Part One
First, use the provided
MS Excel Spreadsheet to gather the requested information about the publicly-traded company TESLA.
At the bottom of the spreadsheet, use the tabs (e.g., Week 1, 2, etc.) to enter the information for each Analysis Memo assignment.
You only need to answer Week 1 this week, but you should use the same spreadsheet as the weeks progress. For now, conduct your research and enter your data for
Week 1. This will help inform your response to Part Two.
Part Two
In a memo to the Chief Executive Officer (i.e., your instructor), assume you are a financial analyst assigned to review the publicly-traded company you picked in Discussion 1. You must use the
Memo Template provided.
For this week, you will answer the following questions (located in your template):
1. Consistent with the two areas of risk you uncovered from the 10K Report for your company and in your spreadsheet, please expand on these two areas and whether they impact maximizing shareholder wealth and responsible investing. Are these risk areas impacting the top or bottom line?
2. Corporate governance is the system of rules, practices, and processes by which a company is directed and controlled. Corporate governance refers to how companies are governed and to what purpose. Drawing from the course material and your 10K Report, are there any corporate governance issues with your chosen company? Explain.
Before completing this assignment, make sure to read Chapter 4 in the textbook, paying attention to the sections about municipal and rural water supplies.
The water distribution system is a critical component of any firefighting operation. The distribution system is equally important in a municipal or rural setting. Having a reliable water supply will dictate a fire department’s ability to extinguish most fires. While having portable water on an apparatus provides a head start on an extinguishment effort, most fires require more water than is carried on an apparatus.
Using knowledge that you have gained from this unit, go out into the community where you work or live to investigate a water distribution system. You will use details from your investigation to compose an assignment about the water system you found.
Be sure to address the following topics:
· Is the water distribution system a municipal or rural system?
· Describe the components of the system that you found, including unseen critical components and potential deficiencies.
· Report on any deficiencies of the system that you found.
· Draw conclusions on how the system could be improved.
· Discuss how the forces of water affect the water distribution system.
You may include pictures of the water distribution systems components that you think will help enhance the explanation of the system’s components. An example of this would be an elevated water tank or dry hydrant.
Your assignment must be at least two pages in length. .

6% of the course grade, or 60 points out of 1000
Value of Each Question
The assignment is graded on a scale of 0-100%, and then that percentage is applied against the value of the assignment. So if you earn a 90% on this assignment, that = 90% of 60 = 54. If you earn 3 of the 8 extra points, you would now have a 93%. 93% of 60 = 55.8. See each question for its value.
Method of Submission
Download this assignment, enter your answers into the document, save it, and then upload the document to the Folio drop box. No other method will be accepted.
Part 1: Data Migration and Loading (aka Extraction, Transformation, and Loading)
This problem is worth 40% of the assignment.
An important element of the migration of data from an old system and loading it onto a new system is the all-important intermediate process of transformation. That’s why this is also known as Extraction, Transformation, and Loading, or ETL processes.
When data is transformed, it must be mapped from the old system to the new. Mapping answers the question, given data field X in the old system, what is its corresponding field Y in the new system? But before we even perform the mapping, we have to ensure that, as a minimum, data in the old system is in Third Normal Form (3NF). Otherwise, we will be introducing possible redundancies into the new system.
This problem requires you to take a set of data that is in 1NF, and transform it into 3NF. You will be given the initial table layout with sample data in an Excel spreadsheet. You may recreate the data in 3NF in the Excel spreadsheet, or on the following blank page using the Insert Table function. You do not have to provide 2NF version of the database, just provide the 3NF version, which must include all applicable tables, and, given the data provided to you, the data in the tables. So, when this entire assignment has been completed, if you choose to complete this problem in the Excel workbook, you will be submitting TWO files – this Word document, and the Excel document.
The problem itself deals with patients in a doctor’s office. Before you reduce it from 1NF all the way to 3NF, you will need to know the following dependencies, which are listed below:
In addition, you will need to know that:
· Each patient is a member of a household
· Each patient has been to the doctor for at least one “service”

Business Intelligence Case
Project Background
Mell Industries is a national manufacturing firm that specializes in textiles based out of
Chicago. Starting out as a small factory in Warrenville, Illinois, the firm experienced a period of steady
growth over the past twenty-four years. Steadily opening new warehouses and factories in the
surrounding areas in Michigan and Indianapolis until eventually moving their base of operations to
Chicago. Due to this expansion, Mell Industries is at the height of its production and hopes to avoid any
interferences or deceleration of growth.
In recent years, the firm has been under heavy media scrutiny for supposedly compensating its
female staff unfairly lower compared to male counterparts. This was initiated when a disgruntled
employee leaked the company payroll allegedly showcasing an unjust gap of income between the
female employee and her male counterpart. This type of gender pay gap is highly criticized and as a
precaution, Mell Industries has hired Cal Poly Pomona to conduct research to determine the validity of
these claims. Mell Industries has provided Cal Poly Pomona with a data set of a sample population of
747 employees. Mell Industries has also offered Cal Poly Pomona compensation for any promising
information gathered. Mell Industries may use information gathered from this project in future
employee compensation decisions.
The initial dataset has been given to you in the form of an excel spreadsheet titled
Case_dataset.xlsx consisting of 12 columns labeled:
● Column A - Employee ID
● Column B - Gender
● Column C - Date of Birth
● Column D - Date of Hire
● Column E - Termination Date
● Column F - Occupation
● Column G - Salary
● Column H to L - Employee Evaluation Metrics
In addition, Mell Industries provided the latest annual employee performance review evaluation
results rating each employee in various performance categories. They have turned over this information
separately and as a consultant, it is your task to provide Mell Industries with the most accurate and
relevant information in a digestible form. Furthermore, using excel skills learned during the course, you
will manipulate and analyze the data set in order to make appropriate managerial decisions. You will
utilize excel functions highlighted in this project as well as a pivot table and chart to form a decision
support system in order to answer the critical thinking questions.
Project Objective
The purpose of this project is to perform a methodical data analysis to assist the company make
an informed decision. This could also serve as a basis for implementing critical adjustments to certain
business aspects if necessary. Illustrate the business process by condensing a large set of data, to
present relevant information with data visualization. We will be utilizing Microsoft Excel 2016 to

Your boss Kathryn briskly enters your office, sits down, and says, you’re going to love this assignment. Project Background
Mell Industries is a national manufacturing firm that specializes in textiles based out of
Chicago. Starting out as a small factory in Warrenville, Illinois, the firm experienced a period of steady

precaution, Mell Industries has hired Cal Poly Pomona to conduct research to determine the validity of
these claims.

You will

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
