The document contains lyrics to four Christmas carols: "How Great Our Joy", "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day", "Joy to the World", and an untitled carol about the birth of Jesus. The carols celebrate the birth of Jesus and bring joy and hope to the world through his coming. They reference the angels' message to the shepherds, Jesus lying in the manger, and the promise of peace and redemption through God's son.
We’re Wrestling Who? - Ephesians 6:10-13David Turner
Our battles are not against flesh and blood. Our battles are against Principalities and Powers. These adversaries are much bigger than us and cannot be defeated by our own strength. In Ephesians 6:10-13 Paul identifies who we are really wrestling with and follows up with advice on how to compete to gain victory. For this and other PowerPoint Presentations go to www.Bibleguy.org.
Take up the helmet of salvation eph 6 17aDavid Turner
The head is the location of our thoughts and memories. We must protect our minds by putting on the helmet of salvation. The mind cannot be transformed without Christ becoming the center of our thoughts. The transformation saves us from the vane belief systems and ethical impure thoughts of the world. Put on Christ and put on the helmet of salvation. Free PowerPoint Download at http://bibleguy.org/sermon-resources/powerpoints/886/06/17/

It's hard for most people to grasp the concept of being a slave. Most would deny that they are servants. But the reality is that we are all slaves/servants to something. If one is honest with himself He'll admit that he is in bondage to his job, to a location where he lives, to a bad marriage, to a sick and dying body and most of all to sin. Paul speaks in the context to the Roman empire where the majority of his listeners are servants. You may not be this kind of a servant, but the principles are still applicable to employees, students and even children. Jesus did not come to rule but to serve. We are to do the same.
Put On Righteousness - Ephesians 6:14bDavid Turner
We cannot clothe ourselves in our personal righteousness, because any righteousness we have in ourselves falls short of God's standard of righteousness. Instead, we must shield our hearts with the righteousness of Christ. We are declared righteous because of his righteousness, not because of anything in ourselves. Girt Your Loins In Truth - Ephesians 6:14aDavid Turner
Paul tells the Ephesian Christians to girt their loans in truth. One's loins is the center of one being. It is the place stability. In a world which runs on the current of popular opinion it's often difficult to discern truth. Is is found in science, or philosophy, or politicians or power. Real truth is found in Jesus Christ who proclaimed, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father accept through me." This is the truth that Paul encourages the Ephesians gird their loins with. It's the same truth we ought to hold tight to our core. Wrestling In A Dark World John 15:18-16:4 and Ephesians 6:12-13David Turner
As believers in Jesus Christ we are fighting against the Principalities and Powers of this world. We cannot fight with the methods of the world. We must wrestle in the manner in which Christ wrestled, in the power of the Spirit.
Before Christ came into our lives, we were children of darkness. But even as God is light, and Christ is the light of the world, so also are we are children of light. As such, we ought to walk in the light and behave in a manner consistent with our calling. Wake up oh Christian and let your light shine.
Can you remember the joy of first receiving Christ? Why is it, that as we grow in Christ we sometimes know more, but experience the joy less. It's choice. In any relationship it requires a degree of effort to keep the joy in the relationship. Lord, Please return the joy to us.

This is a study of Jesus being set forth as a propitiation. It is a deep and profound subject of theology, but some preachers make it easier to understand.
Jesus Christ never comes so near us as in
the darkness. Have faith in Him; be sure
that He is working for the best, sure that the
more we suffer the closer we are to the great
suffering heart of God. The time will come
\rhen we shall see, as now in faith we trust,
that every pain we have borne was working
out the redemption of the race ; when we shall
smile at the remembrance of all our trouble,
as we now smile at the griefs which seemed so
big to us in childhood.
Although terrible unpredictable happenings are occurring worldwide and there is much dark news, yet in light of God's prophecies' fulfillment, the time of His consummation is undoubtedly close.

