Reflection About Psalm
Exactly what does this psalm mean to you? Does it remind you of a funeral that you attended in the
past? That would not be uncommon since in the 20th century it has been associated with and used at
funerals both on film and in real life arenas. Yet, I implore you to take a closer look at it in order to
find another way of looking at it. You might be surprised that it represents the very essence of what is
going on in our society today. There are times when it is difficult to address some of the most horrific
experiences and happenings occurring on a daily basis. I am asking you to take a moment and apply
this to what God has offered us as represented in the 23rd Psalm. We all walk through the valley of the
shadow of death. There are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The thoughts that ran through my mind as I told myself to remain calm in order to keep my brother
calm were excessive. But I had a job to do. I had to keep my cool. As the paramedics arrived and I
could hear the background of her high blood pressure number and them frantically working on her
with life sustaining machinery I said a prayer to myself and continued to keep my cool. My mother
came to based on the questions being asked to her and it was assumed that she had had a stroke. But
she came to. At this point I proceeded to head to Newark, NJ where she was taken to ICU and placed
on a respirator with a grim prognosis due to her medical history and extent of her stroke that could be
seen thus far. But on the ride down, I could not help remembering that this was the woman who taught
me psalm 23. I remembered the words verbatim to it. I started pondering the meaning behind the
words and exactly what it may represent. I recognized the trouble as being the fear of death at this
point and walking through the valley of the shadow of death. But where was the grace? I knew I
needed to find the grace no matter what the outcome of my mother s situation. I needed to find the
grace. The grace in the psalm is witnessed in the fourth verse. I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.
How many times have you gone through a tough situation and realized that God was with you? God
may not have jumped up and down in front of you or dropped a bucket of water on

The Political Science Of Voters And Their Knowledge
There is still a debate within the political science community about voters and their knowledge.
Manand argues that voters are not dumb but rather, they are just not smart when it comes to politics.
Ambramowitz believes that low voter turnout is okay because the people who are voting are the ones
who actually understand and know politics. Key believes that independent voters not knowing or
understanding politics is okay because voters as a whole group will inevitable pick the correct
candidate. Caplan disagrees. The median voter wants protection. Protection makes the median voter
worse off. But the median voter does not want to be worse off (Caplan 142). Caplan believes that
voters do not simply not know or understand things but rather they intentionally pick the wrong or
incorrect answer. Caplan believes this is because in the political arena, unlike the rest of American
society, there is no real repercussions for choosing wrong. A possible example of this is Americans
choosing to believe that a terrorist attack is more fearful, and probable, than a mass shooting.
According to a survey taken by Gallup conducted between December 11th and 12th of this past year,
47% of Americans were worried about an attack orchestrated by the Islamic State, compared to only
38% of Americans who were worried about a mass shooting. The 9% difference between these two
possible events contrasts with the number of mass shootings in the United States in 2015 and the
number of terrorist

Environmental And Environmental Challenges In The...
The aquaculture industry has been plagued issues such as water pollution, fish disease outbreaks,
destruction of coastal habitat and escapes that have tarnished its reputation and stimulated significant
backlash against the industry. In response, the industry turned to placing marine farming systems
miles offshore, in deeper waters with large currents to reduce the environmental risks associated with
conventional aquaculture. Studies have shown when cited properly with adequate flushing rates,
offshore aquaculture operations left a neutral nutrient impact on the water column and had diminished
water and benthic pollution. By producing fish in less polluted marine environments, offshore
operations can improve the quality of the product, improve market access, and increase profit.
However, offshore aquaculture still faces a number of sustainability challenges that jeopardizes the
ecological and economical integrity of the sector.
 Fish Escapes
Although offshore systems are designed to prevent any escape events, it cannot be guaranteed that
escape will never occur as the sector expands to commercial and industrial scales, even with the risk
of massive escape events caused by extreme weather events are mitigated as submersible cages are
able to withstand and avoid storms. Escapes can occur from human error during cage maintenance and
harvesting, from collision of ships, and vandalism. Escaped fish can cause potential harm to the
marine ecosystem and native species by

Nt1310 Unit 6 Exercise 1
Premise: A team of three contestants answer a series seven questions by attempting to diffuse seven
bombs before they explode. On each question, one contestant will have a certain amount of time to
clip the wires that lead to the correct answers on each bomb. Each teammate must answer at least one
question in the game. Successfully diffusing a bomb adds the money at stake for the question to the
team bank. If a contestant clips a wire which leads to an incorrect answer or if time expires, the bomb
explodes, sliming the contestant with a mystery substance (maple syrup, pesto, tomato sauce, etc.),
and eliminates them from the game without adding any money to the team bank. Here s how the game
is structured for each bomb: #1: $5,000; 30 seconds to get 3 right answers (4 possible answers) #2:

The gameplay is well constructed with the rising levels of difficulty, big risk/big reward end game, the
absence of frivolous elements including lifelines and challenging trivia questions. BOOM!

pressure. The physical aspect of the show with the contestants manually clipping the wires under the
pressures of time and cash at stake gives you exhilarating feeling as if they are diffusing an actual
bomb in a spy movie. From the hundredth second countdown clock to the five second pauses between
contestants clipping wires to abruptly cutting to commercial breaks during tense moments, the
producers of the FOX version did an wonderful job creating the suspenseful atmosphere on BOOM!.

#8 Season Four Soundtrack all about Freaks
Considering the time period in season four was 1952, it didn t seem logical for the characters to sing
songs that weren t in existence then. However, there was a method to this particular madness.
Ryan Murphy explained that he had selected songs based on the freakiness of the original artists who
sang them, such as David Bowie, Nirvana and Lana Del Rey.
#9 Filming Bette Dot Takes 12 15 Hours
Sarah Paulson s talking heads role on American Horror Story is incredibly intricate. Paulson plays
conjoined twins, Bette Dot Tattler. It can take up to 15 hours to film a single scene where both heads
talk, as opposed to about five hours for the other actors. It is necessary to do separate takes including,
master recording, close ups, medium shots and those needed for the green screen.
Two prosthetic heads must be created. When Paulson portrays Bette, she wears the animatronic (right)
head of Dot and vice versa. Both faux heads move

