Cronus And Rhea Research Paper
In the beginning, many Gods and Goddesses lived in Greece. Cronus and Rhea the royalty family,
were expecting their first child. Rhea went through many complications during the pregnancy that
Asclepius had to tell her that she could lose the baby if she didn t rest. Cronus couldn t believe
there was a possibility that he wouldn t be a father. Cronuswent to Tyche, God of good luck and
fortune. Cronus asked Tyche for good luck for Rheapregnancy for nothing bad to happen. Cronus
returned home and read the newspaper. The newspaper had an article about how Kratos was
starting a war. Cronus wasn t going to let that happen. He went up to Kratos and demanded him not
to start a war while Rhea s pregnancy. Kratos laughed and said that the only way... Show more

Cronus wanted his kid to live so badly that he decided to accept the condition. Cronus returned
back told Rhea and she was mad for a bit but then she accepted it because she wanted to be a
mother. Months later, Rhea was in labor and the baby was ready to be born. Cronus and Rhea
finally met their baby boy whose name was Zeus. Zeus knew he was special kid; he was different
compared to the kids around the town. Instead, of liking cars and action figures; Zeus liked rain
and thunder. On his 8th birthday Cronus gave him a lightning bolt. Cronus told Zeus that the
bolt was his power and he had to be responsible with it. Zeus loved it so much, he would show it
to everyone. Zeus wanted to go show his friends the bolt, so he went to find them. When he found
them he was showing it off and then his friend touched it and thunder started appearing. Zeus didn
t know what to do, so he ran to get his mother and tell her what occurred. Rhea ran to find Cronus
but Cronus couldn t stop it only Zeus could. Cronus told Zeus to concentrate to stop the storm.

Food Bank Use in Canada
Food Bank Use in Canada
According to Food Banks Canada, food bank usage has soared to 28% in the past three years, with
more than 850,000 Canadians making use of a food bank in a typical year (Ontario
Healthy Communities Coalition, March 2012). One of the biggest contributors to why individuals
depend on food banks is their social economic status of lower class and poverty. Although this is a
big contributor, there are many more major social determinants that contribute to food bank usage
outside of social economic status designation. I believe the other three most important determinants
that contribute to usage of food banks are education, employment/working conditions and physical
/social environment.
The different levels of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though socio economic status is a huge determinant of food bank usage, I believe that
education, employment/working conditions and physical/social environment are also contributing
determinants for this case. Food banks are initially started to help those in need, but
I believe that federal and provincial governments should furthermore improve economic growth to
increase the likely hood of individuals п¬Ѓnding and sustaining a full time job. With this change,
increased employment would help reduce the use of food banks and improve the quality of life of
individuals.

We Are The Boys From Old Britannia Poetic Devices
Songs and song lyrics can take many different forms. Like poetry, they tend to use many different
literary elements to convey a story. While most songs don t necessarily have a rhyme scheme like
some poems, they do however use elements such as imagery, diction, and many more elements that
can be found in poetry. The four songs Rule Britannia , Land of Hope and Glory , Waltzing Matilda,
and We are the Boys from old Florida demonstrate the use of poetic elements to tell a story. Out of
all of these songs, none are more poetic than Rule Britannia . This song uses great imagery,
allowing the audience to immerse themselves in a stunning picture of the illustrious nation of Great
Britain. The use of phrases like Britannia rules the waves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This can be seen in its emotion. Just like poetry, this song has an ability to create great emotion
in those who hear it and are familiar with its meaning. To someone who is apart of the Gator
Nation, it can stir up a lot of different emotions. For a University of Florida alumni it could bring
back memories of their college days. It could also tie some thoughts into the Florida Ubiquity if
the alumni has relocated. For a current student, it can bring the emotion of pride in being apart
of one of the best universities in the nation. Also, it can remind that student of the tradition of
locking arms and singing We are the Boys from Old Florida at the end of the third quarter of
every home football game. For all future students it could give them a feeling of excitement.
Being able to be a part of a great educational system that one can be proud of is very exciting and
fulfilling. Just like poetry, this song uses a lot of imagery. It depicts the family of the Gator
Nation in great light. It says, We are the boys from old Florida. This showcases the Gator Nation
as a group that is proud. Next, it says, Where the girls the fairest... the boys the squarest of any old
state down our way. This tells the audience that the girls are the prettiest and the boys are the most

Impact Of The Six Persuasions On The 21st Century Global...
1. Introduction According to Robert Beno Cialdini there are six basic fundamental
psychological principles which affects our behaviour and help others to have influence on us.
They are also known as the six weapons of influence: reciprocity, commitment and consistency,
social proof, authority, liking, scarcity. This research is going to focus on the impact of the six
persuasions on the 21st century global economy and business relationships. Examples from
business will be used to support the views. Good reputation is company s most precious asset, in
order to keep the good name there should be a specific organizational structure depending on its
goals. Every organization has a leader and his job is to monitor the employees. Power and
influence make up the fine texture of organizations, and indeed of all interactions. Influence is
the process whereby A modifies the attitudes or behaviour of B. Power is that which enables him
to do it. (Handy C. B., Understanding Organizations, 4th ed.1993, pages 118 119), which is
Ciadini s fourth principle authority. In business very often scarcity is used by the authority to
perceive people to do what they want by setting deadlines for example. It is known that when an
individual has to finish its work by a particular date it is more productive and concentrated. On the
other hand very often employers are using pep talk to motivate their employees in order to increase
their commitment and consistency in achieving their goal. By using

The Year Is 1941, War Is Waging In Europe Between The Axis
The year is 1941, war is waging in Europe between the Axis and Allies with the United States
trying to remain neutral. Yet, the nation was sharply divided between Isolationists, those who
wanted to stay away from conflict and Interventionists, those who wanted to intervene against the
Nazi regime. President Franklin Roosevelt belonged to the interventionists as he perceived the
war as a life and death struggle in defense of Western values which had become abandoned by
Nazi Germany and their allies. (Burtness and Ober 740) Yet, his presidential campaign promise
was to keep America out of war and with the public in disunity, Roosevelt had very little hope of
rallying the American public to declaring war. This neutrality would come to... Show more content

The defense of Pearl Harbor was in the hands of two commanders, Short and Kimmel, and it was
their joint responsibility to coordinate the defense of Pearl Harbor by mutual cooperation
(Burtness and Ober 742). Short, however, played a major influence in the failed defense of
Pearl Harbor. General Short was commander of the American Army Hawaiian Department at the
start of the 1941 and was informed by the Army Chief of Staff at this time, General George
Marshall, that two major perils that he might face at Pearl Harbor. The first was people of
Japanese descent on the island who are loyal to Japan might engage in sabotage of Hawaiian
infrastructure. The second consisted of a surprise raid by enemy air forces and submarines.
(Burtness and Ober 742 743). Short, however, began to have an excessive fear of potential
sabotaging to the point that it dominated the thinking of General Short, his staff, and, indeed the
entire Hawaiian Department of the Army. Because of this, Short enlisted Colonel Harvey S.
Burwell to help improve sabotage control for the Hawaiian Department. One of the suggestions that
was made to Short, by Burwell, was to bunch the aircraft together, without fuel or ammunition, to
afford better protection against sabotage. The problem associated with this was that aircraft
required four hours notice before they would be ready for combat. Burwell was given the
assumption by Short that

