Jesus sends 72 disciples out in pairs to visit towns and spread the message of God's kingdom. He instructs them to pray for more workers and to travel light, staying in one place to accept hospitality. If a town welcomes the disciples, they should heal the sick and share that God's kingdom is near. But if a town rejects them, the disciples should shake its dust from their feet as a sign they have abandoned that town. The disciples return joyfully, having been given power over demons. Jesus tells them their mission is to invite people to learn about him and persuade them to accept his message.

The Meaning of the Qur'an is a fresh English rendering of Tafhim-ul-Qur’an, Maulana Syed Abu Ala Moududi’s monumental and masterly Urdu translation of the Qur’an and a selection of his commentary. The translator has undertaken the delicate and difficult task of rendering this work in English under the guidance of the Maulana himself. Here is a work with a difference, by a dedicated scholar of an entirely different sort. An immense wealth of profound understanding of the Qur’an is here, a vast treasure of knowledge and deep insight, and a valuable exposition of some social, political, economic and legal teachings of the Qur’an.
This comprehensive Tafsir answers contemporary questions, and makes the Qur’an fully relevant to the concerns of day, yet it loses nothing of its timelessness nor sacrifices any of the traditional understanding. It demonstrates the unity and coherence of the Qur’an by centring everything on its message, like gems hung on a single string.
This Tafsir is particularly suitable for Muslims with no direct access to the Arabic original.

Festival of Matzoth
Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the entire lump? Therefore, cleanse out the old leaven, so that you are a new lump, as you are unleavened. For also Maschiyach our Passover was offered for us. So then let us observe the festival, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of evil and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. I wrote to you in my letter not to keep company with those who whore. And I certainly did not mean with those of this world who whore, or with the greedy of gain, or swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone called ‘a brother,’ if he is one who whores, or greedy of gain, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler – not even to eat with such a one

The Word of God about antichrist and the apocalyptic beastBilly Dean
… Keep in mind for that man, the antichrist, will come before you and will say: “I am the antichrist and this world is going with me.” Know, Christian, even if you are no longer living, you will see him, for no one will have the end before your resurrection, so that the dead and the living may see the antichrist.
I LOVE this Sunday's readings. - I don't know what it is with Mass readings BUT each Sunday they seem to be just PERFECT in the message they give. I pray that all of those who are going through hard times may see that Christ is indeed with us. May the Peace of Jesus reign always in our hearts - but more especially in the hearts of those who are troubled or hurt.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

Renewed in Grace
2. The Lord now chose seventy-two other
disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the
towns and places he planned to visit. These
were his instructions to them: “The harvest is
great, but the workers are few. So pray to the
Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to
send more workers into his fields.
3. Now go, and remember that I am sending you
out as lambs among wolves. Don’t take any
money with you, nor a traveller’s bag, nor an
extra pair of sandals. And don’t stop to greet
anyone on the road.
4. “Whenever you enter someone’s home, first
say, ‘May God’s peace be on this house.’ If
those who live there are peaceful, the blessing
will stand; if they are not, the blessing will
return to you. Don’t move around from home
to home. Stay in one place, eating and drinking
what they provide. Don’t hesitate to accept
hospitality, because those who work deserve
their pay.
5. “If you enter a town and it welcomes you, eat
whatever is set before you. Heal the sick, and
tell them, ‘The Kingdom of God is near you
now.’ But if a town refuses to welcome you, go
out into its streets and say, ‘We wipe even the
dust of your town from our feet to show that
we have abandoned you to your fate. And
know this—the Kingdom of God is near!’
6. Then he said to the disciples, “Anyone who
accepts your message is also accepting me. And
anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And
anyone who rejects me is rejecting God, who
sent me.”
When the seventy-two disciples returned, they
joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the
demons obey us when we use your name!”
7. “Yes,” he told them, “I saw Satan fall from
heaven like lightning! Look, I have given you
authority over all the power of the enemy, and
you can walk among snakes and scorpions and
crush them. Nothing will injure you. But don’t
rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice
because your names are registered in heaven.”
Luke 10: 1-11, 16-20
8. These were his instructions to them: “The
harvest is great, but the workers are few.
11. Now go, and remember that I am sending you
out as lambs among wolves.
12. Look, I have given you authority over all the
power of the enemy, and you can walk among
snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing
will injure you.
13. Now go, and remember that I am sending you
out as lambs among wolves.
14. “Whenever you enter someone’s home, first
say, ‘May God’s peace be on this house.’ If
those who live there are peaceful, the blessing
will stand; if they are not, the blessing will
return to you.
