Occupational therapists help people with disabilities overcome obstacles in daily living. They work in schools, hospitals, clinics and other settings to improve functional skills through activities and exercises. As part of a multidisciplinary team, occupational therapists evaluate clients, develop treatment plans, provide therapy, and coordinate care. In schools, they work with students both in and out of the classroom to improve skills like writing, feeding, social skills, and addressing issues like distractibility and low self-esteem.
