The famous singer sings rock songs in the
concert.
Rock songs are sung by the famous singer in
the concert.

weekends.

Past Passive Voice
TO BE IN PAST + PAST PARTICIPLE VERB + BY+ SUBJECT
Examples:
• Shakespeare wrote Hamlet ( active voice )
• Hamlet was written by Shakespeare ( passive
voice)
• My father drew great pictures in the exhibition
• Great pictures were drawn by my father in the
exhibition.

 My grandparents sent me a different present for my

 The thieves stole some houses in the middle of the
night.

PRACTICE

  • 2. TO BE + PAST PARTICIPLE + BY + SUBJECT  Examples:  Mary writes very interesting books ( Active Voice)  Very interesting books are written by Mary (Passive Voice)
  • 3. MY PARENTS SELL LAST MODEL CARS IN THE MAIN AVENUE. LAST MODEL CARS ARE SOLD BY MY PARENTS IN THE MAIN AVENUE. The famous singer sings rock songs in the concert. Rock songs are sung by the famous singer in the concert.
  • 4. More examples. * The baby sees funny cartoons in the TV * My best friend cleans his bedroom every Saturday. • Students do interesting homework at school • My mom cooks delicious peruvian food on weekends. • The architects build a modern building in the avenue. • The girl reads romantic stories in her free time.
  • 5. Past Passive Voice TO BE IN PAST + PAST PARTICIPLE VERB + BY+ SUBJECT Examples: • Shakespeare wrote Hamlet ( active voice ) • Hamlet was written by Shakespeare ( passive voice) • My father drew great pictures in the exhibition • Great pictures were drawn by my father in the exhibition.