The Colorado River
We usually think of the Grand Canyon in terms of its rocks, and the story and history that they can
contain, spanning as far back as half of the Earth s age. There is more to this canyon though than the
rocks, as it is still active as a forever changing landform, due to the power of running water. The
Colorado River has carved out the Grand Canyon in just the last nine million years. In fact, the river
itself carries about half a million tons of sediment through the Grand Canyon each and every day.
There are a number of different river types that will be talked about, and how exactly they have
effected their environment and made changes in the landscapes. Valleys were once thought to have
formed independently as water flowed down a channel within the area of the valley. What is now
known, is that all rivers (located within valleys), combined with the power of mass wasting, have
formed the valleys by picking up sediment from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A delta is when the water is calm from this loss of velocity, and the sediment can build up creating
multiple dams and small river channels, in which the water and sediment can switch between which
river channel has a greater flow. This switch can vary though, as these stronger flows on different
branch channels can last for long periods of time. Rivers have had enormous amounts of destructive
power. They have caused mass floods that have damaged towns and cities surrounding them, and have
also caused damage to families, taking lives. With all of this damage that has been caused by rivers
though, they have given back, with thriving life and people surrounding them for their beauty and
resources. One of the most important things they have done is carve out landscapes, which create
legacies to their existence. In fact, these rivers are the largest formers of the Earth s modern landscape

Examples Of Reality In George Orwell s 1984

14 November 2017 The Party and Objective Reality In the the book 1984 by George Orwell it s a
town where the people believe in one person big brother . In this book if you disobey the big brother
you will get tortured or some kind of punishment. Winston a quiet 39 living in Oceania who does not
believe in the big brother although trying to hide it he disobeyed the rules and had to get punished.
With any government is it possible for them to control the minds of citizens to believe that there is no
law of gravity or other scientific facts. The government can do this by brainwashing the people by
telling them over and over what they want them to believe and start taking away any information they
want them too. If this were to happen the people will never get to know the actual truth their actual
rights for things the people would believe that everything is normal and this is how it is supposed to
be. Just as in the book the People could not read they have to believe everything the party says that

people do not know any better because everything was taken there s no other history to them and if the
thought police suspects you as trying to find something or breaking their rules they will arrest you.

Reflection Paper On Titanic
Today I chose to watch Titanic for the very first time. I chose to watch Titanic, because I wanted to
know what the movie was really about, maybe I might like the movie. Actually watching the movie
gives you another perspective than just knowing what the setting and theme is about. Many people
looked at me like I was crazy, when I said I had never watched Titanic , and wanted to finally watch it,
and see if I actually would like, so I gave it a chance. My one regret is coming into the movie hating it
and not wanting to enjoy it. I thought that the movie was going to be the worst three hours of my life, I
will never make that mistake coming into a movie already hating it before I even watched it.
I watched the movie on my laptop in my room alone. My experience during the movie was actually

Speech About Coconut
Coconut (Cocos nucifera L.) is one of the main crops which is abundantly produced in the Philippines.
Coconut can be served as food and can be produced to various products and by products. Some food
examples are copra, coconut oil, coconut milk, latik, desiccated coconut, coconut flour, etc. As
compared to other agricultural crops, coconut provides more products and by products since all of its
parts starting from the tree itself to the fruits has its uses. Hence, many people especially in Southeast
Asia, Pacific region, Africa and some countries in Latin America, considered coconut as a significant
crop in agriculture and industries (The Coconut Industry, n.d.). Since supply of coconut is very
essential to many countries, it is essential to monitor its production. The production per land area can
be quantified through crop yield.
Crop yield is used to determine the efficiency of food production. Basically, it is the amount of
produced crop per area of land. Moreover, it is sometimes called as agricultural output and conveyed
in kilograms/hectare or metric tons/hectare. Essentially, the use of evaluating the crop yield is to

The Importance Of An Ecosystem
An ecosystem is a biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment. An
ecosystem consists of biotic factors and abiotic factors. The biotic factors of an ecosystem are the
living organisms, while the abiotic factors of an ecosystem are the temperature, climate, sun, and the
weather. The ecosystem being researched is the Great Barrier Reef. The Great Barrier Reef is located
right off of Australia. The Great Barrier Reef has around 400 types of coral and 1,500 species of fish.
It has more than 3000 different reef systems. The Great Barrier Reef is one of the natural wonders of
the world, and for good reason. On the Great Barrier Reef lives the Whitetip Reef Shark, Triaenodon
Obesus, prefers to eat crabs and octopi, as well as other animals of the sea. The scientific name for the
octopus is Octopoda. The relationship between the Whitetip and the octopus is an example of
predation. Predation is the preying of one animal on other animals. The species of octopi are usually
mostly carnivores, although some are omnivores. The Whitetip Reef Shark species is also a
carnivorous species. Another organism that lives on the reef is the sea cucumber. The sea cucumber, or
Holothuroidea, is a decomposer that lives on the reef floor and eats animal wastes as it crawls along. A
threat to the reef, specifically the coral, is the Acanthaster planci, otherwise known as the crown of
thorns starfish. This starfish is a predator to the coral because it eats the live

Human Trafficking And The Economic Sphere
Critically analyze the development of human trafficking and its connections to the legitimate
economic sphere. To what extent is this market a result of global structural conditions?
In recent years, due to the threat it poses to human security, human trafficking has been identified as
one of the major and fast growing transnational problems. It is also perceived as a form of modern
slavery and one of the greatest human rights challenges of our times. Therefore, tackling human
trafficking is highly prioritized in many countries (European Commission, 2009). In the last 20 years
the occurrence of human trafficking has dramatically increased, and trade in human beings has
become one large part of the illicit global economy. Many criminals see this type of transnational
crime as a low risk high reward crime, and this may be one of the reasons why they show a preference
for it (Lee, 2007). The United Nations Protocol to Prevent, Suppress, and Punish Trafficking in
Persons, also known as the Palermo Protocol, adopted in 2000 defines human trafficking as: The
recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by means of threat or use of
force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a
position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of

Animals Of All Kinds Have Been Known For Their Positive...
Animals of all kinds have been known for their positive impact on humans. Animal assisted Therapy
(AAT) was first incorporated into the mental health institutions in the late eighteenth century to help
increase socializations among the patients. As of today, a number of AAT programs have mainly
targeted populations of patients with PTSD or those who have experienced trauma. PTSD (post
traumatic stress disorder) is classified as an anxiety disorder characterized by the common symptoms
avoidance, intrusion, alterations in mood and cognition, and alterations in arousal and reactivity (O
Haire, M.E,. Guerin, N.A., Kirkham, A.C., 2015). The presence of an animal is thought to encourage a
safe and open environment, elicit positive emotion and warmth, increase socializations, and increase
the release of oxytocin, which aids in the relaxation process. Perhaps that s why PTSD or trauma
patients respond so well when AAT is included in treatment. AAT is not a therapy used alone, but
rather coupled with other treatment to enhance the therapy process. (Dietz, T. J., Davis., Pennings, J.
2012).
PICO Statement My PICO statement is in patients with PTSD or traumatic experiences, what is the
effect of animal assisted therapy compared to no animal assisted therapy on decreasing traumatic
symptoms? Therapy is the type of PICO question. Based on my PICO statement the best type of
evidence to use for this particular question would be randomized or non randomized controlled trials.