Nineveh repented, God relented but Jonah rejected God's mercy. Jonah ran from God and then tried to run God. God is holy and just, but He is also voraciously merciful.
Jonah's lack of fear of the Lord caused him to veer out of God's will. But the desperation of drowning brought clarity to his mind and he once again followed God.
Jonah thought he knew the Lord. He thought he feared the Lord, but discovered a true fear and respect for God. He lacked wisdom, obedience and understanding. But by the end of Jonah 1 found a new respect and a renewed interest in obeying God.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
The Book of Joshua is the sixth book in the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament, and is the first book of the Deuteronomistic history, the story of Israel from the conquest of Canaan to the Babylonian exile.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

2. Carol #127 – Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne
Thou didst leave Thy throne and Thy kingly crown
When Thou camest to earth for me;
But in Bethlehem’s home
was there found no room
For Thy holy nativity.
O come to my heart, Lord Jesus --
There is room in my heart for Thee!
3. Carol #127 – Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne
Thou camest, O Lord, with the living word
That should set Thy people free;
But with mocking scorn and with crown of thorn
They bore Thee to Calvary.
O come to my heart, Lord Jesus --
There is room in my heart for Thee!
4. Carol #127 – Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne
When the heav’ns shall ring and the angels sing
At Thy coming to victory,
Let Thy voice call me home, saying,
“Yet there is room --
There is room at My side for thee.”
My heart shall rejoice, Lord, Jesus,
When Thou comest and callest for me!
5. Carol #137 – What Child is This?
What Child is this, who, laid to rest,
On Mary’s lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
6. Carol #137 – What Child is This?
Why lies He in such mean estate
Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christian, fear; for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
7. Carol #137 – What Child is This?
So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh,
Come, peasant, king, to own Him;
The King of kings salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
8. Carol #124 – Come Thou Long Expected Jesus
Come, Thou long-expected Jesus,
Born to set Thy people free;
From our fears and sins release us;
Let us find our rest in Thee.
Israel’s strength and consolation,
Hope of all the earth Thou art;
Dear Desire of ev’ry nation,
Joy of ev’ry longing heart.
9. Carol #124 – Come Thou Long Expected Jesus
Born Thy people to deliver,
Born a Child, and yet a King,
Born to reign in us forever,
Now Thy gracious kingdom bring.
By Thine own eternal Spirit
Rule in all our hearts alone;
By Thine all-sufficient merit,
Raise us to Thy glorious throne.

11. WORSHIP LEADER
The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to
serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.
MEN
But now a righteousness from God, apart from
law, has been made known, to which the Law and
the Prophets testify.
EVERYONE
The righteousness from God comes through faith
in Jesus Christ to all who believe.
12. EVERYONE
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God, and are justified freely by His grace through
the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
WORSHIP LEADER
God presented Him as a sacrifice of atonement,
through faith in His blood. He did this to
demonstrate His justice, because in His
forbearance He had left the sins committed
beforehand unpunished.
13. WOMEN
He did it to demonstrate His justice at the present
time, so as to be just and the one who justifies
those who have faith in Jesus.
EVERYONE
In Him we have redemption through His blood,
the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the
riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us with
all wisdom and understanding.
14. WORSHIP LEADER
For this reason Christ is the mediator of a New
Covenant, that those who are called may receive
the promised eternal inheritance, now that He has
died as a ransom to set them free from the sins
committed under the First Covenant.
MEN
For you know that it was not with perishable
things such as silver or gold that you were
redeemed from the empty way of life
handed down to you from your forefathers,
15. EVERYONE
But with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb
without blemish or defect.
WORSHIP LEADER
Through Him you believe in God, who raised Him
from the dead and glorified Him, and so your faith
and hope are in God.
EVERYONE
MY FAITH AND HOPE ARE IN GOD!

to be treated".
• Buddhism: From the Udana-Varga 5:18- "Hurt not
others with that which pains yourself."
• Judaism: from the Old Testament, Leviticus
19:18- "Thou shalt Love thy neighbor as thyself."

