in teacher education to enhance teaching and learning. It allows for more flexible and self-paced learning, and better connectivity between teachers and students. However, successful integration of ICT requires teachers to be comfortable with technology, have strong lesson planning incorporating its use, and address issues like technical reliability and preventing students from getting distracted. Overall, ICT is best used as a tool to supplement instruction when teachers have the right skills, resources, and constructivist teaching approach.

Careful planning is emphasized to ensure ICT is used to meet learning objectives.
Educational technology has significantly impacted education. It has increased access to unlimited resources, removed physical boundaries, and revolutionized communication through social media. While technology provides benefits like engaging students, supporting achievement, and strengthening career education, it also presents challenges. Positive effects on students include improved research abilities and globalization opportunities, while negative impacts can include a lack of curiosity and short attention spans. Educators experience benefits such as enhanced outreach and interactivity, but also struggles with adaptability to technology and reduced student interaction. Proper implementation of educational technology requires developing a clear plan, preparing teachers, researching hardware and software, and organizing management activities.
This document discusses the impact of technology on education. It explains how technology has transformed classrooms from teacher-centered environments to more student-focused settings. While technology has improved presentation of information and access to resources, challenges remain in integrating it fully into curriculums and training teachers to use it effectively. The future may see technology replace physical classrooms and enable personalized education anywhere. However, ensuring teachers and students have necessary skills will be key to realizing technology's potential benefits.
