Zebul betrayed Abimelech by supporting Gaal's rebellion in Shechem. Abimelech defeated Gaal and the people of Shechem in battle, destroying the city and killing its inhabitants in retaliation for their disloyalty. While attacking another city, a woman dropped a millstone on Abimelech's head, killing him.

As great as it is when people in the Old Testament hear an audible voice from God telling them what to do, that is not always the way God communicates now. In Three Different Chapters, we have three different stories of ways God communicates with David, with the purpose of helping David center His life around God.
This document contains three passages of scripture. The first passage encourages the reader to shout for joy, worship God with gladness, come before him with songs, and know that God is good and his love endures. The second passage describes how the Amalekites attacked the Israelites and how Moses and Joshua fought them off with God's help as long as Moses' hands were held up in praise. The third passage emphasizes the importance of thanking God so that there can be praise and victory.
This document provides guidance and prayers for visiting the city of Madinah and the Prophet Muhammad's grave. The Israelites were being oppressed by their enemies, but God called a deliverer to save them. Gideon doubted that he could save Israel as he felt weak and alone. God assured Gideon that he would defeat Israel's enemies as if they were one man because God would be with him. To confirm this, God performed a sign by consuming a sacrifice with fire from a rock. Though frightened by his encounter with an angel of God, Gideon built an altar and worshipped God as the God of peace.
Syu'aib was a prophet sent to the people of Madyan who had become extremely corrupt, engaging in usury, cheating, and unjust business practices. When Syu'aib urged them to worship God alone and engage justly, they refused. As punishment, God sent darkness, earthquakes, and a terrible sound that killed the people of Madyan. The story highlights the importance of honesty in business, avoiding usury, and allowing prayer to guide one's dealings in life.

This document outlines seven tricks that Shaytan uses to mislead people and obstruct them from acts of obedience to Allah. It provides advice on how to repel each trick, such as realizing one's mortality and need to obey Allah, prioritizing quality over quantity of worship, and understanding that success comes only from Allah. The final trick is suggesting obedience does not matter if one's destiny is already determined, but the document counters that it is the duty of slaves to obey and acts of worship will benefit in this life and the next through increased reward or avoiding punishment. Overall, it encourages focusing on Allah alone and seeking refuge in Him.

David lost his wife, home, job, dignity, and best friend due to King Saul's attempts to kill him. He fled from town to town, pretending to be insane at times to survive. David went through periods of depression but found refuge and strength in God. Though in trouble, in debt, and discontent, 400 men joined David's group. David learned that we attract people in similar circumstances and to give his best even at his worst. David's hope was in God alone. The document ends stating that in heaven, God will wipe every tear away and there will be no more death, crying, or pain, showing that ultimately, hope wins.
God called Gideon to deliver Israel from the Midianites. Gideon's army was originally 32,000 men but God said this was too many so that Israel would not take credit for their victory. God reduced the army to 300 men by having them drink water in different ways. With just 300 men, God delivered the Midianites into Gideon's hand by his power alone. This story teaches the importance of acknowledging God for victories and blessings rather than taking credit ourselves.
1) The document is about King David returning to Jerusalem as king after Absalom's failed revolution. As David crosses the Jordan River, Shimei, who had previously cursed David, falls down before him and repents.
2) Abishai believes Shimei should be put to death for cursing the king, but David refuses, not wanting bloodshed on a day of celebration.
3) The document discusses how true repentance requires a turning from sin to righteousness, not just words of apology. It warns that without genuine transformation, those who profess faith are not truly saved.
God’s Restrictions for Gideon’s Ground ForcesBible Preaching
God established four restrictions for Gideon's ground forces to follow:
1) No cowards - those who were fearful and afraid were sent home, reducing the army from 32,000 to 10,000.
2) No one conceited - those who bowed down to drink water instead of lapping it with their hands were sent home, reducing the army to 300.
3) No cynics - Gideon was given assurance of victory before engaging with the enemy forces to prevent negative attitudes.
