2. INTRODUCTION
• Thrissur Railway Station – commenced on June 2, 1902
• A-1 category railway station located in Thrissur City.
• It lies on the busy Shoranur – Cochin Harbour section.
• Also connects to the temple town of Guruvayur.
• 65 pairs of trains passes through the station on an
average day.
• Have a traffic of 20,000 passengers per day.
3. NEED ANALYSIS
• Growth of passenger traffic.
• New trains are coming – Budget 2013.
• Ernakulam - Thrissur MEMU will start running.
• 3rd
and 4th
rails have been started using.
• Passengers have to cross the rail to reach 4th
platform.
• Passengers have to walk a lot of distance to get bus
towards North stand or Sakthan stand.