Most of what a person needed to know they learned at home. Boys learned to farm, build, and hunt
while girls learned how to garden, care for the family, sew and cook.
The spread of Enlightenment ideals was the primary cause of the first Great Awakening and it further
intensified conflicts between eighteenth century colonial citizens (Davidson, J., 2006). The conflict
between superpowers for control of the continent began the Seven Years War. Some put the beginning
of the Seven Years War in 1754, but it actually occurred from 1756 to 1763. In the Seven Years War,
France and Great Britain struggled to control eastern North America (Davidson, J., 2006) The area
between the Mississippi River and the Appalachian mountain range was contested as both nations
claimed it. When the British won the Seven Years War, their colonial holdings doubled in size and
they gained control of North America. Conflicts over trading rights and the control of the Ohio
country was the primary cause of the French and Indian War (Davidson, J., 2006). British control of
North American and the Seven Years War led to many problems as the British struggled to maintain
their supremacy. The French came out behind in each of these struggles. They lost their position as
highest colonial power for the next generation their position would not be restored until the French
Revolution of the 1790 s.

Disc Brakes Are The Finest
Disc Brakes are the Finest
Brakes have been around for a few years, and only a couple different types of brakes can be
manufactured. The two classifications of brakes are disc brakes and drum brakes. Drum brakes are an
older type of brake that uses springs and levers to apply brake pads to the wheels. Disc brakes are a
newer type of brake that uses a piston and an O ring to apply pressure to the brake pads. Which in turn
creates friction to a rotor that is bolted to the wheel, whereas drum brakes only apply pressure to the
wheel (Stockel, Auto Service 714). These brakes have been used in many different vehicles as well as
used in trailers and motorcycles. Disc brakes are seen in most cars today throughout the world; though
they did not start out as the best brake when they were first engineered, disc brakes are now the best
leading brakes out there because of the quality and performance level that was engineered into this
brake. Before there were any disc brakes, cars first had drum brakes that were the first engineered
brakes to be operational. Anyone who remembers driving passenger cars with four wheel drum brakes,
no doubt remembers their scary tendency to quit working when wet, or after repeated, hard stops
(Richards). Drum brakes have been around for a very long time, so manufactures have caught most of
the problems with drum brakes. This creating trust between the customers and their brakes on their
cars. Then the next big leap came in the 1970s,

The Residential Appraiser Is Taught On Our Local Markets,...
The residential appraiser is taught how to measure a home, examine it for positive and negative
features, take photos, study the neighborhood, seek out comparable sales and listings, and create a
report that solves a valuation problem. All of these things primarily involve the technical side of the
work. But what about the bigger picture? What we do has a profound effect upon our local markets,
communities, and the nation as a whole. We are an important participant in all of these things.
You can see it in everyday practice. Is it just a coincidence that a size adjustment of say $30 per square
foot seems to be just right in equating two or three comparables? Is that only what the market seems

But if you still are not sure, think about some things that will happen if you do the wrong thing.
Being listed in MLS, if that home does end up closing at the inflated price, it will show up as a closed
sale in MLS. When brokers and agents conduct a competitive market analysis of another similar home
they want to list, the inflated price of the property you over appraised will enter into their research and
influence the list price the agent recommends to their seller. I have seen situations where just one
inflated sale caused every new listing in a neighborhood to be priced at the same level. The inflated
sale can cause a cascade effect. Now every home is overpriced because of one inflated sale. The result
is buyers faced with less affordability and/or sellers attempting to sell their homes at asking prices that
are not realistic. Buyers, sellers, agents and even lenders and title companies out there can suffer as a
result of this. All because you did not do your duty and failed to consider the bigger picture.
The appraiser, whether he or she realizes it or not, often acts as a traffic cop. The mere presence of a
policeman on a busy road will cause most sensible drivers to pay greater attention to the rules of the

Essay on Proposed Revisions to the Army Tattoo Policy
Although tattoos represent a variety of things in a person s life, they don t necessarily dictate how well
a person is able to perform their job. For the last few months, there has been an ongoing debate about
troops in the Army that have tattoos, and as a result their careers have been placed on the line. With
this upcoming change, it has been specifically said that troops cannot have tattoos that extend below
their knees and above their elbows and ones that reach above their neckline. Sgt. Maj. Raymond
Chandler argues that tattoos cannot be racist, extremist, or sexist. If the tattoo violates that then they
will have to get it removed (Freedberg). While it is assumed that this is limited to new recruits, it will

At the time the Army gained a large number of troops, but what they failed to realize was that they
enlisted more troops than they needed. This is when the proposed revision to the grooming policy
came up for discussion. With the new revisions tattoos won t be the only thing up for discussion; hair,
makeup, and piercings will be too (Dallet). In a recent article there was a discussion about an off duty
troop who was unshaven, and had on torn clothes who had a piercing. While he was out and about on
the military base, he was seen by a few Airmen and who quickly labeled the Army as The Ghetto
Service . This assumption gave the impression that the Army let anyone who wanted to enlist in. This
relates back to the army tattoo policy, because I feel that the Army is placing those that have tattoos in
the same category as those Airmen. Chandler took that situation as an insult and this is when he
decided that it was time to fix this.
At this time the troops have the First Amendment to back them on this issue at hand. The amendment
gives them the right to express their freedom of speech. As I previously stated there wasn t a specific
way that your speech had to be expressed. So it all boils down to the question if the army is
discriminating against their troops, or they just won t deal with tattoos. An example of a troop
exercising his right was where Gunja talks about how Kalsi, the first Sikh soldier to

The Concept Of Self Care
Concept analysis is a combination of seven steps that work together to clarify concepts in our nursing
practice (McEwen Wills, 2014). The term self care is a concept from Orem s self care deficit theory.
The purpose of this concept analysis is to clarify the concept and determine how it is used in the
nursing practice, particularly with rehabilitation patients. We will further explore this concept with
literature reviews, the possible uses of this concept, its attributes, model and alternative cases,
antecedents and consequences, and finally empirical referents. Aim of Analysis The aim of this
concept analysis is to clearly define the concept of self care in relation to rehabilitation patients. The
characteristics of self care will be further explored and explained, as well as its importance to nursing
practice. By understanding the concept better, nurses will be able to be more involved in the patient s
care and increase the rate of their recovery (Arman Hok, 2015). Literature Review According to
Hashemi et al. (2013), promoting self care with patients gives them more control over their lives
leading to an improved quality of life. The article emphasized the importance of empowering patients
to perform activities independently. Orem s self care model was used as a clinical guideline for the
self care programs they developed for the patients. There were three different care models they
focused on depending on the patient s needs and conditions. If the patient

