Investigating ATM System Accessibility for People with Visual ImpairmentsIOSR Journals
Abstract: The aim of this paper is to draw attention for the evaluation of the accessibility and usability of
Automated Teller Machine (ATM) systems from the point of view of visually impaired persons. It suggests that
there is a need for a more precise application of assistive technologies in order to develop user friendly ATMs
that will aid effective accessibility without the requirement of assistance by ordinary people who may take
advantage of their visual challenges and project them to all odds of insecurity for their cash. The paper suggests
that, while ATMs, as opposed to across the counter services, are now a widely accepted means of easing long
queues in the banks and as a time saving factor for the banking services to the consumers. An accepted feature
of the ATMs is to incorporate assistive technologies which still remain a challenge even with the formative years
of ATM applications. It proposes possible contexts that may benefit the visually impaired from far-reaching
exploration and incorporation of relevant assistive technologies. The paper should be of interest to financial
institutions whose passion is to render better services to their customers in this era of technology considering
that there are those customers who wish to transact with them and even need privacy with the ATMs but cannot
access such benefits because of their cognitive challenges and specifically the visually impaired. Finally the
paper offers a snap-shot of some of the widely-used assistive technologies for the visually impaired when using
ATMs and their associated procedures and potential pitfalls.

“Monitoring eAccessibility in Europe 2010-2011”
MEAC 2 Study
General presentation on relevant results, specific reports and recommendations for future studies on monitoring eAccessibility
Desde la perspectiva innovadora
de Technosite, la industria TIC española
tiene un amplio mercado y oportunidades
de investigación en el desarrollo
de tecnología basada en el concepto
de tercera generación de tecnologías
accesibles, concepto que debe
ser reforzado por las tendencias tecnológicas
en materia de interfaces adaptativos,
interoperabilidad, ubicuidad e interacción
multicanal. Esta nueva concepción
tecnológica asegura la correcta interacción
de todos los ciudadanos con
el entorno tecnológico, independientemente
de diversidad funcional u otros
condicionales que pudieran llevarle a una
situación de exclusión digital
En España se dan un conjunto de
condiciones para liderar tecnologías de
inclusión, que podrán implantarse a gran
escala.
Employment, skills, and accessible technology are key to making greater progress towards broad digital inclusion. This invitation-only workshop jointly organized by Microsoft and ONCE on the 14th June 2010 was an opportunity to facilitate a high level, multi-stakeholder dialogue on how to promote greater employment opportunities for people with disabilities with a focus on practical technical and policy solutions.
The dialogue was structured around two key documents: (1) New Skills for New Jobs: Action Now that is a report by the Expert Group on New Skills for New Jobs prepared for the European Commission (February 2010); and (2) Post Crisis: e-Skills Are Needed to Drive Europe’s Innovation Society, an IDC White Paper sponsored by Microsoft (November 2009).
The “Study on economic assessment for improving eAccessibility services and products” general objective is twofold: to produce specific micro-level evidence and practical tools that support decision makers of firms and public sector organisations in their assessment of their investments in eAccessibility, and to generate aggregate figures and recommendations that provide policy makers with a view on the order of magnitude of potential benefits and costs for the economy and society as a whole, as well as the mechanisms to boost them.
This study aims to contribute to the improvement of the accessibility of mainstream ICT by providing useful information on costs and benefits of eAccessibility to the different stakeholders, including empirical evidence, analytically/theoretically elaborated instruments and data, and recommendations for improvement.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
