VOLUNTEER
• Started and organized a charity event for Urban Renewal Corporation in Newark. Collected purses,
toiletries, money, shoes, and coats, then hosted a group of volunteers to pack the purses (for women)
and make blessing bags (for men) and donated 200 of these to URC for distribution to the homeless in
their shelters. Also secured a donation of 300 toothbrushes and toothpaste from Colgate-Palmolive for
the organization. (2016)
• Successfully started a Girl Scout troop where I held the leader position for three years. Planned and
executed activities for a troop of twelve girls on a bi-weekly basis. Attended monthly service unit
meetings, maintained all money, submitted registrations and filed yearly financial reports. Also
communicated to the parents of the girls, all events going on in our area.
• Children’s Chapel Teacher at Christ Episcopal Church in Acworth, GA
• PTA member at Kennesaw Elementary School. Box-Top ad Label organizer. Collected, bundled,
submitted, and shipped box tops and labels for a school of 900 children.
• President of Kennesaw Elementary School Silent Auction. Solicited donations from more than 300
companies seeking donations to raise money for the school. Also responsible for assigning themes for
30+ classrooms for their silent donation baskets.
• Room mother for 4 years. Organized all class parties and field trips.
• Classroom copy volunteer (2005-2006) where once a week I went to the school and ran copies,
laminated, cut, etc. for my daughter’s teacher.
• Participant (Walk-a-thon) and fund raiser for Comfort Zone Camp and The Paul Jackson Foundation.
• Successfully co-chaired my high school 30th
reunion for 250 people.