The Impacts of Anthropogenic Greenhouse and Trace Gas Emissions on the Ocean
By: Lexie Herdt, Meredith Fish, and Samantha Ballard
Meteo 470: Video Research Project
12/15/14
Introduction:
Anthropogenic emissions of CO2 and other trace gases affect the atmosphere, ocean, biosphere and
cryosphere (IPCC, 2014). These components of the climate system stimulate interactions between
each other ranging from synoptic to microscale processes and including everything in between.
Since the industrial revolution, human produced emissions have been changing the world around
us (IPCC, 2014). The phenomenon of having greenhouse gases and aerosols in the atmosphere is
natural and necessary to support life on Earth. However, the buildup of greenhouse gases ... Show

This research is intended to further the understanding of how the Earth s climate will be affected
with rising anthropogenic emissions.
Each of the world s countries contributes different amounts of both gas and particle emissions to the
atmosphere influencing changes in weather and climate on a daily basis. The main anthropogenic
emissions in the climate system are Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Methane (CH4), Nitrous Oxide (N2O)
and Aerosols, each consisting of a different atmospheric lifetime. Since the United States endorses
open access to scientific data, tools and resources to conduct research, it is more beneficial to
analyze the anthropogenic emission sources of the United States over other industrialized countries
whose data is not so freely available to the public (Auer et al., 2007). The United States is the
second highest emitter or polluter in the world. The burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, and
transportation produces most of the United States emissions. Due to the country s dependence on
fossil fuels, the United States emission footprint is expanding. With a growing population and an
expanding economy, the United States is urbanizing at an expansive rate. The increase in
population as well as the modernization of our world is causing Americans to increase their energy
consumption through increased transportation and the development of new cities. All in

Why Was Charles I Called Lucky
This is the connection of Charles Lucky Luciano and the US government during World War II.
While locked up, he was continually reading the newspaper reports of Allied victories and
Lucky got annoyed. He wanted to be part of the action and if the U.S. government was
appreciative of his help against the enemy agents in his homeland, then they d be knocked out if
he got his hands dirty and volunteering for active duty. The accounts from Meyer Lansky, was
he had figured it out already. He would volunteer to act as a spy or liaison officer for the troops
on the front line in Sicily. He would put his life on the line by being parachuted into action,
behind enemy lines and use his substantial influence to win the war for America. Lansky
laughed, picturing him landing on top of a church tip. But Lucky couldn t see the humor in it at
all, as he was very serious. This story takes a lot twists and turns from the start. Lucky was born
Salvatore Luciana in 1897 in the Sicilian sulfur mining town of Lercara Friddi. At the age of 10 he
and his family immigrated to New York, and by the time he reached 14 Lucky had already had a
number of arrests. By 1916 he was one of the leading members of the Five Points Gang and close

Informative Essay On Speed Skating
Speed skating is a Winter Olympic sport that has become very popular over the years. One of the
most popular sports in Poland is speed skating. Poland has won many speed skating medals in
the Winter Olympics. One of their best speed skaters is named Zbigniew Brodka, who won gold
in the 1,500 meter race at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, 2014. The history of speed skating
traces back 1,000 years ago in Scandinavia and the Netherlands. They had originally used
snowshoes and skis to travel through snow, but realized they could travel quicker across ice, using
skates (SSHIST.doc). The first speed skaters used animal bones, and boots made of animal skin to
make skates (Thrillspire.com). Speed skating was originally developed as a form of transportation.

Pediatric Implications of Diagnostic, Interventional, and...
Since the beginning of the propitious world, the core aspect that keeps it thriving is the propensity
for people to discover innovations; however, progress of the past is, systematically, detrimental to
the future. Not long after the revolutionary invention of the X ray in the late 19th Century, an
unprecedented number of medical examiners noticed (unknown to the time) radiation burns all over
their body; decades later, an extraordinary surge in cancer cases had arisen. Perhaps, during the
course of these years, scientists and researchers desired to further progress the x ray (into the
immense subsidiaries that are here today), and disregarded any flaws in the apparatus. This
systematic inclination continues into the present time as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Diagnostic radiology has evolved into being the foundation of medical institutions across the
nation; yet, with more and more pediatric patients needing a radiographic image, there are
greater risks of calamities. Shortly after the 20th century X ray scare was resolved, hospitals
nation wide used the state of the art machine to diagnose broken bones, teeth snags, infections,
and even certain cancers. Along with new medical standards and safety measures, followers of
Wilhelm Röntgen (the inventor of the X ray) discovered the properties of X radiation (Hart 48
50). Being close to gamma rays on the electromagnetic spectrum, X radiation fully penetrates the
human body, and since they are produced from a changing nucleus, they are able to affect and
change the nucleus (cells) of the absorbing matter (Cancer 1 4; Burrill (2) 59 62). Oftentimes, the
radiographer will not line up the machine correctly with the organ, tissue, or bone in question and,
therefore, will tell the patient they must retake the image. One X ray of the midsection is equal to
three full days of background radiation (Hart 50). Radiologic technologists do not keep records of
patients prior radiation exposure so it is up to them to discuss (with a general practitioner) and
know their limits (Choy 88). A

Post World War II American Society
Post World War II American Society American had been isolationist in keeping the affairs to itself.
When the policy of Good Samaritan did not work out as America failed to keep the harmony
between Europe countries, it became substantial that external concerns are devastating. Any idea of
movement to stop the tyranny in Europe was even opposed strongly as a retaliation response to the
failure. Nonetheless, the long tradition of isolationism finally ended when the World War II
disrupted. The relinquishment of isolationism can be marked down by the popularity of Henry
Luce, around February 1941, who was the founder and editor of Life and Time magazine. As an
ardent enthusiast of the intervention in Europe against Hitler, Luce fancied the idea that America
has had the most prowess compared to other countries and made it a point that the responsibility to
that power should began to be shouldered by America. However he anticipated that they,
Americans, should employ their influence on the world: he advised that the US to be a force of
good. Global free enterprising, feeding and clothing the world, and spreading the archetypes of
egalitarianism, equality, autonomy and fairness were what he believed should be insured by
America to other countries. Luce also wrote to his readers that as America was still an isolationist,
the influence of American culture was not bound to only their continent but to the whole world
such as American jazz, movies, music and products. This condition

African Influence On American Culture
The African Art is one of the most wide ranging as well as non definitive forms in the world of
literature and art. African art is known for its simple, primitive and unsophisticated attributes. The
African art left its legacy on the European as well as American artists. The African art attracted
many prominent European artists such as Henry Matisse and Pablo Picasso. Many of their artworks
reflect the African influence that inspired them so much. There is a very close association between
Africaand Latin America as far as cultural and artistic legacy is concerned. In the history, especially
in around 15th century the Africans migrated from the continent to South America, which is also
called Latin America.

