The greater your knowledge base and
level of curiosity, the more ideas,
patterns, and combinations you can
achieve, which then correlates to
creating new and innovative products
and services.
Creativity is a function of
knowledge, curiosity,
imagination, and
evaluation.
Process of bringing to life something new; art of
conceiving something original.
• Simply the implementation of a new or
significantly improved
idea/product/service/process to ultimately
create value at large.
• To re-engineer; to re-create.
• No innovation without creativity.
• We tend to think of an innovation as a new
product but you can innovate with a new
process, method, business model,
partnership, route to market or marketing
method. Indeed every aspect of your
business operation is a candidate for
innovation.
• Incremental or radical.
INNOVATION: MAKING SIMPLE EVERYDAY LIVES EASIER TO LIVE
Innovators are empathizers
• Today’s businesses need empathy, inventiveness, and understanding to
create the competitive edge/advantage by adding value to their
services or product, hence differentiating their business from the
competition.
• From commodity to brand.
• Our quest to better lives, add value to humanity, make a change (however
seemingly small or otherwise) is the first step to being innovative

•Just like facebook, their VISION is of
making the world more open and
connected
•The most remarkable aspect of the company is that,
“It doesn’t even employ a marketer or PR person. Yet
like the world’s greatest brands, it’s created a strong
emotional connection with consumers. All of
WhatsApp’s growth has come from happy customers
encouraging their friends to try the service
•The desire of the founders was for people to
communicate without INTERFERENCE. They have
stayed CONSISTENT to their truest selves
•They learnt from their EXPERIENCE at yahoo
(Most users do not like advertisements
flashing while using an application ) and
leveraged on it
•They were LATE boomers
•They understood that NO MAN IS AN ISLAND
•They got rejected by Facebook & then
twitter, but NEVER GAVE UP their dream
TIME TO NOTICE THE ‘LITTLE’ THINGS
…ASK THE ANT
Connecting with our ‘inner child’
• Avoid the rush (stop being pre-occupied; enjoy the process)
• Pearls before Breakfast (missed beauty)
• Observe
• Failure isn’t an option
• Stay curious
• Let them play
• Create a growth mentality
• Be imaginative
Let Innovation begin (the 20%
that will change your game)!
• Hybridize/Integrate (Encourage new ideas, cultures, arts, paradigms
especially from unexpected sources). Tap into multiple intelligences
• Immerse (soak up)
• How do I help people achieve ‘Ease’ & convenience?
Can we find a better fun way to do it?
• Incubate (take a break from it)
• Experience (exposure, explore & experiment)
•Look ahead, not behind. The past is prologue but not
necessarily precedent.
•Look for improvements, not critiques. Encourage
collaboration toward common goals.
•Be flexible & open minded; Stress action over
calendar. Allow for unplanned opportunities.
• Foster respect for people and their talents.
•Learning is imperative, you must be a life long
learner
• Be ‘consumer-centric’ (Listen to your customers; its all about them!)
