This group assignment provides an opportunity to develop your database design skills through a hands-on activity. The focus of the assignment is to extend an existing database design at the logical level. Two scenarios are presented below, which discuss functionality that should be added to an existing design. One scenario is for the movies database and the other is for the beer database. Select only one scenario and do the following three tasks. 1.Update the design to fulfill the requirements of the selected scenario. This should include developing an extended ERD. 2. List the critical assumptions you made in your design. Also, discuss how those assumptions may limit current functionality. The current movie database design lacks the functionality to support theaters and show times. It is not possible to see what theaters a movie is currently playing in or what movies are being shown at a particular theater. Therefore, we would like to extend the design to capture the following information. a.Different movie theaters. The design should allow data to be stored such as the name and location of the theater; type of movies typically shown (e.g., first-run (current), second-run (budget), independent); type of theater (e.g., standard, drive-in, IMAX, dine-in); and movie ticket prices by category. b.List of theaters (and at what times) a movie is being shown. c.User reviews of the theaters. WAI is a new advertising firm, and they are currently hiring staff, establishing two locations, and have a need to get their internal IT services configured. They do not yet have an IT staff, but when they do, the IT staff will take over all aspects of IT administration. You are required to supply WAI with a solution which describes the implementation and configuration of their core IT services. Cost is not a significant concern – WAI wishes to implement the “right” solution to fit their needs now and for the next 2-3 years.
There are several details about WAI which will have an impact on your choices:

Mrs. Jancy works with TBL global services, IT project management company, in the HR
department. Jancy is known for her involvement not only in her duties but also in other various
activities of the department. She was aware of many minute details about the department
throughout her tenure. Hence she becomes a point of contact for any such information which
often consumes her time.
She is loaded with responsibilities very often, sometimes given to her and sometimes taken by
her. In the beginning, she was happy with her profile and gave her the best in all the
responsibilities with her. When years pass and she gets elevated to higher responsibilities she
becomes overloaded. Still, she was happy with her job.
One fine day suddenly, she realized that many of her colleagues complete their work on time and
also equally take care of their personal life. On the other hand, Jancy, having been loaded with
responsibilities completed it partially at work and partially during her personal time. This
becomes a reason for her stress.
She started questioning her ability to not being able to complete her work at the scheduled time.
Later, she understood that apart from given responsibility she was involved in many other crucial
activities of the department which becomes her additional responsibility which slowly the people
forget that it is not under her job profile.
Jancy Being highly disturbed started feeling her job as a burden. She thought she cant come out
of this because the habit which she developed for herself and her coworkers is irreversible. So
she finally decided to take a break from her job.
She fixed an appointment with the head HR, Mr. Ratan, for her resignation, He knows the fact
that her involvement is irreplaceable and he also knew that she can be his competitor in a very
short period, so, he had some other plans for her.
During the conversation, Ratan understood that Jancy is highly stubborn in leaving the job. So he
convinced her to do work from home and advised her to limit her responsibilities as she will not
come in any direct contact with the employees. Jancy happily accepted the option and she felt
relaxed.
At the same time, Mr. Ratan was reporting to CEO Mr. Vedant Sir, I didnt accept the resignation.
I have given Jancy the option of work from home and she accepted to continue the job. Mr.
Vedant asked but Ratan how did you made her accept this offer. And why you have given this
option. As per her colleagues, her nature of doing the job is a key component.
Mr. Ratan with a smile replied. Sir I advised her to limit her responsibilities to her profile by
opting for work from home. She accepted the offer. And I am very sure that her very nature of
involvement will not allow her to restrict her responsibility even after opting for work from
home. So I am not going to lose the benefit of her involvement.

Description - This assignment aims at becoming familiar with Logisim and how to use basic
circuit schematic elements. The goal of this assignment is to create a small and simple circuit
that will convert three 4-bit binary numbers to a hexadecimal value each.
Tasks - This assignment will have two circuits: A main circuit that will include 3 hex digit
displays and inputs that allow the user to input a total of 12 bits. The second circuit is a so called
subcircuit, which will be used in the main circuit and will connect the inputs to the hex displays.
This subcircuit will route each bit from the inputs to the correct hex display using splitters.
In Logisim, create a new file, add a subcircuit called "Converter", open it and do the following:
To control the first hex digit display:
Add 4 inputs with a bit width of 1
Add 1 output with a bit width of 4
Add a splitter with 4 fan outs and a bit width of 4
Connect the four 1-bit circuit inputs to the splitter fan out
For each of the four inputs: Set the "Label" property to the letter "i" and append the number of
the splitter fan out it is connected to (should be a number between 0 and 3).
Connect the splitter output to the 4-bit output of the circuit
Add the label "hex 1" to the output
To control the second hex digit display:
Add 2 inputs one with a bit width of 1 and the other with a bit width of 3
Add 1 output with a bit width of 4
Add a splitter with 2 fan outs and a bit width of 4
In order to make the splitter take in a group of 3 bits on one fan out and 1 bit on the second, we
need to change the properties: Make sure the splitter has one fan out for bits 0, 1 and 2 (3-bit
bus) and bit 3 on a separate fan out (1-bit wire).
Connect the two inputs (1 bit input and 3 bit input) to the splitter fan out
Connect the splitter output to the second 4-bit output of the circuit
For each of the two inputs: Set the "Label" property to the letter "j" and append the number of
the splitter fan out it is connected to (should be the two numbers 3 and 2,1,0, make sure the label
reflects the bit position correctly)
Add the label "hex 2" to the output
To control the third hex digit display:
Add 2 inputs with a bit width of 2
Add 1 output with a bit width of 4
Add a splitter with 2 fan outs and a bit width of 4
Connect the two 2-bit circuit inputs to the splitter fan out
Connect the splitter output to the third 4-bit output of the circuit
For each of the two inputs: Set the "Label" property to the letter "k" and append the bit numbers
of the splitter fan out it is connected to (should be the two numbers 3,2 and 1.