The evidence to this statement is the influence of African art on the most popular artistic
movements of the last century. Among the artistic moments some of the popular movements are
Cubism, Modernism and Geometric art. Cubism was among the most popular visual art form of
early twentieth century that was created by Pablo Picasso. Later on Picasso expressed Cubism
through Primitive African art form. Modernism is one more important movements which was
inclined towards abstraction. The artists were supported for this abstraction from African art. The
Geometric art form, one more abstract form could also been presented with the inspiration from
African art. African art is recognized among the artistic circles as an aesthetic form. Along with fine
art, the African culture influenced the performing art form in Latin America. For example the steps
of the Salsa dance have been inspired by African tribal folk dance form. The music in Latin America
has the shade of African culture. Thus Latin Americans took many artistic forms from African
culture.
The abstract and expressionistic art, emerged in the land of America, was based on the African
ironical, symbolical and colourful gesture. Thus the modern art form were inspired by the free spirit
of the African art. Leaving aside their sophistication, the artists in the land of Latin America

Behavioral Addictions; Where to Draw the Line?
The term addiction is a compulsive physiological need for and use of a habit forming substance
based on www.merriamwebster.com, and how it is used has been the subject of controversy for
decade. Whether we read it on the newspapers and magazines, heard about it on the radio, watched
it on the television, and talked about it on social media, they emphasize often addictions related to
substance used, for instance either drugs, alcohols, including prescription medicines and cigarettes.
Evidently, what we do not see as often on the headlines are behavioral addictions that we may be

Frequently, it is hard to recognize that we are suffering from it; people living with behavioral

The Gospel Of Mark Essays
Jesus Christ lived a very full, if short, life. He did and accomplished more in his thirty years than
many men do in twice that. The gospels each tell their versions of his life. Of the four, I found
the gospel of Mark to be the most interesting. I enjoy the style of writing in this gospel more than
the others. I feel it gives a better summary of the events in Christ s life. Whereas the other gospels
tend to get bogged down with parables or spend too much time on specific events, the gospelof
Mark moves along at a good pace and adequately gets the message across. A majority of Mark
deals with Christ s travels throughout the area around the Sea of Galilee and the various miracles
he performed during that time. Most of these involved... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a beautifully written passage. Without coming out and saying, it, Christ makes it
apparent that it s not enough to merely worship; one must also go out and preach to the unsaved
and try to help them see the light. Another parable tells of the rich young man who asks Christ
how he may attain the kingdom of God. Christ asks if he as followed the Ten Commandments,
and the young man says he has. Then Christ tells him that he has to give all his possessions to
the poor because he will have no need of such things in Heaven. This saddens the young man
because he has many possessions. After the young man left, Christ told his disciples that it is
difficult for the rich to get into Heaven because they put too much faith into their riches. It is
easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom
of God, (Mark 10:25). This is a poignant message. Christ then says that a man who gives up
everything for his faith will be well rewarded in Heaven. This parable is timeless. It speaks of the
downfall greed can force upon you. In the end, no matter how much you have, you can t take it
with you. One of the most widely told stories of Jesus is written in Mark. Upon visiting the Temple
in Jerusalem, Christ finds it is overrun with merchants and moneychangers. Enraged, Jesus
overturns the tables and calls the temple a den of thieves. This angered the priests and scribes of

Summary Of Epilogue To Roslin s Room
Cersei stopped in front of Roslin s door and hesitated for a moment, debating internally whether it
would be better to just go back to her own room and think of some excuse to tell Roslin later or
not. She would probably notice that something was wrong with her mom if she saw Cersei. But
despite of her fears, the blonde decided she wouldn t run away this time.
Cersei inhaled and exhaled deeply to try to calm her nerves but it only made things worse, and
this irritated her. Fuck that... she cursed under her breath before finally push the door and step
into Roslin s room. She found the redhead lying in bed with her girls, Lily and Joanna, and Cersei

The Key Role Of Muscles In The Human Body
The spinal column, and muscles around it play a key role in our lives. Most of our structural
support in our back comes from structures called vertebrae. In total the human has 33 vertebrae.
The bodies of the vertebrae rest on intervertebral discs. These discs have a ring of fibrocartilage
called annulus fibrosus with a substance in the center called pulposus. These tissues provide
flexibility within the spinal column. The spinal cord runs through the vertebral foramen of each
vertebrae. Some vertebrae have spinous processes that are located on the posterior of the
structures. Within the vertebral foramen there is fat, areolar connective tissue, and blood vessels.
These tissues provide cushioning for the spinal cord which is a vital part of our survival. The
vertebrae can vary in shape and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The rotatores are located on the spinous processes of the vertebrae superior to the one of the origin.
Its purpose is to extend the vertebral column and to rotate the column from side to side by
contracting the opposite muscle (Tortora Derrickson, 377). The multifidus is on the laminae of the
vertebrae and then connects to the spinous processes of two to three vertebrae above it s origin (
Transversospinalis Multifidus. ) This continues all of the way down the spinal column. Its main
function is to extend the column and laterally flex the column while rotating the head to the side
by contracting opposite muscles. The semispinalis thoracis is on the spinous process of the
superior four vertebrae and the last two cervical vertebrae. The semispinalis cervicis, on the other
hand, is on the spinous processes of the first and fifth cervical vertebrae. The purpose of these two
muscles is similar to the others. They too extend the column in their respective regions along with
rotating the head to the opposite side of the contracting

A Report On The Plane Detectors
The airplane was equipped with a smoke and fire detection and warning system to provide flight
crews with a visual indication in the cockpit of smoke or fire in the cargo compartments. The
airplane had a total of 26 smoke detectors. The main cargo compartment had 7 smoke detectors
installed, and in the 4 lower cargo compartments were 19 smokedetectorsinstalled. During the
preflight checks the flight crew tested the operation of the smoke detectors by enabling their test
function from the cockpit. The flight engineer reported that no problems were encountered during
the functional check of the smoke detectors before the flight. The main cargo compartment smoke
detectorsystem consists of detectors located in the compartment ceiling that were designed to
provide a smoke indication whenever the smoke around a detector reached a certain density. Five
of the seven smoke detectors were mounted on the left side of the ceiling at locations
corresponding to cargo containers 2, 5, 8, 11/12, and 14. The other two detectors were mounted
next to each other near the ceiling centerline at locations corresponding to cargo containers 17 and
18. The smoke detector switch, which is located on the flight engineer s upper panel, provides a
means for testing the smoke detectors and the system wiring. The smoke detector switch has the
following labeled positions: OFF, NOR [normal], and 1 through 7. However, the system is not able

Anatomy Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common condition that affects the hand and wrist. It happens
when too much pressure is put on the median nerve. The median nerve runs through a structure at
the wrist called the carpal tunnel, which is where the syndrome gets its name. Sometimes the carpal
tunnel (which is made up of the carpal bones and the transverse ligament) will narrow, due to
swelling, and that is how the median nerve gets squeezed. This condition is usually progressive (it
will continue to get worse over time) and the symptoms involve numbness and pain in the wrist and
hand. Sometimes the pain will also spread up into the arm (Sartore).

