Thomas Hardy was born in 1840 in England and studied architecture, though he left that career to become a novelist. He published his first novel A Pair of Blue Eyes in the 1870s and went on to publish other novels like Tess of the d'Urbervilles and Jude the Obscure, though their controversial topics upset some Victorian readers. Criticism of his later works led Hardy to focus on writing poetry for the rest of his life, producing over 900 poems as well as plays and short stories. He was quite prolific as a poet in his later years until his death.

Francesca Gottschalk from the OECD’s Centre for Educational Research and Innovation presents at the Ask an Expert Webinar: How can education support child empowerment?
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. His personal life
Thomas Hardy was born on 2 June 1840 in
Higher Bockhampton. He started studing
archquitecure at the age of 16 with James Hicks
till 1861. During this period of time he wrote his
frist Poem Domicilium. When he was 22, Hardy
left for London to work as a draftsman in the
office of Arthur Blomfield. Hardy's education was
interrupted by his work as an architect. By 1870,
Hardy was sent by his employer to begin a
restoration project of the St. Juliot Church in
Cornwall. Here he met his first wife, Emma
Lavinia Gifford, whom Hardy married in 1874. He
got married twice.
3. Literary life
When Hardy left his career as architect, he did so with
a contract for 11 months installments, A Pair of Blue
Eyes, in the Cornhil Magazine. His reputation as one
of England's newer novelists sustained the Hardy
family from that time on. Hardy published two more
novels, Tess of the d'Urbervilles (1891) and Jude the
Obscure (1895), which were his last long fiction
works. The last novels challenged the sensibilities of
Victorian readers with situations that ruffled many a
Victorian feather: immoral sex, murder, illegitimate
children, and the unmarried living together. Heated
debate and criticism over these two books helped
Hardy decide that he would rather write poetry. In fact,
so stung was he by the criticism of his works that
Hardy did not write another novel.
Hardy wrote short stories, poems, and plays for the
rest of his life.
4. Poetry work
Two further volumes of poetry and short stories
appeared, The Dynasts: A Drama of the
Napoleonic Wars (1903-08) and Winter
Words (1928), a volume of verse. Hardy was
quite prolific during this period, writing some 900
poems on a variety of subjects.
Hardy's body was buried at Westminster Abbey in
Poet's Corner, while his heart was buried in
Stinson, England, near the graves of his
ancestors and his first wife, Emma.
