How do you respond to the worst day in your life? David runs for his life, has to act insane and ends up being the leader of a group of down and outers.
This document contains a summary of Psalm 17, along with additional encouraging messages. The summary is as follows:
Psalm 17 is a prayer from David where he asks God to hear his just cause and vindicate him. David has kept himself from sin and calls on God, who will hear his prayer. He asks God for protection from his enemies who surround and oppress him. David has faith that he will one day see God's face and be satisfied in God's likeness. The additional messages encourage the reader by reminding them that God encourages and protects believers, and that being with God should encourage Christians.
David spares Saul's life when given the opportunity to kill him in a cave. David explains to Saul that he only cut off a piece of Saul's robe as proof of David's innocence and that he did not intend to harm Saul. Saul acknowledges that David is more righteous and will become king. David promises not to harm Saul or his family in the future. The event shows David's restraint and mercy towards his enemy Saul, demonstrating that he is a man after God's own heart.
David cut off the edge of Saul's robe secretly while Saul was relieving himself in a cave that David and his men were hiding in. David's conscience bothered him for doing this. He told his men he did not want to harm Saul, who was God's anointed. David later confronted Saul, showing him the edge of his robe and saying he had opportunity to kill Saul but did not because Saul was God's anointed.
This document provides encouragement and scripture for pastors. It includes a fear survey listing common fears and their percentages. Several passages from Psalm 27 are presented, focusing on looking to God first, obeying his prompts, revealing one's heart to him, and daring to believe in seeing his goodness. It also includes short encouraging Bible verses from John and Luke. The overall message is to pray for and support pastors by reminding them to rely on God primarily in facing their fears and challenges.
1) David faces the temptation to kill King Saul when given the opportunity but resists, knowing it would be wrong to harm God's anointed king.
2) David calls out to Abner from a safe distance, questioning why Saul's men did not protect the king, and uses this to persuade Saul of his innocence and good intentions.
3) Saul acknowledges he was wrong to pursue David and promises not to harm him again, recognizing David showed restraint and righteousness by sparing his life when he was vulnerable.
This document provides a summary of Psalm 22 in 3 parts:
1. David complains of being forsaken by God and cries out in great discouragement and distress with no answer.
2. In his distress, David prays to God not to be far away and to come quickly to his help and deliver him from his troubles.
3. The summary concludes with David praising God for listening to his cries and vowing to declare God's name to others, as all people will eventually bow down before God's dominion and righteousness.
The document discusses several human rights principles found in both Islamic teachings and the UN Declaration of Human Rights, including:
1) Equality - The Quran teaches that all humans are equal in dignity and rights, regardless of race or nationality.
2) Freedom of religion - Both the Quran and UN Declaration affirm there is no compulsion in religion and everyone has freedom of belief.
3) Marriage and family rights - People have the right to marry and found a family according to their choice without restrictions. Both also discuss divorce and children's rights.
4) Other rights mentioned include intellectual freedom, freedom of speech, access to sustenance, and the fundamental right to life. Overall the document finds alignment

Psalm 109: Jehovah Stands at the Right HandDave Stewart
Psalm 109 is a disturbing Psalm for many of those of us who know that Jesus taught us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. This is my attempt to understand David's (somewhat) ironic request for Jehovah to curse the one who is cursing him. This helped me to begin to get a grasp.
Psalm 27 expresses confidence in God despite dangers. The psalmist finds security in God's protection and salvation. Though enemies pursue him, the psalmist's heart is not afraid because God is his light and stronghold. He seeks God's presence in His temple and desires to dwell with God all his days. The psalmist knows that God will answer his cries for help and not abandon him. He endures troubles with the assurance that God's goodness will be seen.
The document is a poem praising God and asking for his presence at all times. It repeats verses asking God to come, teach, protect, and save the speaker. It expresses a desire for God's light and assistance in all seasons.

The document discusses Acts 4:12 and emphasizes that the Bible verse states salvation is only found through Jesus Christ, whose name is the only one given under heaven by which people must be saved. It quotes the verse three times and reiterates there is no other name or person besides Jesus Christ through which salvation can be attained.

This document provides excerpts from the first chapter (Al-Fatihah) and second chapter (Al-Baqarah) of the Quran. The excerpt from Al-Fatihah contains the opening verses praising God. The excerpt from Al-Baqarah discusses various topics, including those who believe and disbelieve, guidance from God, Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, Moses and the Israelites. The summary highlights the key religious topics and figures discussed across the two excerpts from the Quran.
Using the example of Noah, we find the important of obeying all of God’s commands and we discover the consequences of not being obedient. This is made clear even in the importance of the distiction between singing, as God commanded, and playing music, which He did not command. If we can change one thing, then that opens the door for us to change other things and we are soon found to be teaching a different gospel and are disobedient to God. This lesson will help us to understand the importance of obedience to His commandments.

