THE WALL
The first thing that you see in this trailer is a man
sitting alone, however the view is through the scope
of a gun. Instantly this would make an audience think
that it could be an action film as this is usually a prop
that would be used in action film. The man that is
sitting down is being watched by two men, who are
dressed in camouflage. It is set in a very isolated area,
in a desert. This instantly brings the idea of war to
mind, as this is the type of place a war is usually set in.
When one of the men gets up you can clearly see that
they are dressed to be hidden.
One of the men heads down to where life appears to be, as where they have been
located has been very silent and they were clearly in hiding. He is reporting back to
the other man, who is again watching through the scope of his gun. The guy that has
gone down to investigate tells the other one "something's not right" and then
suddenly gets hit in the back causing him to drop to his knees. The screen blacks out
and then we see the other man who was watching from a far frantically sprinting
towards his friend. Shots begin to get fired at the other man causing him to end up on
the floor. I think for a trailer this is very dramatic which a lot of people would like, it is
clearly representing what the rest of the film is going to be like.
The less injured man makes a run for it, leaping
over a small wall as he does. This makes us link
everything back to the title, as the name of the
film is called "the wall", is this the wall that the
film is named after? All questions that we would
have to wait and see to find out the answers
too.
Suddenly, as the man who is sitting behind the
wall is trying to receive help for his friend by
talking through his ear piece, he suddenly
realises that the voice responding to him his not
an American voice and that they have an accent.
Little did he know but it had clearly been
hijacked, meaning that whoever it was had
heard everything that the man had been saying,
asking for his exact location. The voice then tells
the man he better "start talking".
The voice is someone who is watching the man
sitting behind the wall so every time an action is
made the voice will comment on it. Then some
text comes up and says "this is not war" "it's a
game" . The tension from this then builds up
making the audience wonder what is going to
happen next again making them want to watch
the film.
