By the end of third grade, students will have accomplished various music performance objectives. They will sing rounds and rhythmic patterns with good tone quality. Students will read and notate half notes, whole notes, and rests, and identify lines and spaces of the treble clef. They will perform dances reflecting different cultural heritages and identify music from various genres and cultures. Students will also classify instruments, describe changes in moods in music, and show appropriate audience behavior when others perform.