4) No capitulation - the remaining 300 soldiers pursued the enemy forces even when faint, refusing to give up. Strict adherence to God's rules helped Gideon achieve victory against the larger Midianite
Gideon was outnumbered by the Midianite army 4 to 1, yet God told him he had too many men. God had Gideon reduce his army to just 300 men. Gideon and his 300 men snuck into the Midianite camp at night and overheard the enemy saying they feared Gideon and that God had delivered them into Gideon's hands. Encouraged, Gideon attacked with his 300 men blowing trumpets and breaking pitchers, which caused the Midianite army to panic and start killing each other in their confusion and fear. God gave Gideon and the Israelites a great victory over the much larger Midianite army.

The document discusses dealing with anger and wickedness based on Psalm 37. It provides guidance on trusting God's timing when faced with evildoers, remembering that God has forgiven our sins through Jesus Christ, and expressing our anger to God rather than acting in anger ourselves. The Psalm advises ceasing from anger and forsaking wrath. While anger is a natural human response, it does not produce righteousness and can be harmful if not properly addressed.
(A Psalm of David.) The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. Psalm 27:1,3,14
This document provides the text and translation of Psalms 1-11 from the Psalms Targum. The Psalms Targum is an English translation of the Aramaic targum, or interpretation, of the Book of Psalms. Each psalm is presented in the original Hebrew followed by the Aramaic translation. The psalms cover various topics from praising God to lamenting enemies and affirming God's protection and justice. The document is copyrighted and provides attribution for the translator, Edward M. Cook.
1. The document appears to be a summary of passages from the Bible describing events after King David's son Absalom rebelled against him.
2. Ahimaaz wanted to be the one to tell King David that the rebellion was over and Absalom was dead, but Joab was concerned about how David would react to the news.
3. When Cushi told David that Absalom was dead, David was overcome with grief, even though Absalom had opposed both David and God's will. The document suggests David should have thanked God for defeating the rebellion instead.
This document is a sermon summary from Gospel Baptist Tabernacle on October 13, 2013. It discusses 2 Samuel 22 and Psalm 18, songs of praise written by David for delivering him from his enemies. When afraid or in distress, David cried out to God, his rock and fortress. God sent angels and moved nature to defend David. The sermon emphasizes keeping God's ways and not departing from Him wickedly to receive blessings, and resisting temptation from one's own lusts rather than from God. It encourages persevering in faithfully following God.
This document summarizes the sermon given at Gospel Baptist Tabernacle on October 20, 2013. The sermon focused on 2 Samuel 22, which describes King David's song of praise to God for delivering him from his enemies and making him victorious. The sermon emphasized that God will be all that people need, just as he was for David, by saving those who need a savior, providing for those in need, and comforting those who are grieving, as long as people fully commit to seeking God with their whole heart.

5th message in a series about lessons learned from the life of King David
This document provides commentary on a passage from 2 Samuel describing Absalom's rebellion against his father King David. It notes how Absalom gained followers by lying and pretending to help people, until he felt powerful enough to declare himself king. David fled from Jerusalem with his troops, though he trusted God would protect and deliver him, as expressed in his Psalms. The commentary encourages readers to remain faithful to God during times of trouble.
This document is a sermon summary from Stone Creek Church in Rossville, GA. It summarizes various passages from 1 Samuel relating the story of David fleeing from King Saul. The summary discusses how David gathered followers as an outlaw, trusted in God's direction rather than his own plans, and was falsely accused by Saul of conspiring against him. It also describes how Saul's paranoia led him to order the killing of priests who aided David.

Light of the world is a sermon on the I AM statements of JesusEd Sullivan
1. Jesus declares himself to be the light of the world, angering the Pharisees. He claims his testimony is true because he knows where he came from and is going, unlike them.
2. When the Jews question his identity, Jesus reveals he is from above and they are from below, and unless they believe he is the "I am", they will die in their sins.