The document discusses several key points from the biblical accounts of Adam to Noah:
1) It examines perceived differences between the creation accounts in Genesis 1 and 2, suggesting they provide complementary rather than contradictory perspectives.
2) It outlines important events after the Fall, including the first prophecy of Jesus, God clothing Adam and Eve, and implications of their disobedience.
3) It describes Noah finding favor with God during a time of increasing evil, and highlights details of the massive Ark and global Flood as portrayed in Genesis.

Noah's family was responsible for restoring the foundations of faith and substance that Adam's family had failed to establish. Noah was chosen to restore the foundation of faith through building the ark and enduring God's flood judgment. Noah's sons, Shem and Ham, were meant to restore the foundation of substance by making an offering to remove the fallen nature. However, Ham showed disrespect for Noah by feeling ashamed of his nakedness, failing the test to restore substance. As a result, Noah's family also failed in their providence to restore what Adam lost.

Genesis ch 6, #1, 2012, days of Noah, sons of god, nephilim, gigantes, giants...Valley Bible Fellowship
The document provides an overview of the biblical story of Noah and the days of Noah based on several passages from Genesis, Matthew, 2 Peter, and Jude. It discusses three key points:
1) Noah was a righteous man who preached about God's coming judgment and was saved by his faith in building the ark, along with his family of 7 others.
2) In the days before the flood, the sons of God (interpreted as fallen angels) took wives from human women and produced the Nephilim, who were the mighty men/heroes of old.
3) God waited patiently while Noah built the ark, showing his grace and longsuffering even amidst increasing sin on earth before
Noah, Joseph, And High-Resolution PaleoclimatologyScott St. George
In 1968, Benoit Mandelbrot and James Wallis published an article titled ‘Noah, Joseph, and operational Hydrology’ in the journal Water Resources Research. In it, they argued that hydrological models of the day were not able to estimate the true risk of extreme floods or prolonged drought, and that rare hydrological events were much more common than usually assumed.
In this lecture, I’ll review how high-resolution paleoenvironmental archives can help us judge more accurately the risks posed by the ‘Noah’- and ‘Joseph’-style events described by Mandelbrot and Wallis. I’ll give particular emphasis to the environmental information recovered from the rings of ancient trees, and explain how dendrochronology (tree-ring research) has been used to redefine the ‘flood of record’, test potential avenues for long-lead climate predictions, and gage the performance of state-of-the-art climate models.
130519 eng school of faith - (part 3 - noah) by ps. timothy loheaglepointcf
The document discusses Noah and the biblical flood story. It provides background on Noah, including that he was instructed by God to build an ark to save his family from a coming global flood. Noah obeyed God completely, building the ark over 120 years despite facing mockery. The document contrasts the extreme wickedness and violence of Noah's time with Noah's extreme obedience in response. It suggests Christians today should respond to increasing ungodliness with extreme, immediate, and heartfelt obedience to God.
Noah was born prematurely and had various health issues from a young age including vomiting, ear infections, and episodes where he would space out and move his hands in front of his face. After many tests, he was diagnosed with a Chiari malformation type 1 where his brain was pushing down into his spinal cord. Noah underwent brain surgery to decompress the malformation.
The document discusses lessons that can be learned from the story of Noah's Ark. It lists 11 lessons, such as don't miss the boat, plan ahead, and when stressed float a while. It then analyzes the story based on 4 major themes: 1) One righteous man, Noah, can make a difference through his righteousness, blameless reputation, and communion with God. 2) Noah showed obedience by doing everything God commanded. 3) Noah demonstrated tenacity in building the ark. 4) The ark itself saved Noah, his family, and the animals from the flood.
The story of Noah from Genesis describes how in ancient times, people had become wicked and forgotten God. Only Noah remained faithful to God. God told Noah he was saddened and planned to flood the earth, so Noah built an ark and took his family and two of every animal aboard. It rained for 40 days and nights, flooding the entire world, before the waters receded and Noah's ark landed on Mount Ararat. God created a rainbow as a sign he would never flood the earth again.
God created Adam and Eve to live happily with Him in the Garden of Eden. However, they disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit, committing the original sin. As a result, they lost sanctifying grace and were banished from the garden. All humans are now born with original sin and a tendency to sin. However, God promised to send a savior to restore grace. Jesus won back grace on the cross. The Holy Spirit now distributes grace to those who believe.
The Three Identifying Marks of the Thankful.pptxRafaelPadilla60
Psalm 34 expresses gratitude to God and encourages righteous living. It praises God for answering prayers and delivering the faithful from fears (vv. 1-7). God blesses those who take refuge in him and lack nothing, while the righteous cry out to God and are delivered from troubles (vv. 8-10, 15-18). The psalm calls the faithful to glorify God, experience his grace, and live righteously under his watchful care and protection.
Psalm 34 exhorts the reader to praise God at all times. It describes how God delivers those who seek him from their fears and troubles. It highlights God's goodness, and that those who take refuge in God lack no good thing. The psalm closes by affirming God's presence with the righteous, delivering them from their troubles, while evil will be condemned.