Geology Of The Oaks Belt
Geology of the Oaks Belt The Oaks Belt is composed of mafic to felsic volcanic and volcaniclastic
rocks, clastic sedimentary rocks, iron formation and several generations of intrusive rocks. Mafic
volcanic rocks constitute the bulk of the stratigraphy in the OB and occur as both pillowed basalts and
massive flows. They are aphanitic to fine grained and dark green to black (Frey and Venzke, 1991).
Mafic volcaniclastic rocks are more common lower in stratigraphy. Intermediate volcanic rocks occur
almost exclusively as tuffs, are feldspar phyric and contain 20 30% mica and amphibole. Felsic
volcaniclastic rocks vary from rhyolites to dacites and occur mainly near the stratigraphic top of the
volcanic pile where they directly underlie massive sulfide and iron formation deposits. These highly
siliceous rocks are mica and amphibole poor, and occur as both quartzphyric fragments and tuffs.
Felsic agglomerate rocks transition from dacite to rhyolite down stratigraphy (Frey and Venzke, 1991).
Clastic rocks are most common in the central part of the study area and display graded bedding as well
as slumping and soft sediment deformation (Frey and Venzke, 1991).Chemical sedimentary rocks in
the OB include iron formation and chert. The tendency of massive sulfide deposits to occur in
brecciated piles of tuff fragments with associated footwall alteration indicates they are not seawater
precipitates. Chert is typically sulfidic, with pyrite and pyrrhotite as the main sulfide minerals.

Perfect Competition
Perfect Competition
In economic theory, perfect competition describes markets such that no participants are large enough
to have the market power to set the price of a homogeneous product. Because the conditions for
perfect competition are strict, there are few if any perfectly competitive markets. Still, buyers and
sellers in some auction type markets, say for commodities or some financial assets, may approximate
the concept. Perfect competition serves as a benchmark against which to measure real life and
imperfectly competitive markets.
Generally, a perfectly competitive market exists when every participant is a price taker , and no
participant influences the price of the product it buys or sells. Specific characteristics may ... Show

In this way way it decides the market price as well as the total quantity if a commodity supplied in the
market, and therefore it is called a price maker.
Imperfect Competition
In economic theory, imperfect competition is the competitive situation in any market where the sellers
in the market sell different/dissimilar of goods, (haterogenous) that does not meet the conditions of
perfect competition. Forms of imperfect competition include: * Monopoly, in which there is only one
seller of a good. * Oligopoly, in which there are few sellers of a good. * Monopolistic competition, in
which there are many sellers producing highly differentiated goods. * Monopsony, in which there is
only one buyer of a good. * Oligopsony, in which there are few buyers of a good. * Information
asymmetry when one competitor has the advantage of more or better information.
There may also be imperfect competition due to a time lag in a market. An example is the jobless
recovery . There are many growth opportunities available after a recession, but it takes time for
employers to react, leading to high unemployment. High unemployment decreases wages, which
makes hiring more attractive, but it takes time for new jobs to be created.A type of market that does
not operate under the rigid rules of perfect competition. Perfect competition implies an industry or
market in which no one supplier can influence prices, barriers to entry

Eastern Grey Squirrel Research Paper
The Eastern grey squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis) are small mammals that are often seen around parks
and trees in the New York City area. Both males and females look alike in color and size. On many
occasions they involve in behaviors may not be easily understood by the onlookers. They often engage
in behaviors such as deception, a behavior that involve a squirrel to cache its food from conspecifics
by pretending to hide its food in an area but instead carrying the food in its mouth and hiding it
elsewhere (Steele, M. A., Halkin, S. L., Smallwood, P. D., McKenna, T. J., Mitsopoulos, K., Beam, M.
2008) and also in cache hoarding such a behavior involves the storing of food for later retrieval
(Hopewell, L. J., Leaver, L. A. 2008). Apart from all the other behaviors that squirrel part take in, two
important behaviors that this research will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Forging behaviors can be described as a behavior where animals have their heads down in search of
food and not too aware of what is happening in their immediate environment, where as a vigilant
behavior is where an animal is on its hind legs with its heads up or sometimes in a frozen position and
cannot forage (H.R. Pulliam, G.H. Pyke, T. Caraco, 1982). Because squirrels are small mammals they
do tend to be more vigilant of their surroundings. Foraging and vigilant behaviors are important
because of the fact that these animals are smaller and are likely to be attacked by predators. When they
are in a foraging behavior it can be difficult to be aware of other mammals that are lurking around,
thus they also involve themselves in vigilant behaviors to determine if there is a threat or not. Smaller
mammals tend to display higher vigilance than those of larger sizes due to their increased risk of
predation (StevenL.Lima, Thomas J. Valone, Thomas Caraco,

My First Skateboard Research Paper
A time in my life when I attempted to reach a goal was when I got my first skateboard. I had ridden
one before but had never had one of my own. I tried to ride it as much as I could and get better.
It all started on Christmas of 2009, it was snowing, cold and windy I was at my uncles and my mom
came and picked me up to go home. There was a skateboard in the back seat. I was eight years old and
this was my second time even seeing a skateboard. I felt excited, happy, and nervous, nervous because
I hadn t really ridden one. My goal was to learn how to ride, and from there learn tricks. This goal was
significant to me because I wouldn t be where I am in my skating now if I hadn t set it.
Achieving this goal was essential because I wanted to become

BRISBANE AT WAR 1939 till 1945 The United States of America entered WW2 in 1941, directing
their campaign from Australia as it started to perceive threats from Japan (2). By 1942, Brisbane had
been set up as the support and training base for the Pacific War (2). Military personal from America
started arriving in Brisbane, with the small number of troops requiring accommodation being dealt
with by leasing rooms in many of the CBDs hotels, guest houses, or by leasing rooms in private
residences (5). This solution was quickly obsolete as troops poured into the city, with approximately
100,000 US troops stationed around the city between 1942 and 1945 (1 3). During this period,

Since the racecourse was an important recreation facility in Brisbane, the Americans were not allowed
to damage the racetracks, therefore the campsite remained a tented city, with only a few temporary pre
fabricated buildings (5). Similarly, Victoria Park, another large open field, was offered to the US Army
to set up camp. It too was handed over with very strict rules that it had to be given back to council
with no damages. The sites close proximity to the CBD and Normanby rail yards made it a prime spot
for the troops, and so a camp site was set up with prefabricated huts spread throughout the park. The
exhibition grounds, The Rocklea State School and showgrounds, Yeronga Park, the Camp site in
Moorooka, and the Chermside Army Camps were all also sites chosen due to their large grounds and
access to tramlines. Chermside in particular, had to accommodate 3,500 militia troops, and so they
were accommodated on a large paddock that was close to Geebung railway station and also had good
road access. The camps had a vast array of tented lines for accommodation, with pre fabricated
buildings housing the camps messes and bathing areas (5). Camp sites sometimes also had a certain
type of demographic allowed inside. This segregation meant that there were sites specifically for
married men, bachelors, African Americans, and Females. Camp Freeman for example was set up to

