Hadj Ounis's most notable work is his sculpture titled "Metamorphosis." This piece showcases Ounis's mastery of form and texture, as he seamlessly combines metal and wood to create a dynamic and visually striking composition. 2. Feedback
One of the pieces of feedback me and Charlotte
received for our Continuity task is that we didn't
use enough dramatic lighting. I do agree with
this as we it was extremely difficult to get the
typical film noir drama from using the natural
light but we didn't have a harsh enough light to
film with a noticeable difference.
3. High Key Lighting
• High key lighting is used to reduce the lighting
ratio present in the scene giving a clearer
complexion and a harsher tone.
• This was originally used because of technological
reasons and television was not easily viewed with
high contrast ratios.
• We use high key lighting to make an unnatural
bright light to blow out all harsh lines, this is
much more stylistic in modern television and
films.
4. This is an example of a high key lighting photo as the contrast is extremely significant and
displays an artificial feel. The woman is bleached out and her complexion is smooth with
a fine finish showing the effects of the lighting and the perspective of how you see each
individual.
5. Low Key Lighting
• Low key lighting is uses to accentuate
contours of a person or object by throwing
area into shade, a fill light or reflector is used
to illuminate the shadow area to control
contrast of the film.
• This is named a chiasroscuro effect and is a
much more traditional effect of creating a
dramatic mood and atmosphere.
6. This example of low key lighting shows the contrast between the darker side and the
light. You can see the difference as the whites aren’t as harsh as high key lighting. The
gradual change of light to dark is much more subtle and gives a more eerie effect than
high key lighting.