God called Gideon to deliver Israel from the Midianites. Gideon's army was originally 32,000 men but God said this was too many so that Israel would not take credit for their victory. God reduced the army to 300 men by having them drink water in different ways. With just 300 men, God delivered the Midianites into Gideon's hand by his power alone. This story teaches the importance of acknowledging God for victories and blessings rather than taking credit ourselves.

130113 in christ (part 2-strong in him) by ps. timothy loheaglepointcf
The document discusses different ways that believers can draw strength from God. It provides examples from the Bible where God strengthened individuals like the nation of Israel, Daniel, David, Samson, and Nehemiah when they faced difficulties. The key aspects discussed for being strong in God include putting on the full armor of God described in Ephesians, which involves truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, God's word, and prayer. The overall message is that God desires his people to experience his strength at all times and in all situations.
The frontline church presentation session 2 [autosaved]Anne Johnson
This document appears to be notes from a group session discussing serving God on the "frontlines," even when facing difficulties. The session was led by Anne Johnson from St. Mary's Parish Church. The aim was to explore God's call to serve on the frontlines, even when it seems difficult or hostile. Participants were asked to share experiences from the previous week and discuss how they try to be a blessing to others in their daily lives, despite challenges. They also discussed praying for God to change situations and make decisions to serve their frontlines. The notes provide questions for reflection and encouragement to live faithfully as Christians wherever they are.
The document contains lyrics to 19 Christian worship songs. The songs praise God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. They reference biblical passages and themes like salvation, victory over sin and death, and the second coming of Christ. The lyrics express devotion, thanksgiving, and joy in worshipping God.

The document discusses the biblical story of Joshua and the battle of Gibeon. It recounts how five Amorite kings attacked Gibeon but Joshua and the Israelites came to their aid. During the battle, God performed miracles to help the Israelites defeat their enemies. Specifically, the sun stood still in the sky to allow the Israelites more daylight to continue fighting until they had avenged themselves against their enemies. The key message emphasized throughout is the importance of relying on God rather than one's own strength alone. By trusting in God, Joshua and the Israelites were able to overcome their foes.

Acts 7:20-29: Moses sought to be with his brothers but they rejected him. And he was exiled. Cain refused to care for his brother, and he was alone. But it’s not good for man to be alone. Of all the metaphors for believers, the one most often used in the NT is “adelphos” (siblings, brothers and sisters). After Jesus’ ascension the company who gathered in the upper room consisted of both men and women, and Peter calls all of them brethren. In Acts 15, both Jewish believers and Gentile believers are called brethren.

The document discusses Jesus Christ's relationship to believers as their brother. It notes that Christ partook of flesh and blood to become like his brothers in every way so that he could be a merciful and faithful high priest to help those who are tempted. As the Son of God, Christ calls believers his brothers and sisters and shares in their humanity so that he can bring many sons and daughters to glory. The document encourages believers that as holy brothers and sisters of Christ, they share in his heavenly calling from God.

A375 Example Taste the taste of the Lord, the taste of the Lord The taste of...franktsao4
It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
[2] My soul makes its boast in Jehovah;
let the humble hear and be glad.
[3] Oh, magnify Jehovah with me,
and let us exalt his name together!
4. [4] I sought Jehovah and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
[5] Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.
[6] This poor man cried, and Jehovah heard him
and saved him out of all his troubles.
[7] The angel of Jehovah encamps
around those who fear him, and delivers them.
5. [8] Oh, taste and see that Jehovah is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
[9] Oh, fear Jehovah, you his saints,
for those who fear him have no lack!
[10] The young lions suffer want and hunger;
but those who seek Jehovah lack no good thing.
6. [11] Come, O children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of Jehovah.
[12] What man is there who desires life
and loves many days, that he may see good?
[13] Keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speaking deceit.
[14] Turn away from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.
7. [15] The eyes of Jehovah are toward the righteous
and his ears toward their cry.
[16] The face of Jehovah is against those who do evil,
to cut off the memory of them from the earth.
[17] When the righteous cry for help, Jehovah hears
and delivers them out of all their troubles.
[18] Jehovah is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.
8. [19] Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but Jehovah delivers him out of them all.
[20] He keeps all his bones;
not one of them is broken.
[21] Affliction will slay the wicked,
and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.
[22] Jehovah redeems the life of his servants;
none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.