A Prom Divided Analysis
When I read through A Prom divided I find myself not surprised, sadly. This is something that really
shows what the United States is coming to. So many people seem to be worried about what other
people are like according to their appearances. They need to stop judging people by their looks and
realize that the personality in someone and who they are is all that really matters. People everyday are
not getting to do certain things because of some reason that should not define what they should be able
to do. This seems to be a issue that I don t think would and hope would never happen at my school or
in my community. When the article talks about the prom being divided this made me so sad and paste

I am not surprised that this happening because of how many issues like this are happening right now,
as much as I wish I was surprised this is appending I am not. Even though the parents seem to think
that this is a normal prom for the kids and are trying to help the kids out, I believe that this is not the
parents responsibility. If the children want to all go to prom together as a grade that is what they
should be able to do, regarding their skin color. While most proms in this area are what a normal prom
is the one in this town is not normal . These kids have separate proms one for the white students and
one for the black students. While most of the students at the high school are white, the white parents
are the ones who wants their kids to have a private prom. The students at this school are friends with
all the races at the school and at outside of school events, but theses proms are continuing to be
separated, not by the student s choice but by the parents. To me this seems like it is more the parents
controlling the prom than the kids one girl said Most of the students do want prom together (Corbett
n.pag.).These students do everything else together they feel that it is wrong that they don t go to prom
together, but they continue to do it just because this is what the parents organize and want. My best
friend is white, said one senior girl, a little glumly.

Gold Mining in Australia
When did gold mining begin in Australia? Gold has been rumoured that it was found in Australian as
early as 1814, however, the first gold fields did not appear until thirty years later. Gold was found in
Australia many decades before the Goldrush. The first discovery of gold was actually in New South
Wales, in May 1851 by Edward Hargreaves. In fact, this was a tentative start to the Goldrush. Gold
was commonly found only in New South Wales and Victoria in the days. How was gold mined? (Now
and then) Well, long time ago it actually wasn t mined, it was panned. You had to search and find the
right river to find gold. Then you pick a spot along the river or stream with a slow current and a spot
that has large rocks or a fallen tree along the water s edge. Than you pick up your pan (metal in the
day). Then dirt and gravel in scooped into the pan and then submerged into the water. The dirt and
gravel will float, and because gold is heavier and denser it will say in the pan. This process uses the
density of gold and the force of gravity to separate gold particles from other sedimentary deposits.
Another common way in the day was sluicing. The water washes down fine gravel containing gold so
that it can be directed into sluice boxes and recovered using gravity separation (where the heavy gold
is trapped at the bottom and the lighter sands are washed away). The world has advanced and
developed numerously. More sophisticated techniques have been developed for gold to be found

Essay The Current Status of Medical Marijuana
In the year 2008, Michigan voted in the use of marijuana for medical purposes. I will be exploring two
papers, the first is Prohibition Works: Keeping Marijuana Illegal, the second is Legalization of
Marijuana. In the paper Prohibition Works the author discusses numerous reasons marijuana should be
kept illegal, and the second paper Legalization of Marijuana the author makes many valid points on
why marijuana should be legalized for medical use. Michigan now joins 15 other states that have
passed laws for consumption of marijuana for medical purposes. Both marijuana and medical
marijuana are the same substance. In this paper I will discuss how the federal government views the
use of marijuana, how doctors argue their case whether they are ... Show more content on

WebMD has an article that lists the psychological effects of marijuana over a short time are: paranoia,
time distortion, anxiety, depression random thoughts, and memory loss. There is also withdrawal in
some patients can include: appetite loss, anxiety, depression, and aggression (Amal Chakraburtty,
2010). These side effects hold true to users of marijuana whether they use it legally with the medical
marijuana card or if they are using this drug without the medical marijuana card.
The federal government does not seem to be changing their laws when it comes to marijuana. Andre
Kratzer makes reference to some doctors that believe marijuana is good for pain reduction, it can
increase appetite, and calms down nausea (Kratzer, 2004). Even though some of the side effects are
negative doctors look at the negatives and positives and weigh them out. If the positive effects are
more of a benefit than the negative then they will suggest medical marijuana for that patient. The list
for benefits of marijuana include but are not limited to cancer patients being treated with
chemotherapy, AIDS patients that have lost their appetite, it is also said to be helpful in the relief of
pain for MS patients, along with helping to slow the progression of glaucoma. However, doctors that
are against the use of marijuana look at the bad side effects and decide that there is no medical

Roaring 20 s Use Of Hindsight In The Great Depression
The problem with comprehension is, it often comes too late. Rasmenia Massoud is talking here about
what is called hindsight. Hindsight is the way in which you can understand a situation only after it has
happened or developed. When looking at history, we use a lot of hindsight. In the case of the Roaring
20 s turning into the Great Depression, we can see in hindsight that there were many extraneous and
careless occurrences in the 20s that spawned the Great Depression whereas during the 20s we didn t
see this. We can now use hindsight to see that these detrimental factors stemmed from the stock
market, the government, and society at the time. At the time, things seemed great but we can see now
that they inflicted a lot of burden later on. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
President Warren Harding and President Calvin Coolidge were the Presidents during the roaring 20s
and they favored large businesses and helped those businesses by making tax cuts that encouraged
business expansion. While the rising of these big businesses did help in decreasing unemployment,
they also played a role in the increase of the cost of living. This higher cost of living made the Great
Depression worse. Another lapse of judgement by the government pertained to both the stock market
and the federal banking system. In the 20 s banks were allowed to invest in land and the stock market
with very little government regulations. The banks were using the people s money to invest in unstable
and unpredictable endeavors. When the stock market crashed, the banks had no money to give back to
the people who stored their money in the banks.
Society in America also helped unknowingly cause the Great Depression. In the 1920s manufacturing
and agricultural advancements in technology caused the increase in efficiency in production. This
seemed to be a great thing, however there wasn t enough demand of these products to keep up with the
rapid production because people weren t making enough money. The leftover supply of these goods
increased dramatically while the income for the farmers stayed low. It set rural, farm areas up to
struggle ever

Pompey. However, there are very few instances where we can see Caesar on stage with little focus on
revelation of his personal attributes, whereas Marcus Brutus has remained the main focus throughout
the play. Initially, Cassius seems to provoke Brutus to get acquainted with his notions about Caesar