not do unto others.“
18. The Golden Rule – The Law of Religion
• Confucianism: From the Analects 15:23- "What
you do not want done to yourself, do not do to
others."
• Native American Spirituality: "All things are our
relatives; what we do to everything, we do to
ourselves. All is really One." Black Elk
• Islam: The Prophet said, "None of you will have
faith till he wishes for his brother what he likes
for himself." Bukhari 1.2 12
19. The Golden Rule – The Law of Religion
• Brahmanism: "This is the sum of duty: Do
naught unto others which would cause you
pain if done to you". Mahabharata, 5:1517
• Ancient Egyptian: "Do for one who may do for
you, that you may cause him thus to do." The
Tale of the Eloquent Peasant
• Humanism: "Don't do things you wouldn't
want to have done to you” British Humanist
Society.
20. The Golden Rule – The Law of Religion
• Epictetus: "What you would avoid suffering
yourself, seek not to impose on others." (circa
100 CE)
• Plato: "May I do to others as I would that they
should do unto me." (Greece ; 4th century BCE)
• Socrates: "Do not do to others that which would
anger you if others did it to you." ( Greece ; 5th
century BCE)
• Seneca: "Treat your inferiors as you would be
treated by your superiors," Epistle 47:11 ( Rome ;
1st century CE)
21. The Golden Rule – The Law of Religion
• Roman Pagan Religion: "The law imprinted on
the hearts of all men is to love the members of
society as themselves."
• Didn’t Jesus Say…
“Do unto others as you would have them do unto
you.” (Matthew 7:12)
22. The Golden Rule – The Law of Religion
Romans 2:14
For when Gentiles, who do not have the law,
by nature do what the law requires, they are
a law to themselves, even though they do
not have the law. [15] They show that the
work of the law is written on their hearts,
while their conscience also bears witness,
and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even
excuse them [16] on that day when,
according to my gospel, God judges the
secrets of men by Christ Jesus.
23. The Golden Rule – The Law of Religion
We are Trapped by the law
We are Guilty under the law
We are Condemned under the law
We are Hopeless under the law
We will be Punished under the law
24.
25. Galatians 4:4
But when the fullness of time had come, God sent
forth his Son, born of woman, born under the
law, [5] to redeem those who were under the
law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.
[6] And because you are sons, God has sent the
Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba!
Father!” *7+ So you are no longer a slave, but a
son, and if a son, then an heir through God.
26. Paul claimed that God sent His Son into the
world to give 3 gifts
The Gift of Redemption
The Gift of Sonship
The Gift of His Spirit
27. “But when the fullness of time had come…”
Fullness of time: The timetable of God is complete
– Like a pregnant woman ready to give birth.
The people needed a Messiah more
than ever
The World was unified and speaking a
common language
The World was under the Pax Romana -
peace
28. “God sent …”
Sent: The action of God to send forth from
Himself His Son
Past Tense
An Intentional Act of God
An Act that Demonstrates God’s Love
29. “God sent forth His Son …”
Son: Refers to His character, relationship, and role
with God the Father
He contains the characteristics and
attributes of God
He has a unique and singular relationship
with God
He has a role of representing the mind,
character, and substance of God
30. “born of woman, born under the law …”
Born of a woman:
Jesus came in human form, to identify with our
weaknesses and to die our death
Born under the law:
Born with the same requirements so that he
could fulfill the requirements, tested, and
found true.
32. to redeem those who were under the law…
Redemption – to rescue from lost, to buy back, to
ransom, to loose or set free
To be redeemed is to be bought for a price and to
be delivered out of the authority of the law and
death. God paid Himself – He satisfied His justice.
The word reveals our own incapacity to satisfy
God’s justice with personal attempts to redeem
ourselves.
33. to redeem those who were under the law…
For even the Son of Man came not to be served
but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom
for many.”(Mark 10:45 ESV)
For there is one God, and there is one mediator
between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
[6] who gave himself as a ransom for all, which
is the testimony given at the proper time.
(1 Timothy 2:5-6 ESV)
34. to redeem those who were under the law…
…knowing that you were ransomed from the
futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not
with perishable things such as silver or gold,
[19] but with the precious blood of Christ, like
that of a lamb without blemish or spot.
(1 Peter 1:18-19 ESV)
35.
36. Carol #144 – How Great Our Joy
While by the sheep we watched at night,
Glad tidings brought an angel bright.
How great our joy! Great our joy!
Joy, joy, joy, Joy, joy, joy!
Praise we the Lord in heav’n on high!
Praise we the Lord in heav’n on high!
37. Carol #144 – How Great Our Joy
There shall the Child lie in a stall,
This Child who shall redeem us all.
How great our joy! Great our joy!
Joy, joy, joy, Joy, joy, joy!
Praise we the Lord in heav’n on high!
Praise we the Lord in heav’n on high!
38. Carol #144 – How Great Our Joy
This gift of God we’ll cherish well,
That ever joy our hearts shall fill.
How great our joy! Great our joy!
Joy, joy, joy, Joy, joy, joy!
Praise we the Lord in heav’n on high!
Praise we the Lord in heav’n on high!
39. Carol #144 – How Great Our Joy
How great our joy! Great our joy!
Joy, joy, joy, Joy, joy, joy!
Praise we the Lord in heav’n on high!
Praise we the Lord in heav’n on high!
40.
41. …to redeem those who were under the law, so
that we might receive adoption as sons… 7So you
are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then
an heir through God. (Galatians 4:5&7 ESV)
42. Free from the Chastisement of Rules
Adopted to Family
Inheritance of Son – with Rights &
Responsibilities
43. Carol #152 – I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day
I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth good will to men
I thought how as the day had come
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along the unbroken song
Of peace on earth good will to men
44. Carol #152 – I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day
And in despair I bowed my head
There is no peace on earth I said
For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth good will to men
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep
God is not dead nor doth He sleep
The wrong shall fail the right prevail
With peace on earth good will to men
45. Carol #152 – I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day
Till ringing singing on its way
The world revolved from night to day
A voice a chime a chant sublime
Of peace on earth good will to men
46. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit
of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”
[7] So you are no longer a slave, but a son,
and if a son, then an heir through God.
(Galatians 4:6-7 ESV)
47. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit
of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”
(Galatians 4:6 ESV)
This is the sweet kiss of God upon the son. The
child talks to and about the Father on a different
level than he did as a slave or a child.
The Spirit cries out to God for us and in us.
48. The first usage of the word ABBA Father were
uttered by Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane.
And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are
possible for you. Remove this cup from me.
Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
(Mark 14:36 ESV)
The Spirit of Christ could not bear the thought of
enduring sin. The sacrifice and ransom for sin was
great and it caused Christ to groan.
49. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to
fall back into fear, but you have received the
Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry,
“Abba! Father!” *16+ The Spirit himself bears
witness with our spirit that we are children of
God, [17] and if children, then heirs—heirs of
God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we
suffer with him in order that we may also be
glorified with him.(Romans 8:15-17 ESV)
50. Sealing work of the Spirit: Paul wrote in the letter
to the church at Ephesus that the Holy Spirit is the
seal or mark in our lives. The Spirit proves we are
God’s children
In him you also, when you heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation, and
believed in him, were sealed with the promised
Holy Spirit, [14] who is the guarantee of our
inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to
the praise of his glory. (Ephesians 1:13-14 ESV)
51. Carol #125 – Joy to the World
Joy to the world! the Lord is come;
Let earth receive her King;
Let ev’ry heart prepare Him room,
And heav’n and nature sing,
And heav’n and nature sing,
And heav’n, and heav’n and nature sing.
52. Carol #125 – Joy to the World
No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He come to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as the curse is found.
