• In this lesson we are going to
learn about the sense of taste.
• Question: Do you know in which
organ the sense of taste is?
• Let´s see the following picture
The tongue is covered in small spots called taste buds. These taste buds identify
flavours and have nerves that send information to our brain.
As you can see in the picture, the tongue is divided in four flavours:
BITTER, SOUR, SALTY AND SWEET.
Questions: What different flavours do you know? Which are your favourite tastes?

5. - Did you know that the sense of taste is connected to the
sense of smell? Does food taste the same when we have
a cold and can´t breathe properly?
- In pairs draw a chart in your notebook and write some
examples.

• The skin is the largest organ in the body and is responsible for this
sense.
• Our skin is covered with hair and small pores that release sweat.
• There are also lots of nerves too that receive information from what
we touch and send it to the brain.

• The pupils will be blindfolded and will have to guess what the object is and
say what type of touch it has.
• How does it feel? Is it soft or hard? Is it smooth or rough? Is it cold? Is it
warm? Can you describe the object?