Trade Networks Change Over Time Essay
In 300 CE the trade routes of Africa and Eurasia were increasing in complexity, as they became major
arteries for the exchange of goods and ideas over long distances. The trade networks of these regions
consistently enabled the spread of religious ideas far beyond their original homelands. Networks like
the Trans Saharan, Indian Ocean, and Silk Road systems always brought wealth to foreign products
that enabled local producers to specialize in items best suited to their regions. Yet, the risk of long
distance trade decreased over this period as societies expanded and technology increased.
Furthermore, the amount of trade done on these networks was inconsistent between 300 CE and 1450
CE. Throughout this extensive time period, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The invention of the Dhow and Lateen sails made sea trade much easier and faster, and these
technologies eventually dominated sea trade from the Mediterranean to East Africa and the Indian
Ocean. As technology increased over this time period, trade became easier and thus it occurred more
often and over greater distances. Another reason why trade became more widespread was the
expansion of empires. When empires were compacted, the space between them was large and nomadic
societies presented more of a threat in the distance between them. In China, the expansion in the Sui,
Tang, and Song dynasties gave China a wider reach and thus a farther extension of trade to regions in
the west. The same is true in Africa, when kingdoms like Ethiopia and Ghana expanded, they became
closer to the societies in North Africa and the Mediterranean and increased trade in this way. Whether
it was by the increase in technology, or the growth of societies to develop safer and more protected
trade routes, the trade networks in this period undoubtedly became more widespread because of these
factors. Another important inconsistency in this period was the irregularity of trade levels from
specific regions. While trade was increasing in China because of technological advancement and
expansion, it was decreasing in Europe in the centuries after 300 CE because they were recovering
from the fall of the Roman Empire. This created a scenario in which the importer could no longer buy
the good