From farm to table getting our food and produce to the consumer is a tricky task. Even with all the
planning millions of food ends up wasted a year. Many steps are already taken to reduce the
amount of food being wasted but are they enough? In America alone 200 to 250 pounds is wasted
per person per year! According the world resources institute 32 percent of the world s food was
never consumed in 2009 .
Food waste has an immense negative effect on our economy and even our environment. Our

Work time money and energy is being sacrificed for no reward and most of the time is a huge
loss to the producer. Food portion sizes in American restaurants have mostly been getting larger
since the 1970s. Restaurants use larger portion. Larger portions make customers more willing to
buy and in turn they cannot finish the whole meal. This trend toward larger sizes causes more
food waste when customers are unable to finish a meal and also contributes to obesity and over
eating of food. Americans also tend to leave a lot of food behind in restaurants according to the
world resource institute we do not finish our food about 17 percent of the time while 55 percent of
the time our leftover are not taken home. In the United States three commonly seen terms are sell
by, best if used by, and use by none of which are required by the federal government. These dates
all refer to food quality or the flavor of the food instead of food safety, a measure of whether or
not the food could potentially cause illness when eaten. However, consumers often view all of
these dates as being a measure of food safety.104 So while food that has passed its sell by date
might be less desirable than newly purchased food, it is often still entirely safe to eat. This
misperception may lead consumers to throwaway edible food they believe is no longer safe to eat.
All this waste and there are thousands of people in America alone who go hungry every

Review Of Battle Hymns Of The Tiger Mother By Dr....
One of the many arduous decisions parents face is how to raise their children. Over time, renowned
thinkers the world over have identified and coined different distinct styles of parenting and their
outcomes. Diana Baumrind is credited for her three styles of parenting: permissive, authoritarian,
and authoritative. Amy Chua first identified a particular style of parentingcharacterized by strict
regulations known as Tiger Parenting in her book Battle Hymns of the Tiger Mother. In contrast,
free range parenting, popularized by Dr. Benjamin Spock, takes a laissez faire approach. Good
Morning Today took a look at three distinct styles of parenting from the eyes of three successful
children, to help see things from a different perspective.
The first style of parenting mentioned is known as Tiger Parenting . First coined by Yale law
professor Amy Chua, the style has become a common household name. Strict regimen parents
who prioritize academic success and scholastic achievements are characteristic of this style.
Furthermore, high academic expectations and few freedoms typically await the child. Shanny
Lee recounts her experience on being raised under a tiger mom. She recalls having to practice
math problems at age five immediately after school. In her mother s eyes, nothing below a B
grade would be acceptable and she recalls feeling scared to come home with a lower grade. From
this we can see that an extremely high standard was set at a young age. Although this made her

Moral And Spiritual Parables In The Bible In The Bible
Parable 1
Throughout the Bible you ll discover many parables that tell a simple story of how Jesus
illustrates moral and spiritual lessons. Parables give one or more instructional lessons or
principles that can be an allegory. Parables also hold key words from Jesus readings that are meant
to grasp people s attention and making sure they are hearing what is said. Jesus wants the listeners
to focus on what is being said so that they will understand what He is teaching them. For example,
He who has ears is a saying that is worded differently so that the reader s attention is grasped. It
has been said that a parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning because of the hidden key
words implemented in the text. Jesus frequently used parables as a way to illustrate profound
and divine truths. Readers can break down parables and vigorously study them to better
understand Jesus way of teaching, but mainly in order to be able to connect to Him through
them. The disciples noticed the change in Jesus teaching and asked why he told a parable. In
response Jesus said To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven,
but to them it has not been granted (Mathew 13:11). Its weird to think Jesus would leave people in
question. Jesus would explain to the disciples that those who have, to him more shall be given, and
he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from
him. This was a common teaching in Judaism.

Cognitive, Motor, And Social Emotional Skills
During growth and development children are expected to meet certain milestones at specific
ages. No two children are exactly alike. Children grow and develop at their own pace. However,
parents or primary care providers may notice slow or absent growth and development in a child.
Developmental screenings take place initially. When abnormal growth and development are noted;
a developmental assessment is warranted. The developmental assessment will aid in recognition of
the development and growth concern. Also, prevent any further delays and enabling prompt and
essential interventions to take place; to enhance growth and development. The developmental
assessment will examine cognitive, language, motor, and social emotional skills (Burns, Dunn,
Brady, Starr, Blosser, 2013). Each developmental tool used should be compatible with the age of
the child; to ensure accurate results. The Receptive Expressive Emergent Language (REEL) Scale
can be used to address speech and language concerns. Tools used to assess emotional and social
behavior include ASQ: Social Emotional (ASQ: SE), the Temperament and Atypical Behavior Scale
(TABS), and the Infant Toddler and Family Instrument (ITFI) (Burns et al., 2013). The primary care
provider can use other techniques to assess and screen for developmental delays. In my opinion, all
tools utilized have the potential to enhance other gathered viable information. For instance, the
parents may have a concern and is unable to convey the information

The Deployment Of Economic Sanctions On The International...
The deployment of economic sanctions on the international stage by states to influence the behavior
of other states has become the norm in International Relations. Despite the increase in popularity of
this practice over the course of the past century, the question of its efficiency is one that is still
debated and remains unanswered. The idea that putting economic pressures on a countryto illicit a
certain behavior or change in behavior from that country works in theory, but in practice, it is more
complicated and does not necessarily work the way that theory suggests it should. Some economists
and policy analysts have taken the approach of deconstructing the subject in order to consider what
variable may or may not affect the efficiency... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Positive sanctions are meant to foster relations between countries. Negative sanctions are intended
to cause another country economic harm. The debate around economic sanctions typically focuses
on the negative kind. Sanctions can be unilateral from one sender country to one target country or
multilateral from multiple countries. Multilateral sanctions can be orchestrated by one main
country supported by other countries, or they can be sent under the auspices of an international
organization. Raul Caruso distinguishes three different kinds of negative sanctions boycotts,
embargoes, and
Kassim 3 financial sanctions. A boycott is the restriction of imports from the targetcountry;
embargoes are restrictions on exports to the target country; financial sanctions are restrictions on
investment in the target country (Caruso Should We Set 23). Kaempfer and Lowenberg posit
that economic sanctions can be proposed for the following three reasons: in response to a nation
that threatens the wealth or security of the sender nation; to achieve moral or ideological goals;
as a part of trade policy and commercial relations i.e. in response to tariffs or quotas (Kaempfer
2). The question of whether or not sanctions are efficient is a difficult one to answer. A major
contributing factor to this difficulty is the lack of a universal standard for gauging success.
Analysts create the criteria by which to judge success, and these criteria are not accepted by

Biblical Allusions In Beowulf
Beowulf is a poem written down and told in the Anglo Saxon era. It is an epic poem written by
an unknown author. An epic poem is long narrative poem dealing with the trial and achievements
of a hero or heroes. This epic poem is about the trial of a man named Beowulf who fights off

eventually gets written down hundreds of years later. Beowulf was first poem to ever be written

that Beowulf was originally written down by a Christian monk. This is because there are
Christian references all throughout the book even though the poem was originally spoken in a
pagan, Anglo Saxon way. Pagans are people who don t know of, or don t believe in the bible.