3. After further disputes over faith and works, Jesus declares the Jews' true father is the devil because they do not accept his word and instead seek to kill him for telling them the truth from God. In the climax, Jesus declares before Abraham was, "I am", deeply angering the Jews who try
Bread Of Life. The first in a series on the "I AM" sayings of Jesus Christ.Ed Sullivan
The document discusses Jesus' declaration that he is the "bread of life" from the gospel of John chapter 6. It provides context that Jesus said this after feeding a large crowd with just a few loaves of bread and fish. Jesus states that whoever believes in him will never hunger or thirst. The Jews question this because they know Jesus' family, but he emphasizes that God has sent him. Jesus doubles down that one must eat his flesh and drink his blood to have eternal life, which confuses and offends many of his disciples.
More Than- a teaching on John 3:1-21 when Nicodemus came to JesusEd Sullivan
1. Nicodemus visits Jesus at night to learn from him as a rabbi. Jesus tells him that one must be born again of water and spirit to enter God's kingdom.
2. Jesus compares being born again to the Israelites' passage through the Red Sea and Moses lifting up the bronze serpent to cure snake bites, foreshadowing his death on the cross.
3. God sent his son Jesus not to condemn the world but to save it, and whoever believes in him will have eternal life rather than perish. However, those who do evil hate the light of truth.
1. John the Baptist was a prophet sent by God to prepare the way for Jesus and testify about the coming Messiah. He baptized with water and preached repentance.
2. When questioned about his identity, John the Baptist denied being the Christ or Elijah, but said he was the voice crying out in the wilderness as prophesied by Isaiah.
3. John the Baptist testified that Jesus was the Son of God and Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, having seen the Spirit descend upon him at his baptism. His role was to decrease as Jesus' influence increased.
The Word existed eternally with God and was God. All things were created through the Word. The Word became flesh as Jesus Christ and dwelt among humanity. Some received him and believed in his name, becoming children of God through faith rather than physical descent. The law was given through Moses but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ, who revealed the fullness of God.
This document provides an overview of John 20:19-23, which describes Jesus appearing to his disciples after his resurrection and commissioning them. The key points are:
1. Jesus appears to the disciples and shows them his wounds, proving he has been resurrected. He commissions them to continue his work and forgives their sins.
2. Jesus then breathes on the disciples and says "Receive the Holy Spirit," giving them power to forgive sins just as he does.
3. The passage establishes that Jesus is sending the disciples out as he was sent, and that through the church, believers have the authority and responsibility to forgive sins as part of their commission to spread the gospel.
Jesus appeared to his disciples over 40 days after his resurrection and commanded them to remain in Jerusalem to receive power from the Holy Spirit. Jesus told them they would receive power and become his witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. As they watched, Jesus was taken up into heaven. Two men told the disciples that Jesus would return in the same way they saw him leave.
The document provides a guide for Spiritual Emphasis Month activities at Family Christian Center in January 2024. It encourages daily challenges like prayer, Bible reading, fasting and inviting others to church. There is a Bible reading challenge to read the Gospel of John in the month. Members are asked to fast and pray on Fridays and participate in weekly discipleship and prayer meetings. The goal is to draw closer to God through spiritual disciplines and community during the month.
While shepherds watched their flocks at night, an angel appeared to them and announced the birth of Jesus. The angel was accompanied by a multitude of other angels praising God. The shepherds went to Bethlehem and found Mary, Joseph, and the baby Jesus lying in a manger just as the angel had said. Upon seeing the baby, the shepherds spread the word of his birth to all they met.
The document describes the incarnation of Jesus Christ through the story of Joseph and Mary in the Gospel of Matthew. It then summarizes the key points about Joseph as a just man who obeyed God, and Mary as the chosen mother who said yes to God's call. Finally, it analyzes the passage in Colossians 1:15-20 which describes Jesus as the image of God, the creator and sustainer of all things, the head of the Church, and the fullness of God dwelling in him to reconcile all things.
The document discusses walking in maturity according to Galatians 5-6. It provides guidance on how to address wrongs committed by others with gentleness, the importance of self-examination to avoid temptation, bearing one another's burdens while also being responsible for our own actions. It emphasizes doing good works, especially to fellow Christians, and warns that what we sow through our actions is what we will reap, either corruption or eternal life.
