3. I wish to convey my warmest felicitations to the second batch of Filipino graduates of the Teacher’s Certificate for Professionalism
(TCP) program conducted by International Technology Management Corp. Philippines (Intem) and Bago City College in Vientiane,
Lao PDR from 2016 to 2017.
The program, which is on its second year, is a testament to the desire of the Filipinos to improve their skill sets in the field
of education, in order to be better qualified and equipped to meet the demands of the education and labor sectors in Laos. Your
graduation from the program attests not only to your capability to work in the education sector, but also serves as proof of your
dedication to your studies and to the teaching profession, since the program demands considerable time and effort, especially for
those who are employed and those who have families in Vientiane.
I hope that you would able to incorporate what you have learned in the program and help shape the futures of the upcoming
leaders of this country. I also wish to express my hopes that you, the new graduates, will continue to set and raise the standards for
aspiring teachers who also wish to undergo training under the TCP program. I wish to express my appreciation for Dr. Bernadette
Gonzales, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Intem Philippines, for her diligence, patience, and passion in continuing the TCP program in
Laos.
Your initiative not only contributes to professionalizing teachers in Laos, but also carries a positive impact on the socio-
economic development of Laos as the Lao government strives to improve its education sector and
professionalize its teachers and education administrators. I believe that your enduring commitment
to the development of the Lao education sector, as you work hand in hand with officials from the Lao
Ministry of Education and Sports, has contributed to the renewed respect for Filipino teachers, and
Filipinos in general who are residing in the country. Once again, my sincerest congratulations to
the new TCP graduates, and my best wishes for Dr. Bernadette Gonzales, Intem Corporation,
and Bago City College.
Mabuhay po tayong lahat!
The passing time of hard work, perseverance and dedication in the academe
has reached its pinnacle, and today you are conferred with the most honorable
tag as graduates.
You have worked long and hard and you deserve the honor being conferred to
you today. As you continue to move forward to face challenges in charting your
career, let the sense of patriotism and gratitude be your virtues wherever fate
brings you.
Remember too, that as you keep climbing the ladder of success, the challenge
becomes more difficult and you need to remain strong, dedicated and commit-
ted into becoming great teachers of your time.
May you’ll always demonstrate professionalism and excellence in the endeavors
that you are about to undertake, so you can realize your dream of a better life.
Congratulations, and I will always pray for your success in all your under-
takings.

As teachers, we are always challenged to change the world through education.
Quite ambitious some may say, but this is actually our mission when we accept the job of a teacher. True, we will touch
lives but some may not realize it that we are transforming the world through the many innovations that education brings
to the students. The practice of innovation that has marked the policy of today’s Bago City College Administration is as
vibrant as ever. We are diverse in our outlook and our approach, beholden not to any ideology but to a fierce desire to dis-
cover and help implement what work. And what works will just naturally transform
our world to be a better place to live in. Educators cannot stand on the guidelines
or be concerned only with their personal advancement. The 2017 graduating class
knows that Bago City College have purposefully prepared each of you to be coura-
geous leaders, thoughtful collaborators, passionate scholars and educators commit-
ted to transforming others.
So, go now and help our country progress through innovations toward transforma-
tions. Thank you for choosing Bago City College to be a vehicle of your life’s journey.
Thank you for respecting and embracing what we offered you. Stay with us into the
future. May you become all that you have dreamt you can be. Be assured, in return,
that we will travel beside you and will welcome you back on many and varied re-
turns. Together, we will learn to change the world.
Again, thank you for your support.
According to William Henry “Bill” Cosby, Jr., “In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear
of failure”.
Dear graduates, this moment is a manifestation that you have conquered fear despite of uncertainties and hardships you
have encountered in your four years stay in the department. You indeed have faced your fear bravely and even hurdled it
successfully. This is not only a celebration of success but rather a significant memento of recognizing everyone’s effort for
surviving from the difficult and challenging years of subsequent trials in order to be-
come an affluent individual capable of crafting skills using various innovations to create
new directions in teaching profession through education.
You have successfully won the battle of illiteracy from which it justifies the end of your
desire for success and this proves worth that; “In order to succeed, your desire for suc-
cess should be greater than your fear of failure”. Along with this triumphant struggle,
you may as well continue to live by this code, that above all else, “excellence is a virtue”.
Indeed, you have given us enough reason to uphold and preserve the fine tapestries of
true BCCian spirit and character to motivate further the new comers towards the great-
er heights of academic excellence. Now that you will start to begin the journey outside
the threshold of your Alma Mater, just continue to strive and be deserving to be called
as son and daughter of your humble institution by giving her pride, honor and sense
of value. Always remember this: “To the world, you may be just a teacher but to your
students, you are a HERO”. Keep your head-on and set yourself as an inspiration and
blessings to guide others. Once again, congratulation graduates!

“There are three things to remember when teaching: know your stuff; know
whom you are stuffing; and then stuff them elegantly.” ~ Lola May
21st century learning can only be realized and achieved through a strong work force of dedicated, committed and creative
professional teachers. By now, you have increased appreciation of how to best configure your instructional techniques for
improved impacts on your learners’ cognitive, affective and psychomotor development. This involves mastery of both con-
tent and pedagogy as well as available technologies to better engage learners. For these, we trust you have gained the knowl-
edge, attitude, skills and habits of lifelong learning so that you may be able to share these effectively with your students and
fellow teachers.
In these times of rapid change, we cannot over emphasize the need for fast adaptation. Thus, “learning to be” becomes
more and more important than “learning about” and it follows, “learning how to learn”
becomes the best gift that we can give to our learners. Preparing students for their future
world of work is undoubtedly the job of the teacher. While no one can specifically predict
the future, teachers can help develop the critical thinking skills and learning attitudes of
students to enable them to solve future problems.
Investing on your education to enable you to better educate others is a noble deed, know-
ing that knowledge and skills gained are investments not only for your own future but for
the coming generation as well.
Congratulations graduates, keep on learning…for life.