During that time Beowulf was orally told. Throughout time, it had slowly drawn in more and
more Christian references and biblical allusions. In the story while everyone is celebrating at

biblical allusion to the story of Noah in the bible. This story that was probably added by the

the celebrations together so that both groups were celebrating together. The celebrations were
previously very similar. This influenced many pagans to become christian. This is one of the events
that started the major transition between Anglo Saxon pagans and Anglo Saxon

Imperial Japanese Army Responsible For Ww2 Essay
The Imperial Japanese army was responsible for their own downfall in WWII, as they were too
egotistical, putting pride before logical and effective decisions, started making fatal mistakes
and planning failures, and made game changing decisions that ultimately caused great defeat for
the Imperial Japanese army. The Imperial Japanese army was responsible for their own downfall
in WWII as they made fatal decisions. First, the Japanese army neglected to routinely change
their codes. American code breakers quickly broke the Japanese code and were able to anticipate
almost all Japanese moves, resulting in many victories for the Allies, such as the Battle of
Midway and the assassination of Admiral Isoruku Tammamoto, and consequently great defeat for
Japan. Elliot Carlson, a journalist and historian states in an NPR interview, That victory was

The Wonderous Words of Charles Dickens Come to Life in the...
Charles Dickens is an infamous writer of wondrously worded and descriptive British Victorian
novels. Not only does he go above and beyond the call of a writer to descriptively transform
worlds around him into literary works of art, but he also has a way in which he is able to hide
different symbolic sentiments and objects that seem to pop up around each and every twist and
turn he gives us. Oliver Twist is no different. Charles Dickenscleverly centered the entire novel on
twists and objects that do just that; such as handkerchiefs, neckties and ropes. The handkerchief is
an ongoing symbol that has different significances that really pull the entire novel together. In
Oliver Twist, the handkerchief takes on its own meaning and symbol of brilliantly tying Oliver s
world that is full of twists and turns itself, all together. We are first introduced to the image or
symbol of the handkerchief when Oliver encounters Faginand his mischievous group of young
thieves. After running away from his apprenticeship that he was treated poorly at, Oliver goes to
the city of London. There, Jack Dawkins also known as the Artful Dodgertook pity on him and
gave him not only food and shelter, but a deal with the devil as well. Dawkins takes Oliver to
Fagin (also known as the Jew ); the leader of a group of thieves, and this is where the
handkerchief makes a first and lasting impression. Dickens writes Oliver to be very observant and

Therefore, schools tend to put children with disabilities in the same classroom and have them learn
the same material at the same pace. That resulted in children with disabilities to not succeed. A
supreme court decision was made that all schools must provide private one on one schooling to
such children with disabilities. Since 1975, great strides have been made in improving educational
opportunities. The great strides can be attributed to the Education for All Handicapped Children Act
which is now called Individuals with Disabilities Act.
According to the Journal of Early Intervention lack of social skills has an impact on children with
disabilities. Social interactions help develop any child s personable skills and helps them establish
who they are. Embedded peer modeling has shown to increase children with autisms ability to
interact with peers. Children with autism have difficulty developing positive peer relationships
(DiSalvo Oswald, 2002; Mconnell, 2002; Strain Hoyson, 2000).
Examples of developmental disabilities are Autism spectrum disorder, behavior disorders, Down
syndrome, fetal alcohol syndrome and intellectual disabilities.

An Economy Or Economic System
An economy or economic system consists of the production, distribution or trade, and consumption
of limited goods and services by different agents in a given geographical location. The economic
agents can be individuals, businesses, organizations, or governments. Transactions occur when two
parties agree to the value or price of the transacted good or service, commonly expressed in a
certain currency.
In the past, economic activity was theorized to be bounded by natural resources, labor, and capital.
This view ignores the value of technology, and innovation, especially that which produces
intellectual property.
A given economy is the result of a set of processes that involves its culture, values, education,
technological evolution, history, social organization, political structure and legal systems, as well
as its geography, natural resource endowment, and ecology, as main factors. These factors give
context, content, and set the conditions and parameters in which an economy functions. The largest
national economies by continent are: the United States in the Americas, Germany in Europe,
Nigeria in Africa, China in Asia and Australia in Oceania.
A market based economy is where goods and services are produced without obstruction or
interference, and exchanged according to demand and supply between participants by barter or a
medium of exchange with a credit or debit value accepted within the network, such as a unit of
currency and at some free market or market clearing

Reticulitermes Lab Report
Reticulitermes termites can be found in most southeastern regions because of the warm and
humid conditions. The termites in this experiment are housed inside a petri dish that can be

Underground 4 Analysis
About Underground 4:
Underground 4 most definitely followed the three act structure, with the intro act one starts with the
final outcome of the film (YouTube, 2017).
The girl from the film telling her grandchild through a song about her past. I felt this is a very
interesting way to start the film. ACT 2, the inciting incident is when the grandmother is a child and
the protagonist, the father overhears an antagonist, a slave owner, talking about buying his child.
The second act also holds the first turning point, when the father has made up his mind to run and a
female slave tries to talk him out of it, however, end up running together.
ACT 3 gives us the low point and the climax when the protagonist, the father is caught and hong
right in front of his child. the grandmothers the connection to this story is a little vague but it does
become clear at the end. The fact the young girl survives is a testament to sacrifice the protagonist,
the father made. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
ACT 2 the inciting incident, is when Charles and Rachel ask the little boy to marry them and he
tells them he can not because Charles is not Jewish. Along with the first turning point when Charles
decides to become Jewish to be able to marry his love Rachel.
ACT 3 brings to light the antagonist, Charles s mother who gives Charles an ultimatum about
eating his dinner and him being too young to marry which is the inciting incident. the low point
and the climax, when Charles is thinking about what his mother said is the low point and the
climax happens when Charles and Rachel are married in the park and Charles says oy vey .
Going back and watching this film I now see why my classmates enjoyed it so much. (adorable)
And yes Kosher did follow the three act structure.

Improving The Situation At The Engstrom Auto Mirror Plant
In this portion of my case analysis, I will be showing ways for suggested solutions in order to help
improve the situation at the Engstrom Auto Mirror Plant. I will be showing ways in which
organizational improvement outcomes can directly help remedy some of the issues and recommend
strategic actions that would lead the organization in a proactive production workforce. The
recommendations are creating committees, rework how the Scanlon Plan bonus works, create or
use their marketing and sales department to the full capacity, and to help empower the workforce
work to achieve Corporate Social Responsibility. (CSR)

on how they can make the plant work better. By increasing communication at all levels in the
organization the worker s participation becomes effective in increasing productivity and quality of
products.
Engstrom should provide a space in which workforce can communicate by having managers listen
to them and asking them questions. People generally know the right answers if they have the
opportunity to produce them. For Engstrom creating teams and committees with members from
each production department to management is important. A committee can help improve the line

Nurses should be full partners, with physicians and other health professionals, in redesigning health
care in the United States. 4. Effective workforce planning and policy making require better data
collection and information infrastructure. What I took from those four main issues is the
importance for nurses to continue with their training, so that those currently in the nursing
profession would be more competent, with a larger range of responsibilities. Through that further
nursing education and making programs more accessible to the nursing profession to achieve a
higher level of education. Nurses are the ones that are delivering care; therefore nurses should be
active in regards to resigning of health care. Nurses need to speak and be able, have input into the
implementation of health care systems. In my opinion, the report re invents health care in
America. Nurses are the largest part of the health workforce. They are often seen as the most
trusted in the health care profession. From what I understood, it lets APNs work towards their
fullest potential in being able to provide quality, effective, safe care. The ability to work
independently and no longer hinders the APN to provide full primary care services.