The document discusses walking by the Spirit according to Galatians 5:16-26. It describes how the desires of the flesh are opposed to the Spirit, listing works of the flesh like sexual immorality and idolatry. It emphasizes that practicing such things will prevent inheriting God's kingdom. However, the fruit of the Spirit includes love, joy and self-control. It encourages living by the Spirit through crucifying fleshly desires and keeping in step with the Spirit.
1. Paul warns the Galatians that accepting circumcision means rejecting Christ and falling from grace, as it submits them to keeping the whole law.
2. He emphasizes that neither circumcision nor uncircumcision matter, but only faith working through love. Those trying to persuade the Galatians away from faith are hindering them.
3. Paul uses several metaphors - running a race, leaven in dough, courtroom trial - to urge the Galatians to remain steadfast in their faith and not be misled, and to preserve unity among themselves through love rather than "biting and devouring" one another.
The document discusses two covenants that are represented by Abraham's two wives - Hagar and Sarah. Hagar represents the covenant under the law given at Mount Sinai that leads to slavery. Sarah represents the covenant of promise that leads to freedom through Christ. The author argues that just as Isaac was born of the free woman Sarah, Christians are children of the promise born of Sarah, not of slavery under the law. Believers are called to stand firm in their freedom in Christ and not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
1. The passage discusses Paul's concern that the Galatians are returning to observance of the Law and Jewish customs instead of relying on their faith in Christ.
2. Paul argues that through faith in Christ, believers are no longer under guardians and managers like the Law, but are sons of God.
3. He pleads with the Galatians not to turn back to following weak and worthless principles of the world, and instead to fully embrace their identity in Christ.
1. The document discusses Paul's letter to the Galatians explaining that God's promise to Abraham through Jesus Christ cannot be added to or altered, just as a legal covenant cannot be changed once ratified.
2. It notes that the promise was specifically made to Abraham's offspring, which is Christ, and the Mosaic law that came later was meant as a temporary guardian or guide until Christ.
3. With the coming of faith in Christ, believers are no longer bound to the law but are all sons of God, having been baptized into Christ and being heirs according to God's promise to Abraham.
The document discusses Paul's letter to the Galatians chapters 3:10-14. It summarizes that the law places all people under a curse for not keeping all its commands perfectly. However, no one is justified by the law but only through faith, as demonstrated by Abraham's righteousness coming from faith, not works. Christ redeems people from the law's curse by becoming cursed on the cross, so that Gentiles can receive the Spirit's blessing originally promised to Abraham, through faith rather than the law.
Paul rebukes the Galatians for abandoning faith in Christ in favor of following the Law, calling them "foolish" and asking who had "bewitched" them. He reminds them that they received the Holy Spirit through faith in Christ, not works, and cites Abraham's faith being "reckoned as righteousness" to demonstrate that true sons of Abraham are those of faith, not works. Paul concludes that all who have faith, both Jews and Gentiles, are blessed along with Abraham.
Paul confronted Peter for separating himself from Gentile believers out of fear of criticism. Paul argued that justification comes through faith in Christ, not works of the law. Paul explained that through dying with Christ to the law, believers can now live for God identified with Christ living in them through faith. Justification is not by works of the law, otherwise Christ's death would be unnecessary.
Paul wrote to the churches in Galatia to warn them against following those who preached a false gospel of works-righteousness through obeying the Jewish Law in addition to faith in Christ. Paul established that he received the true gospel of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus alone directly by revelation from God, not from any human source. He confronted Peter for withdrawing from table fellowship with Gentile believers out of fear of critics from Jerusalem, reminding him that justification comes solely through faith in Christ, not works of the Law.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

2. Psalm 34
A Psalm of David when he feigned madness before Abimelech, who drove him away
and he departed.
1 I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall
continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul will make its
boast in the LORD; The humble will hear it and rejoice. 3
O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name
together. 4 I sought the LORD, and He answered me, And
delivered me from all my fears. 5 They looked to Him
and were radiant, And their faces will never
3. be ashamed. 6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard
him And saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of
the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, And
rescues them. 8 O taste and see that the LORD is good;
How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! 9 O
fear the LORD, you His saints; For to those who fear Him
there is no want. 10 The young lions do lack and suffer
hunger; But they who seek the LORD shall not be in
want of any good thing. 11 Come, you children, listen to
me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. 12 Who is the
man who desires life And loves length of days that he
may see good?
