In general the project is a transportation building , it is to design main train station for the capital city of Saudi Arabia,Riyadh.
in the beginning we have to know how many project of railway in saudi arabia and if it connect with the capital city. then some information about the old train
station in Riyadh.
Starting in the northwestern region of the Kingdom, this line passes through Al-Jouf, Hail and Al-Qassim regions and terminates in Riyadh with extensions to Hazm Al-Jalamid
to haul phosphate, and to Al-Zubayrah to haul bauxite, and to Ras Al-Zour on the Gulf where a major port will be constructed to export these and other mineral ores. In
order that the Saudi Council of Ministers adopted the resolution of the incorporation of the Saudi Railways Company (SAR) in 1426 which shall be in charge of the
management and operation of the North- south rail as well as the services and relevant utilities, operation and management and supervision, directly or through others in
accordance with economics operating standards and according to standards of performance and safety.The company shall also undertake the establishment, implementation,
management, operation and supervision of the railways projects in addition to the transport of mining materials, raw materials, fuel, cargo and passengers.
Also the company's capital is estimated to be one billion Saudi Riyals divided into 100 million shares of equal value where the nominal value is ten riyals per share.The
extraordinary General Assembly may, however, to put all shares of the company or part of them for subscription.
3. the project:
1-study design train station in Riyadh for a reason weakness project, which will be held so as to several
factors, including:
-Similarity to the rest of the station design urban stations in all respects
-Not taking into account the expansion of design projects which will be held
-Not CONSIDER to connect to the rest of the railway station
2-the need to study the train station to be the Landmark and different from the rest of the stations for
being the capital
3-examine the need for the station there to be able to be connected to the rest of the cities and expanded as
needed
4-examine elements of the station and the activities to be compatible with the needs and characteristics of
the surrounding area
5-overwhelming interest in mass transit and transportation