Oskar Schindler Hero
When you think of a World War II hero, you might think of a soldier who fought for his country
and our freedom. Of course, anyone who fought in World War II should be considered a hero but
there are many non military heroes from that time too. Oskar Schindler is one of those people. He
was a German industrialist, a spy, and member of the Nazi Party who is responsible for saving
1,200 Jewslives during the Holocaustby giving them jobs in his enamelware and ammunitions
factories.
Schindler was born April 28th, 1908, into a Sudeten German family in Zwittau, Moravia, Austria

mother was Franziska Fanny Schindler. He had a sister named, Elfriede, who was born in 1915.
After attending primary and secondary school, Schindler enrolled in a technical school but he
was expelled in 1924 for forging his report card. He later graduated, but did not take the Abitur

Personal Freedom In The Indispensable Opposition By Walter...
Walter Lippman writes on his beliefs on the subject of personal freedom in the article The
Indispensable Opposition . The author draws from his personal knowledge and observations of
natural human interactions in order, to support the basis of his argument. He utilizes repetition of
the word freedom, an abrasive tone, and day to day natural occurrences in order to stimulate the
reader into thinking about freedom overall and how it effects themselves as a common human
being. Lippmann also uses Voltaire s enlightenment ideas to provide a rebuttal to Lippmann s ideas
which he successfully argues in order to make his opinions seem more correct. All of these
strategies help to convince the reader that freedom is taken for granted and selfishly abused when
another being displays an opinion that we don t agree with.
A useful tactic that Lippman uses throughout his article is repetition. The word that he mostly
repeats is the word freedom . He constantly reminds the audience that there is freedom of speech,
freedom of opinion, freedom of discussion because freedom of discussion improves our own
opinions . He utilizes this specific strategy in order to create a prominent image of freedom within
the reader and draw out the reader s personal feelings on freedom and overarchingly connect the
audience back to the central idea of the article. Lippman establishes his argument immediately,
which makes it seem simple and direct to the reader even though it is actually quite

Examples Of Egoism In The Veldt
Ray Bradbury uses Ethical Egoism in two stories, Marionettes, Inc. and The Veldt. Bradbury
creates each character to act with self interest while putting himself in place of those characters
and acts in self interest for them as well as himself. A section from The Veldt shows Mr. Hadley
s and Bradbury s self interest, As for the nursery, thought George Hadley, it won t hurt for the
children to be locked out of it awhile. Too much of anything isn t good for anyone. And it was
clearly indicated that the children had been spending a little too much time on Africa. That sun.
He could feel it on his neck, still, like a hot paw. And the lions. And the smell of blood.
Remarkable how the nursery caught the telepathic emanations of the children s minds and created
life to fill their every desire. The children thought zebras, and there were zebras. Sun sun. Giraffes
giraffes. Death and death. Hadley believed he was doing the best thing for himself by locking the
nursery so he wouldn t have to feel the sun, see the lions, or smell the blood. In... Show more

kamehameha the third Essay examples
Kauikeaouli was born on August 11, 1813 on the Big Island of Hawaii. He became king at age
11 when his older brother Liholiho died, who ruled as Kamehameha II. For 14 years of his reign
Kauikeaouli was guided by Kaahumanu and Kinau. At age 25, he took on the responsibilities of
kingship by himself as Kamehameha III. (The Reignof Kamehameha III Website) Kauikeaouli s
reign of thirty years was filled with change and accomplishment. Kamehameha III s reign would
be a desirable time to live in because of the small population, religious freedom, and the equality
for all Hawaiians.

The small pox epidemic lasted for six months, and ended in the month of October. Ten thousand of
the Hawaiian population are said to have died of the small pox disease. (Kamakau)
The religious situation in Hawaii had changed as well. In 1839, Kamehameha III guaranteed
religious freedom to the people of Hawaii. (The World of Royalty Website) Protestantism was no
longer a state religion and it was also no longer strictly an American religion. Catholics and
Mormons had finally established churches, and the
Hawaiian churches came into its own form. The Hawaiian church had broken away from the
American ministry and customs, and formed its own Native ministry. (Mrantz) Along with
guaranteeing religious freedom, King Kamehameha III was responsible for transforming the
kingdom into a modern constitutional monarchy. For the first time in their history, Hawaii s people
were represented in their own government. Their constitution allowed them a House of
Representatives and the right to elect their representatives. With all these changes, France, Great
Britain and the United States had finally recognized Hawaii as an independent nation. (The World

An Analysis Of Punishment, By Seamus Heaney
Poets have rarely shown a perspective as dubious on the atrocities of the Irish Republican Army as
Seamus Heaney has done in his poem Punishment . Heaney succeeds in uniting two contradictory
perspectives by comparing the cruelty of an ancient time fluently with contemporary barbarism. By
viewing contemporary violence through the lens of Iron Age customs, he untangles the harsh truth
of human nature. Unlike other essays, which have focussed primarily on the historical background,
this essay will analyse the lexical aspects that colour these former and present times. By looking at
the extensive use of lexical oppositions and poetic devices, one can see the many layers Heaney has
used, which is important to underscore the contrasting structures... Show more content on

The poem is enjambed across both lines and stanzas, which allows the reader to flow along in an
evolvement of thoughts. Moreover, past and present seem to merge smoothly since he easily
draws parallels between the ritual sacrifice from the Iron Age and the killings by IRA at the
time. The speaker moves from a detached observer to a puzzled participant, who senses the
linkage between the socialized violence of ancient and contemporary times. Other tools used to
link words, and thus meanings, together and to increase the fluency of the text are alliterations
and assonances. The dark sentiment in this poem is carried on a system of clear alliteration:
halter, nape, her neck, her naked and her nipples in the first stanza, a case of double alliteration,
and rigging her ribs , body in the bog , stones of silence , shaved head like a stubble , blindfold of a
soiled bandage . Assonance is used abundantly in the third paragraph. Furthermore, the poem is
written in iambic pentameter without rhyme. This rhythmic form also aids to create a continuous
flow throughout the eleven four line