4. 13 Keep your tongue from evil And your lips from
speaking deceit. 14 Depart from evil and do good; Seek
peace and pursue it. 15 The eyes of the LORD are toward
the righteous And His ears are open to their cry. 16 The
face of the LORD is against evildoers, To cut off the
memory of them from the earth. 17 The righteous cry,
and the LORD hears And delivers them out of all their
troubles. 18 The LORD is near to the brokenhearted And
saves those who are crushed in spirit. 19 Many are the
afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him
out of them all. 20 He keeps all his bones, Not one of
them is broken.
5. 21 Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the
righteous will be condemned. 22 The LORD redeems the
soul of His servants, And none of those who take refuge
in Him will be condemned.
7. Back Story
King Saul became jealous
He devised ways to “accidently” kill David
Jonathan and David became good friends
Jonathan discovered his father’s treachery
Warns David, who flees
Stops for provision from the priest
8. 1 Samuel 21:8–15
David said to Ahimelech, “Now is there not a spear or a
sword on hand? For I brought neither my sword nor my
weapons with me, because the king’s matter was
urgent.” Then the priest said, “The sword of Goliath the
Philistine, whom you killed in the valley of Elah, behold,
it is wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod; if you would
take it for yourself, take it. For there is no other except
it here.” And David said, “There is none like it; give it to
me.”
10. He didn’t
count on
this
But the servants of Achish said
to him, “Is this not David the
king of the land? Did they not
sing of this one as they danced,
saying, ‘Saul has slain his
thousands, And David his ten
thousands’?” David took these
words to heart and greatly
feared Achish king of Gath.
11. Probably the first
idea
So he disguised his sanity
before them, and acted
insanely in their hands,
and scribbled on the
doors of the gate, and let
his saliva run down into
his beard.
12. Aaaand it worked
Then Achish said to his servants, “Behold, you see
the man behaving as a madman. Why do you
bring him to me? Do I lack madmen, that you
have brought this one to act the madman in my
presence? Shall this one come into my house?”
13. 1 Samuel 22:1–2
So David departed from there
and escaped to the cave of
Adullam;…Everyone who was
in distress, and everyone who
was in debt, and everyone
who was discontented
gathered to him; and he
became captain over them.
14. How do you think David felt?
Run for his life from Saul
Escape into his enemies' hands
Act insane
Make it to safety
Become the leader of a drifter band
19. David elevates his men
They looked to Him and were radiant, And their
faces will never be ashamed.
The indebted, discontent and distressed
He saved out of all their troubles
20. God is on our side
The angel of the LORD
encamps around
those who fear Him,
And rescues them.
22. The beginning of
wisdom
O fear the LORD, you His saints; For to those who fear
Him there is no want.
Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the
fear of the LORD.
23. Experience
the Lord
O taste and see that the
LORD is good;
Refuge in Him
Freedom
Have what is good
Long life
24. What is required?
Keep your tongue
from evil And your
lips from speaking
deceit.
Romans 3:13…THEIR
THROAT IS AN OPEN
GRAVE, WITH THEIR
TONGUES THEY KEEP
DECEIVING,” “THE
POISON OF ASPS IS UNDER
THEIR LIPS”;
26. What is required?
Seek peace and pursue it.
Romans 12:18…If possible,
so far as it depends on you,
be at peace with all men.
27. God sees
The eyes of the LORD are
toward the righteous
And His ears are open to
their cry.
28. God acts
The righteous cry, and
the LORD hears And
delivers them out of all
their troubles.
29. God restores
The LORD is near to the
brokenhearted And
saves those who are
crushed in spirit.
30. There will be trouble but…
Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the LORD delivers him out of them all.
31. Rings true for us
The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of
those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.
Romans 8:1…Therefore there is now no condemnation
for those who are in Christ Jesus.
32. Our take away
Your past doesn’t determine your future
Take someone under your arm
Pour in what you know
You are the beginning of transformation in others