  • 2. Reflection About Psalm Exactly what does this psalm mean to you? Does it remind you of a funeral that you attended in the past? That would not be uncommon since in the 20th century it has been associated with and used at funerals both on film and in real life arenas. Yet, I implore you to take a closer look at it in order to find another way of looking at it. You might be surprised that it represents the very essence of what is going on in our society today. There are times when it is difficult to address some of the most horrific experiences and happenings occurring on a daily basis. I am asking you to take a moment and apply this to what God has offered us as represented in the 23rd Psalm. We all walk through the valley of the shadow of death. There are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The thoughts that ran through my mind as I told myself to remain calm in order to keep my brother calm were excessive. But I had a job to do. I had to keep my cool. As the paramedics arrived and I could hear the background of her high blood pressure number and them frantically working on her with life sustaining machinery I said a prayer to myself and continued to keep my cool. My mother came to based on the questions being asked to her and it was assumed that she had had a stroke. But she came to. At this point I proceeded to head to Newark, NJ where she was taken to ICU and placed on a respirator with a grim prognosis due to her medical history and extent of her stroke that could be seen thus far. But on the ride down, I could not help remembering that this was the woman who taught me psalm 23. I remembered the words verbatim to it. I started pondering the meaning behind the words and exactly what it may represent. I recognized the trouble as being the fear of death at this point and walking through the valley of the shadow of death. But where was the grace? I knew I needed to find the grace no matter what the outcome of my mother s situation. I needed to find the grace. The grace in the psalm is witnessed in the fourth verse. I will fear no evil, for thou art with me. How many times have you gone through a tough situation and realized that God was with you? God may not have jumped up and down in front of you or dropped a bucket of water on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. The Political Science Of Voters And Their Knowledge There is still a debate within the political science community about voters and their knowledge. Manand argues that voters are not dumb but rather, they are just not smart when it comes to politics. Ambramowitz believes that low voter turnout is okay because the people who are voting are the ones who actually understand and know politics. Key believes that independent voters not knowing or understanding politics is okay because voters as a whole group will inevitable pick the correct candidate. Caplan disagrees. The median voter wants protection. Protection makes the median voter worse off. But the median voter does not want to be worse off (Caplan 142). Caplan believes that voters do not simply not know or understand things but rather they intentionally pick the wrong or incorrect answer. Caplan believes this is because in the political arena, unlike the rest of American society, there is no real repercussions for choosing wrong. A possible example of this is Americans choosing to believe that a terrorist attack is more fearful, and probable, than a mass shooting. According to a survey taken by Gallup conducted between December 11th and 12th of this past year, 47% of Americans were worried about an attack orchestrated by the Islamic State, compared to only 38% of Americans who were worried about a mass shooting. The 9% difference between these two possible events contrasts with the number of mass shootings in the United States in 2015 and the number of terrorist ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Environmental And Environmental Challenges In The... The aquaculture industry has been plagued issues such as water pollution, fish disease outbreaks, destruction of coastal habitat and escapes that have tarnished its reputation and stimulated significant backlash against the industry. In response, the industry turned to placing marine farming systems miles offshore, in deeper waters with large currents to reduce the environmental risks associated with conventional aquaculture. Studies have shown when cited properly with adequate flushing rates, offshore aquaculture operations left a neutral nutrient impact on the water column and had diminished water and benthic pollution. By producing fish in less polluted marine environments, offshore operations can improve the quality of the product, improve market access, and increase profit. However, offshore aquaculture still faces a number of sustainability challenges that jeopardizes the ecological and economical integrity of the sector.  Fish Escapes Although offshore systems are designed to prevent any escape events, it cannot be guaranteed that escape will never occur as the sector expands to commercial and industrial scales, even with the risk of massive escape events caused by extreme weather events are mitigated as submersible cages are able to withstand and avoid storms. Escapes can occur from human error during cage maintenance and harvesting, from collision of ships, and vandalism. Escaped fish can cause potential harm to the marine ecosystem and native species by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On each question, one contestant will have a certain amount of time to clip the wires that lead to the correct answers on each bomb. Each teammate must answer at least one question in the game. Successfully diffusing a bomb adds the money at stake for the question to the team bank. If a contestant clips a wire which leads to an incorrect answer or if time expires, the bomb explodes, sliming the contestant with a mystery substance (maple syrup, pesto, tomato sauce, etc.), and eliminates them from the game without adding any money to the team bank. Here s how the game is structured for each bomb: #1: $5,000; 30 seconds to get 3 right answers (4 possible answers) #2: $10,000; 30 seconds to get 3 right answers (4 possible answers) #3: $15,000; ... There is more to this canyon though than the rocks, as it is still active as a forever changing landform, due to the power of running water. The Colorado River has carved out the Grand Canyon in just the last nine million years. In fact, the river itself carries about half a million tons of sediment through the Grand Canyon each and every day. There are a number of different river types that will be talked about, and how exactly they have effected their environment and made changes in the landscapes. Valleys were once thought to have formed independently as water flowed down a channel within the area of the valley. In this book if you disobey the big brother you will get tortured or some kind of punishment. With any government is it possible for them to control the minds of citizens to believe that there is no law of gravity or other scientific facts. The government can do this by brainwashing the people by telling them over and over what they want them to believe and start taking away any information they want them too. Many people looked at me like I was crazy, when I said I had never watched Titanic , and wanted to finally watch it, and see if I actually would like, so I gave it a chance. Coconut can be served as food and can be produced to various products and by products. Some food examples are copra, coconut oil, coconut milk, latik, desiccated coconut, coconut flour, etc. As compared to other agricultural crops, coconut provides more products and by products since all of its parts starting from the tree itself to the fruits has its uses. Hence, many people especially in Southeast Asia, Pacific region, Africa and some countries in Latin America, considered coconut as a significant crop in agriculture and industries (The Coconut Industry, n.d.). Since supply of coconut is very essential to many countries, it is essential to monitor its production. The production per land area can be quantified through crop yield. Crop yield is used to determine the efficiency of food production. Basically, it is the amount of produced crop per area of land. The biotic factors of an ecosystem are the living organisms, while the abiotic factors of an ecosystem are the temperature, climate, sun, and the weather. The ecosystem being researched is the Great Barrier Reef. The Great Barrier Reef is located right off of Australia. The Great Barrier Reef has around 400 types of coral and 1,500 species of fish. It has more than 3000 different reef systems. The Great Barrier Reef is one of the natural wonders of the world, and for good reason. On the Great Barrier Reef lives the Whitetip Reef Shark, Triaenodon Obesus, prefers to eat crabs and octopi, as well as other animals of the sea. The scientific name for the octopus is Octopoda. The relationship between the Whitetip and the octopus is an example of predation. Predation is the preying of one animal on other animals. The species of octopi are usually mostly carnivores, although some are omnivores. The Whitetip Reef Shark species is also a carnivorous species. Another organism that lives on the reef is the sea cucumber. The sea cucumber, or Holothuroidea, is a decomposer that lives on the reef floor and eats animal wastes as it crawls along. A threat to the reef, specifically the coral, is the Acanthaster planci, otherwise known as the crown of thorns starfish. This starfish is a predator to the coral because it eats the live ... To what extent is this market a result of global structural conditions? In recent years, due to the threat it poses to human security, human trafficking has been identified as one of the major and fast growing transnational problems. It is also perceived as a form of modern slavery and one of the greatest human rights challenges of our times. Therefore, tackling human trafficking is highly prioritized in many countries (European Commission, 2009). In the last 20 years the occurrence of human trafficking has dramatically increased, and trade in human beings has become one large part of the illicit global economy. Many criminals see this type of transnational crime as a low risk high reward crime, and this may be one of the reasons why they show a preference for it (Lee, 2007). The United Nations Protocol to Prevent, Suppress, and Punish Trafficking in Persons, also known as the Palermo Protocol, adopted in 2000 defines human trafficking as: The recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by means of threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation. • 16. Animals Of All Kinds Have Been Known For Their Positive... Animals of all kinds have been known for their positive impact on humans. Animal assisted Therapy (AAT) was first incorporated into the mental health institutions in the late eighteenth century to help increase socializations among the patients. As of today, a number of AAT programs have mainly targeted populations of patients with PTSD or those who have experienced trauma. PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) is classified as an anxiety disorder characterized by the common symptoms avoidance, intrusion, alterations in mood and cognition, and alterations in arousal and reactivity (O Haire, M.E,. Guerin, N.A., Kirkham, A.C., 2015). The presence of an animal is thought to encourage a safe and open environment, elicit positive emotion and warmth, increase socializations, and increase the release of oxytocin, which aids in the relaxation process. Perhaps that s why PTSD or trauma patients respond so well when AAT is included in treatment. AAT is not a therapy used alone, but rather coupled with other treatment to enhance the therapy process. (Dietz, T. J., Davis., Pennings, J. 2012). PICO Statement My PICO statement is in patients with PTSD or traumatic experiences, what is the effect of animal assisted therapy compared to no animal assisted therapy on decreasing traumatic symptoms? Therapy is the type of PICO question. Based on my PICO statement the best type of evidence to use for this particular question would be randomized or non randomized controlled