Instead, of liking cars and action figures; Zeus liked rain and thunder. On his 8th birthday Cronus gave him a lightning bolt. Food Bank Use in Canada Food Bank Use in Canada According to Food Banks Canada, food bank usage has soared to 28% in the past three years, with more than 850,000 Canadians making use of a food bank in a typical year (Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition, March 2012). One of the biggest contributors to why individuals depend on food banks is their social economic status of lower class and poverty. Although this is a big contributor, there are many more major social determinants that contribute to food bank usage outside of social economic status designation. I believe the other three most important determinants that contribute to usage of food banks are education, employment/working conditions and physical /social environment. The different levels of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though socio economic status is a huge determinant of food bank usage, I believe that education, employment/working conditions and physical/social environment are also contributing determinants for this case. Food banks are initially started to help those in need, but I believe that federal and provincial governments should furthermore improve economic growth to increase the likely hood of individuals п¬Ѓnding and sustaining a full time job. With this change, increased employment would help reduce the use of food banks and improve the quality of life of individuals. References Daily Bread Food Bank. (2010). • 4. We Are The Boys From Old Britannia Poetic Devices Songs and song lyrics can take many different forms. Like poetry, they tend to use many different literary elements to convey a story. While most songs don t necessarily have a rhyme scheme like some poems, they do however use elements such as imagery, diction, and many more elements that can be found in poetry. The four songs Rule Britannia , Land of Hope and Glory , Waltzing Matilda, and We are the Boys from old Florida demonstrate the use of poetic elements to tell a story. Out of all of these songs, none are more poetic than Rule Britannia . This song uses great imagery, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in a stunning picture of the illustrious nation of Great Britain. The use of phrases like Britannia rules the waves ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can be seen in its emotion. Just like poetry, this song has an ability to create great emotion in those who hear it and are familiar with its meaning. To someone who is apart of the Gator Nation, it can stir up a lot of different emotions. For a University of Florida alumni it could bring back memories of their college days. It could also tie some thoughts into the Florida Ubiquity if the alumni has relocated. For a current student, it can bring the emotion of pride in being apart of one of the best universities in the nation. Also, it can remind that student of the tradition of locking arms and singing We are the Boys from Old Florida at the end of the third quarter of every home football game. For all future students it could give them a feeling of excitement. Being able to be a part of a great educational system that one can be proud of is very exciting and fulfilling. Just like poetry, this song uses a lot of imagery. It depicts the family of the Gator Nation in great light. It says, We are the boys from old Florida. • 5. Impact Of The Six Persuasions On The 21st Century Global... 1. Introduction According to Robert Beno Cialdini there are six basic fundamental psychological principles which affects our behaviour and help others to have influence on us. They are also known as the six weapons of influence: reciprocity, commitment and consistency, social proof, authority, liking, scarcity. This research is going to focus on the impact of the six persuasions on the 21st century global economy and business relationships. Examples from business will be used to support the views. Good reputation is company s most precious asset, in order to keep the good name there should be a specific organizational structure depending on its goals. Every organization has a leader and his job is to monitor the employees. Power and influence make up the fine texture of organizations, and indeed of all interactions. Influence is the process whereby A modifies the attitudes or behaviour of B. Power is that which enables him to do it. (Handy C. B., Understanding Organizations, 4th ed.1993, pages 118 119), which is Ciadini s fourth principle authority. In business very often scarcity is used by the authority to perceive people to do what they want by setting deadlines for example. It is known that when an individual has to finish its work by a particular date it is more productive and concentrated. On the other hand very often employers are using pep talk to motivate their employees in order to increase their commitment and consistency in achieving their goal. By using ... Yet, the nation was sharply divided between Isolationists, those who wanted to stay away from conflict and Interventionists, those who wanted to intervene against the Nazi regime. President Franklin Roosevelt belonged to the interventionists as he perceived the war as a life and death struggle in defense of Western values which had become abandoned by Nazi Germany and their allies. (Burtness and Ober 740) Yet, his presidential campaign promise was to keep America out of war and with the public in disunity, Roosevelt had very little hope of rallying the American public to declaring war. The defense of Pearl Harbor was in the hands of two commanders, Short and Kimmel, and it was their joint responsibility to coordinate the defense of Pearl Harbor by mutual cooperation (Burtness and Ober 742). Short, however, played a major influence in the failed defense of Pearl Harbor. General Short was commander of the American Army Hawaiian Department at the start of the 1941 and was informed by the Army Chief of Staff at this time, General George Marshall, that two major perils that he might face at Pearl Harbor. The first was people of Japanese descent on the island who are loyal to Japan might engage in sabotage of Hawaiian infrastructure. The second consisted of a surprise raid by enemy air forces and submarines. (Burtness and Ober 742 743). Short, however, began to have an excessive fear of potential sabotaging to the point that it dominated the thinking of General Short, his staff, and, indeed the entire Hawaiian Department of the Army. Because of this, Short enlisted Colonel Harvey S. Burwell to help improve sabotage control for the Hawaiian Department. One of the suggestions that was made to Short, by Burwell, was to bunch the aircraft together, without fuel or ammunition, to afford better protection against sabotage. The problem associated with this was that aircraft required four hours notice before they would be ready for combat. Burwell was given the assumption by Short that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Impacts of Anthropogenic Greenhouse and Trace Gas Emissions on the Ocean By: Lexie Herdt, Meredith Fish, and Samantha Ballard Meteo 470: Video Research Project 12/15/14 Introduction: Anthropogenic emissions of CO2 and other trace gases affect the atmosphere, ocean, biosphere and cryosphere (IPCC, 2014). These components of the climate system stimulate interactions between each other ranging from synoptic to microscale processes and including everything in between. Since the industrial revolution, human produced emissions have been changing the world around us (IPCC, 2014). The phenomenon of having greenhouse gases and aerosols in the atmosphere is natural and necessary to support life on Earth. However, the buildup of greenhouse gases ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This research is intended to further the understanding of how the Earth s climate will be affected with rising anthropogenic emissions. Each of the world s countries contributes different amounts of both gas and particle emissions to the atmosphere influencing changes in weather and climate on a daily basis. The main anthropogenic emissions in the climate system are Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Methane (CH4), Nitrous Oxide (N2O) and Aerosols, each consisting of a different atmospheric lifetime. Since the United States endorses open access to scientific data, tools and resources to conduct research, it is more beneficial to analyze the anthropogenic emission sources of the United States over other industrialized countries whose data is not so freely available to the public (Auer et al., 2007). The United States is the second highest emitter or polluter in the world. The burning of fossil fuels for electricity, heat, and transportation produces most of the United States emissions. Due to the country s dependence on fossil fuels, the United States emission footprint is expanding. With a growing population and an expanding economy, the United States is urbanizing at an expansive rate. The increase in population as well as the modernization of our world is causing Americans to increase their energy consumption through increased transportation and the development of new cities. • 9. Why Was Charles I Called Lucky This is the connection of Charles Lucky Luciano and the US government during World War II. While locked up, he was continually reading the newspaper reports of Allied victories and Lucky got annoyed. He wanted to be part of the action and if the U.S. government was appreciative of his help against the enemy agents in his homeland, then they d be knocked out if he got his hands dirty and volunteering for active duty. The accounts from Meyer Lansky, was he had figured it out already. He would volunteer to act as a spy or liaison officer for the troops on the front line in Sicily. He would put his life on the line by being parachuted into action, behind enemy lines and use his substantial influence to win the war for America. Lansky laughed, picturing him landing on top of a church tip. But Lucky couldn t see the humor in it at all, as he was very serious. This story takes a lot twists and turns from the start. Lucky was born Salvatore Luciana in 1897 in the Sicilian sulfur mining town of Lercara Friddi. At the age of 10 he and his family immigrated to New York, and by the time he reached 14 Lucky had already had a number of arrests. Poland has won many speed skating medals in the Winter Olympics. One of their best speed skaters is named Zbigniew Brodka, who won gold in the 1,500 meter race at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, 2014. The history of speed skating traces back 1,000 years ago in Scandinavia and the Netherlands. They had originally used snowshoes and skis to travel through snow, but realized they could travel quicker across ice, using skates (SSHIST.doc). • 11. Pediatric Implications of Diagnostic, Interventional, and... Since the beginning of the propitious world, the core aspect that keeps it thriving is the propensity for people to discover innovations; however, progress of the past is, systematically, detrimental to the future. Not long after the revolutionary invention of the X ray in the late 19th Century, an unprecedented number of medical examiners noticed (unknown to the time) radiation burns all over their body; decades later, an extraordinary surge in cancer cases had arisen. Perhaps, during the course of these years, scientists and researchers desired to further progress the x ray (into the immense subsidiaries that are here today), and disregarded any flaws in the apparatus. This systematic inclination continues into the present time as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Diagnostic radiology has evolved into being the foundation of medical institutions across the nation; yet, with more and more pediatric patients needing a radiographic image, there are greater risks of calamities. Shortly after the 20th century X ray scare was resolved, hospitals nation wide used the state of the art machine to diagnose broken bones, teeth snags, infections, and even certain cancers. Along with new medical standards and safety measures, followers of Wilhelm RГ¶ntgen (the inventor of the X ray) discovered the properties of X radiation (Hart 48 50). Being close to gamma rays on the electromagnetic spectrum, X radiation fully penetrates the human body, and since they are produced from a changing nucleus, they are able to affect and change the nucleus (cells) of the absorbing matter (Cancer 1 4; Burrill (2) 59 62). Oftentimes, the radiographer will not line up the machine correctly with the organ, tissue, or bone in question and, therefore, will tell the patient they must retake the image. One X ray of the midsection is equal to three full days of background radiation (Hart 50). Radiologic technologists do not keep records of patients prior radiation exposure so it is up to them to discuss (with a general practitioner) and know their limits (Choy 88). A ... • 12. Post World War II American Society Post World War II American Society American had been isolationist in keeping the affairs to itself. When the policy of Good Samaritan did not work out as America failed to keep the harmony between Europe countries, it became substantial that external concerns are devastating. Any idea of movement to stop the tyranny in Europe was even opposed strongly as a retaliation response to the failure. Nonetheless, the long tradition of isolationism finally ended when the World War II disrupted. The relinquishment of isolationism can be marked down by the popularity of Henry Luce, around February 1941, who was the founder and editor of Life and Time magazine. As an ardent enthusiast of the intervention in Europe against Hitler, Luce fancied the idea that America has had the most prowess compared to other countries and made it a point that the responsibility to that power should began to be shouldered by America. However he anticipated that they, Americans, should employ their influence on the world: he advised that the US to be a force of good. Global free enterprising, feeding and clothing the world, and spreading the archetypes of egalitarianism, equality, autonomy and fairness were what he believed should be insured by America to other countries. Luce also wrote to his readers that as America was still an isolationist, the influence of American culture was not bound to only their continent but to the whole world such as American jazz, movies, music and products. Then Christ tells him that he has to give all his possessions to the poor because he will have no need of such things in Heaven. This saddens the young man because he has many possessions. After the young man left, Christ told his disciples that it is difficult for the rich to get into Heaven because they put too much faith into their riches. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God, (Mark 10:25). This is a poignant message. This trend toward larger sizes causes more food waste when customers are unable to finish a meal and also contributes to obesity and over eating of food. • 28. Moral And Spiritual Parables In The Bible In The Bible Parable 1 Throughout the Bible you ll discover many parables that tell a simple story of how Jesus illustrates moral and spiritual lessons. Parables give one or more instructional lessons or principles that can be an allegory. Parables also hold key words from Jesus readings that are meant to grasp people s attention and making sure they are hearing what is said. Jesus wants the listeners to focus on what is being said so that they will understand what He is teaching them. For example, He who has ears is a saying that is worded differently so that the reader s attention is grasped. It has been said that a parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning because of the hidden key words implemented in the text. Jesus frequently used parables as a way to illustrate profound and divine truths. Readers can break down parables and vigorously study them to better understand Jesus way of teaching, but mainly in order to be able to connect to Him through them. The disciples noticed the change in Jesus teaching and asked why he told a parable. In response Jesus said To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but to them it has not been granted (Mathew 13:11). Its weird to think Jesus would leave people in question. Even though this was some time ago, the same is clear today, people need the truth and not a facsimile. The current media options are littered with untruthful articles and deceptive videos or memes. Ad companies are paying premiums to social media sites and videographers for space on a trafficked site or video, encouraging media companies to keep the ads and articles coming. The community suffers from this as a whole and should encourage consideration and respect for their fellow men and women. A media outlet that allows such posts to continually deceive rather than contribute to their knowledge is a problem too. All people and companies of all nations should want to contribute to and help better the world for future generations, as well as for themselves. The person requires community to manifest dignity, and seeks acknowledgement for who we are, and what we are, as humans, and it allows for preferences of each being as it evolves. Because people have inherent good in their essence, and, according to the encyclicals, are created in God s image, the good is capable of transcending anything a political system has created. • 35. The Wonderous Words of Charles Dickens Come to Life in the... Charles Dickens is an infamous writer of wondrously worded and descriptive British Victorian novels. Not only does he go above and beyond the call of a writer to descriptively transform worlds around him into literary works of art, but he also has a way in which he is able to hide different symbolic sentiments and objects that seem to pop up around each and every twist and turn he gives us. Oliver Twist is no different. Charles Dickenscleverly centered the entire novel on twists and objects that do just that; such as handkerchiefs, neckties and ropes. The handkerchief is an ongoing symbol that has different significances that really pull the entire novel together. In Oliver Twist, the handkerchief takes on its own meaning and symbol of brilliantly tying Oliver s world that is full of twists and turns itself, all together. We are first introduced to the image or symbol of the handkerchief when Oliver encounters Faginand his mischievous group of young thieves. After running away from his apprenticeship that he was treated poorly at, Oliver goes to the city of London. There, Jack Dawkins also known as the Artful Dodgertook pity on him and gave him not only food and shelter, but a deal with the devil as well. Dawkins takes Oliver to Fagin (also known as the Jew ); the leader of a group of thieves, and this is where the handkerchief makes a first and lasting impression. Dickens writes Oliver to be very observant and he notices the handkerchiefs while he is taking in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Inspectors soon came upon a 40,000 gallon tank that had been leaking from a chemical storage unit. The object was an oily substance. It had run into the Elk River just upstream from an intake of a drinking water supply for 300,000 people. The chemical that leaked into the river was used for washing mined coal. At 6 p.m., after residents had been using their tap water all day, Gov. Civil Rights Reflection Paper Vice President Johnson, Mr. Speaker, Mr. Chief Justice, President Eisenhower, Vice president Nixon, President Truman, Reverend Clergy, fellow citizens: We observe today not a victory of party but a celebration of freedom symbolizing an end as well as a beginning signifying renewal as well as change. For I have sworn before you and Almighty God the same solemn oath our forebears prescribed nearly a century and three quarters ago. The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life. We dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first revolution. An Economy Or Economic System An economy or economic system consists of the production, distribution or trade, and consumption of limited goods and services by different agents in a given geographical location. The economic agents can be individuals, businesses, organizations, or governments. Transactions occur when two parties agree to the value or price of the transacted good or service, commonly expressed in a certain currency. In the past, economic activity was theorized to be bounded by natural resources, labor, and capital. This view ignores the value of technology, and innovation, especially that which produces intellectual property. A given economy is the result of a set of processes that involves its culture, values, education, technological evolution, history, social organization, political structure and legal systems, as well as its geography, natural resource endowment, and ecology, as main factors. These factors give context, content, and set the conditions and parameters in which an economy functions. The largest national economies by continent are: the United States in the Americas, Germany in Europe, Nigeria in Africa, China in Asia and Australia in Oceania. The author draws from his personal knowledge and observations of natural human interactions in order, to support the basis of his argument. He utilizes repetition of the word freedom, an abrasive tone, and day to day natural occurrences in order to stimulate the reader into thinking about freedom overall and how it effects themselves as a common human being. Lippmann also uses Voltaire s enlightenment ideas to provide a rebuttal to Lippmann s ideas which he successfully argues in order to make his opinions seem more correct. All of these strategies help to convince the reader that freedom is taken for granted and selfishly abused when another being displays an opinion that we don t agree with. A useful tactic that Lippman uses throughout his article is repetition. The word that he mostly repeats is the word freedom . He constantly reminds the audience that there is freedom of speech, freedom of opinion, freedom of discussion because freedom of discussion improves our own opinions . He utilizes this specific strategy in order to create a prominent image of freedom within the reader and draw out the reader s personal feelings on freedom and overarchingly connect the audience back to the central idea of the article. Assonance is used abundantly in the third paragraph. Furthermore, the poem is written in iambic pentameter without rhyme. This rhythmic form also aids to create a continuous flow throughout the eleven four line ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