trials. ... All of this will be explained as you read along in this paper. The conflict between superpowers for control of the continent began the Seven Years War. Some put the beginning of the Seven Years War in 1754, but it actually occurred from 1756 to 1763. In the Seven Years War, France and Great Britain struggled to control eastern North America (Davidson, J., 2006) The area between the Mississippi River and the Appalachian mountain range was contested as both nations claimed it. When the British won the Seven Years War, their colonial holdings doubled in size and they gained control of North America. Conflicts over trading rights and the control of the Ohio country was the primary cause of the French and Indian War (Davidson, J., 2006). British control of North American and the Seven Years War led to many problems as the British struggled to maintain their supremacy. The French came out behind in each of these struggles. • 18. Disc Brakes Are The Finest Disc Brakes are the Finest Brakes have been around for a few years, and only a couple different types of brakes can be manufactured. The two classifications of brakes are disc brakes and drum brakes. Drum brakes are an older type of brake that uses springs and levers to apply brake pads to the wheels. Disc brakes are a newer type of brake that uses a piston and an O ring to apply pressure to the brake pads. Which in turn creates friction to a rotor that is bolted to the wheel, whereas drum brakes only apply pressure to the wheel (Stockel, Auto Service 714). These brakes have been used in many different vehicles as well as used in trailers and motorcycles. Disc brakes are seen in most cars today throughout the world; though they did not start out as the best brake when they were first engineered, disc brakes are now the best leading brakes out there because of the quality and performance level that was engineered into this brake. Before there were any disc brakes, cars first had drum brakes that were the first engineered brakes to be operational. Anyone who remembers driving passenger cars with four wheel drum brakes, no doubt remembers their scary tendency to quit working when wet, or after repeated, hard stops (Richards). Drum brakes have been around for a very long time, so manufactures have caught most of the problems with drum brakes. This creating trust between the customers and their brakes on their cars. The residential appraiser is taught how to measure a home, examine it for positive and negative features, take photos, study the neighborhood, seek out comparable sales and listings, and create a report that solves a valuation problem. All of these things primarily involve the technical side of the work. But what about the bigger picture? What we do has a profound effect upon our local markets, communities, and the nation as a whole. We are an important participant in all of these things. You can see it in everyday practice. But if you still are not sure, think about some things that will happen if you do the wrong thing. Being listed in MLS, if that home does end up closing at the inflated price, it will show up as a closed sale in MLS. When brokers and agents conduct a competitive market analysis of another similar home they want to list, the inflated price of the property you over appraised will enter into their research and influence the list price the agent recommends to their seller. I have seen situations where just one inflated sale caused every new listing in a neighborhood to be priced at the same level. The inflated sale can cause a cascade effect. Now every home is overpriced because of one inflated sale. The result is buyers faced with less affordability and/or sellers attempting to sell their homes at asking prices that are not realistic. Buyers, sellers, agents and even lenders and title companies out there can suffer as a result of this. All because you did not do your duty and failed to consider the bigger picture. The appraiser, whether he or she realizes it or not, often acts as a traffic cop. The mere presence of a policeman on a busy road will cause most sensible drivers to pay greater attention to the rules of the road. But simple visibility alone is not enough. Essay on Proposed Revisions to the Army Tattoo Policy Although tattoos represent a variety of things in a person s life, they don t necessarily dictate how well a person is able to perform their job. For the last few months, there has been an ongoing debate about troops in the Army that have tattoos, and as a result their careers have been placed on the line. With this upcoming change, it has been specifically said that troops cannot have tattoos that extend below their knees and above their elbows and ones that reach above their neckline. Sgt. Maj. Raymond Chandler argues that tattoos cannot be racist, extremist, or sexist. If the tattoo violates that then they will have to get it removed (Freedberg). At the time the Army gained a large number of troops, but what they failed to realize was that they enlisted more troops than they needed. This is when the proposed revision to the grooming policy came up for discussion. With the new revisions tattoos won t be the only thing up for discussion; hair, makeup, and piercings will be too (Dallet). In a recent article there was a discussion about an off duty troop who was unshaven, and had on torn clothes who had a piercing. While he was out and about on the military base, he was seen by a few Airmen and who quickly labeled the Army as The Ghetto Service . This assumption gave the impression that the Army let anyone who wanted to enlist in. This relates back to the army tattoo policy, because I feel that the Army is placing those that have tattoos in the same category as those Airmen. Chandler took that situation as an insult and this is when he decided that it was time to fix this. At this time the troops have the First Amendment to back them on this issue at hand. The amendment gives them the right to express their freedom of speech. As I previously stated there wasn t a specific way that your speech had to be expressed. So it all boils down to the question if the army is discriminating against their troops, or they just won t deal with tattoos. The term self care is a concept from Orem s self care deficit theory. The purpose of this concept analysis is to clarify the concept and determine how it is used in the nursing practice, particularly with rehabilitation patients. We will further explore this concept with literature reviews, the possible uses of this concept, its attributes, model and alternative cases, antecedents and consequences, and finally empirical referents. Aim of Analysis The aim of this concept analysis is to clearly define the concept of self care in relation to rehabilitation patients. The characteristics of self care will be further explored and explained, as well as its importance to nursing practice. By understanding the concept better, nurses will be able to be more involved in the patient s care and increase the rate of their recovery (Arman Hok, 2015). Literature Review According to Hashemi et al. (2013), promoting self care with patients gives them more control over their lives leading to an improved quality of life. The article emphasized the importance of empowering patients to perform activities independently. • 22. Geology Of The Oaks Belt Geology of the Oaks Belt The Oaks Belt is composed of mafic to felsic volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks, clastic sedimentary rocks, iron formation and several generations of intrusive rocks. Mafic volcanic rocks constitute the bulk of the stratigraphy in the OB and occur as both pillowed basalts and massive flows. They are aphanitic to fine grained and dark green to black (Frey and Venzke, 1991). Mafic volcaniclastic rocks are more common lower in stratigraphy. Intermediate volcanic rocks occur almost exclusively as tuffs, are feldspar phyric and contain 20 30% mica and amphibole. Felsic volcaniclastic rocks vary from rhyolites to dacites and occur mainly near the stratigraphic top of the volcanic pile where they directly underlie massive sulfide and iron formation deposits. These highly siliceous rocks are mica and amphibole poor, and occur as both quartzphyric fragments and tuffs. Felsic agglomerate rocks transition from dacite to rhyolite down stratigraphy (Frey and Venzke, 1991). Clastic rocks are most common in the central part of the study area and display graded bedding as well as slumping and soft sediment deformation (Frey and Venzke, 1991).Chemical sedimentary rocks in the OB include iron formation and chert. The tendency of massive sulfide deposits to occur in brecciated piles of tuff fragments with associated footwall alteration indicates they are not seawater precipitates. Chert is typically sulfidic, with pyrite and pyrrhotite as the main sulfide minerals. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Foraging and vigilant behaviors are important because of the fact that these animals are smaller and are likely to be attacked by predators. When they are in a foraging behavior it can be difficult to be aware of other mammals that are lurking around, thus they also involve themselves in vigilant behaviors to determine if there is a threat or not. Gold has been rumoured that it was found in Australian as early as 1814, however, the first gold fields did not appear until thirty years later. Gold was found in Australia many decades before the Goldrush. The first discovery of gold was actually in New South Wales, in May 1851 by Edward Hargreaves. In fact, this was a tentative start to the Goldrush. Gold was commonly found only in New South Wales and Victoria in the days. How was gold mined? (Now and then) Well, long time ago it actually wasn t mined, it was panned. You had to search and find the right river to find gold. Then you pick a spot along the river or stream with a slow current and a spot that has large rocks or a fallen tree along the water s edge. Than you pick up your pan (metal in the day). Then dirt and gravel in scooped into the pan and then submerged into the water. The dirt and gravel will float, and because gold is heavier and denser it will say in the pan. This process uses the density of gold and the force of gravity to separate gold particles from other sedimentary deposits. Another common way in the day was sluicing. The water washes down fine gravel containing gold so that it can be directed into sluice boxes and recovered using gravity separation (where the heavy gold is trapped at the bottom and the lighter sands are washed away). Trade Networks Change Over Time Essay In 300 CE the trade routes of Africa and Eurasia were increasing in complexity, as they became major arteries for the exchange of goods and ideas over long distances. The trade networks of these regions consistently enabled the spread of religious ideas far beyond their original homelands. Networks like the Trans Saharan, Indian Ocean, and Silk Road systems always brought wealth to foreign products that enabled local producers to specialize in items best suited to their regions. The invention of the Dhow and Lateen sails made sea trade much easier and faster, and these technologies eventually dominated sea trade from the Mediterranean to East Africa and the Indian Ocean. As technology increased over this time period, trade became easier and thus it occurred more often and over greater distances. Another reason why trade became more widespread was the expansion of empires. When empires were compacted, the space between them was large and nomadic societies presented more of a threat in the distance between them. In China, the expansion in the Sui, Tang, and Song dynasties gave China a wider reach and thus a farther extension of trade to regions in the west. The same is true in Africa, when kingdoms like Ethiopia and Ghana expanded, they became closer to the societies in North Africa and the Mediterranean and increased trade in this way. Whether it was by the increase in technology, or the growth of societies to develop safer and more protected trade routes, the trade networks in this period undoubtedly became more widespread because of these factors. Another important inconsistency in this period was the irregularity of trade levels from specific regions.
